- - - Travel Thoughts for Everyone - - -

For much of December 2022, all of January 2023, and all of February 2023, I was in the Detroit area--far from the other place where I can live in Michigan through a year.  It was an unexpected extra stay away from the other place.  That was good and bad.  It was good since I was able to work on the display unit for "The Victor Swanson Shipyard Museum featuring The Mackinaw WAGB-83", which I have been working on for an on-and-off period for a number of years.  But I was unable to be around when a super-big tree fell in the backyard of the other place, and it is a super-big tree, which broke off at the ground, pulling up the root system that can be called the "root ball."  I learned about the fallen tree from a guy who watches over the other place from time to time, such as by keeping the lane clear of snow.  The guy sent me a photograph of the downed tree.  At the other place, I have a chainsaw, and when I saw the photograph, I knew the chainsaw would not be great for cutting up the tree.  So, I did research, looking to find a chainsaw with a much longer bar (on which the chain with teeth rides).  I chose a Stihl MS 261 C-M, which has about a 50cc gas-powered system, and I got a bar for it that is 18-inches long.  By the way, I did not want to get an electric chainsaw, such as that with a battery, because that would be a nutty idea.  In recent years, idiots and rotten people have been pushing for everything to run on batteries--cars, stoves, waterheaters, lawn mowers, chainsaws, et cetera.  That is bad for many reasons.  If everything runs on electricity, that would be bad if the country were forced into war.  If the electricity system, such as a portion of the electrical grid was knock out, there would be no backup energy, and there would be no machinery that could operate through other power sources.  Also, a country needs oil to run machinery, such as chainsaws, and specifically the oil is needed for lubrication.  If the country were to abandon oil processing and such and if war were to come, this country would be dependent on other countries for oil to make things work, or the country would not work.  I have heard that an electric-based chainsaw can cut about the same amount of wood as a gas-powered chain saw using one tank of gas can.  Just how many batteries would I have to have to cut up the super-bid tree?  Or just how many times would I have to stand around waiting for batteries to charge up?  And if everything ran on electricity, could I even get batteries charged well or easily?  Would I have to stand around and waste time?  Would the electricity-generating plants be over-tasked when I want to charge up a battery or batteries?  Plus, if everything runs on batteries, a lot of mining would have to be done to get the materials for all the batteries, which do have a limited lifespan.  I report that the Stihl MS 261 C-M is considered a professional-grade unit and that the chainsaw and an extra chain cost about $830.00.  What would it cost to get a bunch of batteries for an electric chainsaw?  If the chainsaw were used only on an occasional basis, would I have to waste time continually seeing to it that the batteries were charged?  Would I have to continually every-so-offen, such as every few weeks, put the batteries to a charger?  Would the batteries go bad from non-use?  What is the lifespan of a battery?  A gas-powered chainsaw can sit for months and years without my worrying about it going bad in some way.  The idea being pushed by people that everything should run on electricity is idiocy, and such people are evil.  The planet is not going to die soon because man is using carbon-based things [Note: See my document at this Countdown link.].  The secretary-general of the United Nations is a rotten man, and that person is Antonio Guterres, and on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, Antonio Guterres once again pushed out idiocy about climate change, such as by saying that the soon-to-come rising sea levels are "a death sentence" for a number of countries and cities, such as Los Angeles, Santiago, Copenhagen, Bangkok, and Cairo.  That is bullshit!  So I will cut up the super-big tree with the Stihl MS 261 C-M and some hand saws, and the tree will get burned, and that will make ash and other solids that will go into a garden, and that will give some new plants food and nutrients, and carbon dioxide will be released. and that gas will feed the many trees near the fire pit, since trees need carbon dioxide to live, and when the trees live, they will give off oxygen for me and other animals to live, such as the relatives of the toads that I raised some years ago.  There is nothing like a happy little toad that has enough oxygen!  I guess I will have to come up with a bunch of little ear plugs for all my little toads, since I will make noise with the chainsaw, and so goes life--with noise and dirt and oil and all.

Warning announcement!  Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips.  The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islamic law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law."  Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining  business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia."  When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion, and it promotes killing of non-followers behind the face of religion and a god, Allah).  By the way, a society based on "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping the ideas of the society based on ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders), whose main purpose is to keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really.  Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than the U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.

During the week of Monday, February 20, 2023--and maybe it was on Thursday, February 23, 2023--I heard Dennis Prager (of The Dennis Prager Show, a nationally distributed weekday radio show) say that a lot of young people are not getting a driver's license, and Dennis Prager and callers gave suggestions about why such people were not, and no one bought up the idea that it as been commonplace all over the country since the 1970s for children to be bused to school or for children to be driven to school, which was not the case from at least 1900 to the about 1970s, when most children walked to school, so, now, people are in the habit of getting others to move them around or they do not move around so well or they do not move around too far from home easily, and I can think of other reasons why the young are not getting licenses, and one is that many families are not headed to a strong father who pushes the children to get their butts off the couches and grow up (and that is the result of the modern "Feminist Movement," which is shit).  It looks as if, in the future, there will be less tourism traffic in Michigan because of many people will not have licenses and because of another reason that I have talked about at the website for The Hologlobe Press in the past--electric cars will kill the used-car market, since the price of a used car in EV form will be so high that a family will not have an easy time getting a third car or a fourth car so that children can move around, such as to work or school [Note: When a main battery system goes bad in an EV, it is very expensive to change, and that is unlike what people have with gasoline-based cars, which can run for 250,000 miles or more and can run for decades and can be inexpensive in used-car form).  Some people of today have never seen Fort Wilkins, which is a museum in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and, in the future, some people of the southeastern region of Lower Michigan, where Detroit area, may never see Fort Wilkins (of the Copper Harbor area) since they would not be able to get their easily, such as by driving in their own vehicle.  There are no subways from, for example, the Detroit area to Fort Wilkins, and there are no trains from the Detroit area to Fort Wilkins, and there are no direct buses from the Detroit area to Fort Wilkins.  Good luck taking a bicycle trip to there and back!  Oh, I have to say again--The country is too big for mass transportation to ever replace the car and such, since it is not the 1700s and 1800s, when there were few towns and cities and when the towns and cities were small and when towns and cities were connected by stage coach or train or horse and buggy.  When people travel by themselves by car or like vehicle, they can stumble across something, such as something that might not be along a train route, such as a historical marker or a statue.  For example, today, a person might see the caboose at Comins (of Oscoda County of the Lower Peninsula) while passing through Comins, and the person might stop to see it.  By the way, a bunch of socialists and other like idiots and foolish people are working to set up a regular train system--a mass-transit system--between the Ann Arbor area (a socialistic stronghold in Michigan) and the Traverse City area (a socialistic stronghold in Michigan), which the people want funded by the state government, and if it gets developed, people will be sort of be kept by the service from seeing things they might come across while in a car or like vehicle, and the tourists will sort of be kept more ignorant of what Michigan has--it is elites working to get others to pay for them.  Yes, it will be hard for some people or maybe many people to come across "Young's Golf - Recreation - Dining" (once known as the "George Young Golf Course") of the Iron River/Crystal Falls area of Iron County of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, since it is not along a bus route or a train route.  [Note: You could not make enough bus routes or train routes to service the state and the people!]  Oh, the history of "Young's Golf - Recreation - Dining" of current form goes back to 1984, and the place has an eighteen-hole golf course, a restaurant, a swimming pool, and more.  Let me reverse the idea.  Some people or many people in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan might never get to stumble across and see Devoe Beach of the Indian River area of Cheboygan County, such as on a trip from the Marquette area (of the Upper Peninsula) to the Bay City area (of the Lower Peninsula), trapped on a bus that does not go to or by Devoe Beach.  Devoe Beach is tied to Burt Lake, and in the Burt Lake area or the Devoe Beach area is Burt Lake State Park.  It seems a lot of young people are going to kept stupid or young people are going to keep themselves more stupid about what the world is by keeping themselves trapped in their own little world and surroundings, unable to drive themselves.

I have to pass along this.  Much of the wood from the super-big tree that I cut up with the Stihl MS 261 C-M is going to a neighbor who only burns wood to heat his residence.  The man is someone who for decades was involved is putting down and supervising the making of concrete roads and blacktop roads in the Detroit area and other areas, and he was involved in putting down sewer line, such as in Macomb County of Michigan, and, by the way, he reported how the construction trucks could wear out many tires in a month, and that was a big expense.  I have talked to him about his having to deal with workers.  He had screw-ups, and he had a lot of jackasses.  He would fire their asses.  The neighbor did not put up with screw-ups, since there was a job to get done--and big money was involved.  He was not involved in making sure there were so many whites or blacks or whatever.  Pete Buttigieg (the "head" of the U.S. Department of Transportation) is a jackass and screw-up and freak, and he seems to know nothing about the transportation industry, such as about making roads.  Pete Buttigieg has often talked about how the U.S. has some "racist" roads, which have to be "deconstructed."  [Note: I have talked about the freak in the past.]  On February 13, 2023, Pete Buttigieg, whose home is now based somewhere in the general Traverse City area of Michigan, was at the National Association of Counties Conference, and Pete Buttigieg pushed along more communism crap, hinting that construction crews in a given area should be set up to reflect the actual racial makeup of a neighborhood in which they work, though construction crews have a tendency to continually move from place to place to do jobs, ending up in all types of communities with all different racial makeups in a construction season.   So now, Pete Buttigieg wants a supervisor of a construction job to be more concerned with racial makeup of a crew when making a road--the supervisor has enough problems to deal with to get the job done on time or ahead of time.  Pete Buttigieg (who is based in the Traverse City area of Michigan officially) was pushing racial bullshit!  [Note: In February 2023, Pete Buttigieg (a Democrat (socialist or communist or progressive)) pushed out the crap from his shitty mind that Donald J. Trump was instrumental in causing the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, of February 3, 2023, though it has been proven Donald J. Trump had no ties to the accident, which was caused by, in essence, axel failure.]  And the main road construction season is back in Michigan!

    Enjoy your traveling in Michigan!
