- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 76 - - -

You have opened up another T.H.A.T., which looks at the "window to the world"--television.  Ha!  In this day and age, television is in no way the "window to the world."  And one reason that I say that is too many communist-types are in control of television, especially television news, and they block stuff--often truth--from being seen in that so-called "window to the world."  Although television is not the "window to the world," some people yet call the television industry the "television universe," which is made up of hundreds of networks and channels and many hundreds of television stations, and since the last edition of T.H.A.T. was published, the universe has changed, as I show a it here.  And T.H.A.T. is the truth.

Okay, let me begin by sending you to another document to learn about something that you probably did not learn about through your favorite television newscast.  On July 19, 2010, Barack Obama made a press presentation about a bill that he wanted passed to extend unemployment benefits.  Barack Obama staged the event so that he was surrounded by some individuals who were unemployed, and one of the persons was a woman named Leslie Macko.  Newsplex.com reported on July 29, 2010, in an updated reported (of the previous day) that Leslie Macko has a cirminal past, such as a conviction for prescription drug fraud--March 2009.  To see some of what Barack Obama said on July 19, 2010, you should see the entry for Monday, July 19, 2010, in my document entitled Nonsense Statements and Quotations of Barack Obama, which can be reached through this Quotes link or the link presented at the end of this document.  Yes, Barack Obama had a criminal standing next to him when he gave his staged presentation.  (Jaglois, Jessica.  "UPDATE: White House Reacts to Guest's Criminal Past."  Newsplex.com, 29 July 2010, 7:21 p.m.)

Well, I have documents on the Internet that show associates of Barack Obama's are racists or race baiters, and some of those people are Reverend Jeremiah Wright, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor, and Shirley Sherrod, (and, to learn more about these persons, you can see, for example, THE CRUD AROUND BARACK OBAMA: My Rule--"Like Minds Get Together", which can be reached by using this Crud link), and many news entities have avoided talking about such people, which means probably your favorite television newscast has not passed along the information to you, and now I have another story that your favorite television newscast did not cover.  William Tate wrote an article entitled "Race Played a Role in Obama Car Dealer Closers," which was published in The American Thinker on July 22, 2010 (Tate, William.  "Race Played a Role in Obama Car Dealer Closers,"  The American Thinker, 22 July 2010.).  The article had this quotation that had been made by the Inspector General of the Troubled Asset Relief Program--Neal M. Barofsky--recently, and that quotation was: "[D]ealerships were retained because they were recently appointed, were key wholesale parts dealers, or were minority- or woman-owned dealerships."  The article noted that the closing of about 2,000 dealerships (related to either General Motors or Chrysler) led to the loss of some 100,000 jobs, and many of the closures took place in rural areas--areas where Barack Obama did not do well in the election of November 2008.  I strongly urge you to read that article since it shows more that is bad about Barack Obama and the Barack Obama administration and socialism and other defective ideologies!

Here is a item that I could have put in the previous edition of T.H.A.T., but I purposely held it over for this edition, and, certainly, your favorite television newscast did not cover the item.  On July 1, 2010, the Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives pushed through an attachment to a bill, and, in essence, that attachment stated that it was "deemed as passed" a budget bill for 2011 fiscal year (no Republican voted for it and 38 Democrats voted against it in a vote that was made up of 215 "yes" votes and 210 "no" votes), and the "deemed as passed" budget was for $1.12 trillion (at least), and what happened is no debate was done on what money was going to be spent on what, and now the U.S. Congress can go about spending on a whim basis for the 2011 fiscal year.  The pushing through of the "deemed as passed" budget of sorts sets a prescedent, which almost had happened in the process to pass the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, which was passed, in essence, illegally and almost with the help of what was called the "Slaughter Solution."  (Hair, Connie.  "House Democrats 'Deem' Faux $1.1 Trillion Budget 'as Passed.'"  Human Events, 2 July 2010.)

Oh, your favorite television newscast certainly missed the event of this paragraph.  On July 24, 2010, U.S. Representative Fortney Stark (a Democrat related to California) made this statement at a town-hall meeting in Hayward, California, "...The, the federal government, dah, yes, can do most anything in this country...."  He responded to a woman who had wondered what the limits were on politicians and he showed he promotes iron-fisted total-control government, like that of a communist country, where dissenters are, for example, imprisoned or killed.  Think about what this man would want the United States of America to become.

Warning with commentary (which will exist in every edition of T.H.A.T. through November 2010) --  Since T.H.A.T. #71 was published, the federal government--mostly Democrats in the U.S. Congress and Barack Obama--created a health-care system for the country.  To make the laws for the health-care system, the U.S. Congress--the Democrats, such as the head of U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, and the head of the U.S. Senate violated The U.S. Constitution; for example, bills are supposed to originate in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the main health-care bill (the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010) did not, having officially originated in the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. Congress, under the direction of the Democrats, used the process known as "reconciliation" to pass the health-care bill.  In addition, the new law has things that go against The U.S. Constitution or are underhanded; for example, the law requires all citizens to purchase a product--in this case, health-care insurance--which has never been allowed or done before since The U.S. Constitution does not allow such a rule to exist, and in the process to complete the new health-care bill, the bill had an attached bill that had nothing to do with health care, and that other bill when it was made law put the federal government in complete charge of the student-loan system of the country (the federal government had nationalized the student-loan system).  At the moment, a national election is scheduled for November 2010.  If people exist in the U.S. Congress who are willing to violate The U.S. Constitution, what are the odds that those people would work to block an election in some way, such as by passing a voting law attached to some big law not associated with voting that would block the election from ever taking place?

In the previous edition of T.H.A.T., I talked about Undercover Boss, particularly the episode that focused on Hooters, the restaurant chain.  On the day that I published the previous edition of T.H.A.T.--which is officially T.H.A.T. #75--Spike TV showed a program in primetime called The Hooters 2010 International Swimsuit Pageant.  I bet the program was not done at a beach along the Gulf of Mexico, especially a beach that has been purposely hurt by Barack Obama in relation to the oil-rig disaster of April 20, 2010 (for more informtion about that subject you should see my document entitled The Oil-Rig Disaster of April 20, 2010: Evidence that Shows Barack Obama Purposely Wanted to Hurt the Beaches, which can be reached by using this Oil Rig link, and I have additional information about beaches in Michigan Travel Tips #76, which can be reached by using this Travel #76 link).  Oh, rats!  I was unable to see The Hooters 2010 International Swimsuit Pageant.  Were there any "erotics" on the show?   (Oh, by the way, since the last edition of T.H.A.T. was published, I found a "Hooters" medalian of sorts (a gal next to a motorcycle) on the around along US-23 in Presque Isle County of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.)

On Saturday, July 24, 2010, I happened to catch an episode of Old Autos Television on WMYD-TV, Channel 20, at 8:30 a.m., and it was a syndicated episode that ran for about thirty minutes and was produced somewhat locally--produced in nearby Canada.  The host of the series was Rick Walker, and on the show some of the reporters were Amanda Lee (Amanda Degencis) and Elyse Dagencis.  This very low-budget show had poor end credits, done as hand writing, so it was difficult to read some of the names.  At one point in the show, Amanda Lee and another staffer (a guy) were at the Canadian Transportation Museum, where they talked with Harry Bergman of the museum about an exhibit focusing on CKLW-AM (the "Big 8"), which existed from the late 1950s to the 1980s in Windsor, Ontario, Canada (to learn a bit more about the radio station, you should see T.H.A.T. #21, which can be reached by using this link: T.H.A.T. #21).  The presentation about CKLW-AM was a little deceiving, since the presentation sort of said that the station was on in the 1950s and 1960s and did not make it clear that the heyday was from about 1967 to the mid-1970s, and, for example, the presentation gave the impression that things were happening at times when they were not (an example is they did not make it clear that Byron MacGregor was important at the station as a star in the late 1960s to the early 1970s).  Oh, well.  By the way, the male staffer of Old Autos Television who did interviewing during the segment about CKLW-AM was listed on the screen as "Rick Walker," but it was not the host, and it seems to me it was Jordan Trovillion (which was the name of a reporter listed on the end credits and which may be spelled wrong because it was hard to read the letters).  Basically, Old Autos Television is a short-run series that is shown on a weekly basis, and it will probably only be broadcast on the station for a few more weeks, but I am unsure about that.  Old Autos Television is a production of Maverick Multimedia Inc.

Advertisement: In March 2009, a book called Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, which had been written by Mark R. Levin, was published.  Through the book, Mark R. Levin talks about how tyranny has been creeping into the country, and he also talks about how the country has been changing from a representative republic, which has a constitution as a basis, to something, yet to be defined, and although Mark R. Levin says that it is the statist who is causing the change, especially those who are a part of the Democratic Party and in government jobs, I say that it is communists, socialists, would-be dictators, and Marxists, such as Barack Obama, who are making the changes, such as by discarding The U.S. Constitution.  I urge you to see and read Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, and pass it on to others, especially teenagers and young adults (and consider listening to The Mark Levin Show, the nationally syndicated radio show, on a regular basis).

Did your favorite television newscast cover a statement made by Erskine Boles on Sunday, June 11, 2010?  It was reported by, for example, RealClearPolitics.  Barack Obama acreated a debt commission, and one man put on the commision was Erskine Boles, who became the co-chairman, and the man said on Sunday, July 11, 2010: "...What's clear, ah, to me from just glancing at it is that, if we don't restore some fiscal sanity around here as a nation, we are gonna go broke.  Ah, I know it's not a word people like to use, but it happens to be true.  We face the most predictable economic crisis in history, and if we stay on automatic pilot, the debt we are accumulating will be like a cancer--it will definitately destroy this country from within...."

So, on Saturday, July 24, 2010, in the evening, I finally had a chance to try to get sample credits for The Bridge, which had been shown for three weeks already on CBS-TV.  I started the recorder so that I could get sample credits, but an episode of Cold Case came on, so I turned the channel. The next day, I was able to get sample credits by watching an episode of The Bridge on the Internet,  and I found is was another dark and depressing and boring show, and it was another show that lacked any "fun."

Well, On Saturday, July 24, 2010, late in the evening, I turned on the this network (or this) and discovered the network was running a series entitled Home Run Derby, which was a half-hour filmed series of around 1960.  I saw four episodes, the first of which had Mickey Mantle going against Willie Mays in a game of home-run derby.  Mickey won.  The next episode had Mickey Mantle going against Ernie Banks (I learned, by watching Ernie Banks, he seemed to use little effort when he swung the bat, and yet he could whack the ball).  Mickey won again in the episode though.  The next episode had Mickey Mantle taking on Jackie Jensen.  Mickey won once more.  The next episode had Mickey Mantle battling against Harmon Killebrew.  This time, Harmon Killebrew won, and that meant Harmon Killebrew would get to take on someone else in the next episode.  The host was Mark Scott, and the umpire was Art Passarella, who had worked in the major leagues.  Generally speaking, in each episode, two professoral baseball players played nine innings of trying to hit home runs--a player got up to the plate and took pitches--and hits that were not home runs, hits that were fouled off, and such were considered "outs" and home runs kept a player batting.  For example, a player might only be up for three pitches each inning, or a player could be up for eight or nine pitches.  By the way, two pitchers--who were unnamed--threw the balls; they rotated innings.  The banter during the contest between the host and each player was weak, but I enjoyed seeing players who I had become familiar with when I first got interested in baseball, an interest that was much higher than it is today.  I do not know how often the this network will play episodes of Home Run Derby.  Tune in on Saturday evenings--the latter part of prime time--for a while to see if there are some episodes on the screen, or find the schedule for the this network (which is a network used on subchannels of stations).  If children get to see some of the episodes, they will be able to see some big-name players of the past.  By the way, Home Run Derby came from Homer Productions and Ziv Television, and the producer was Lou Breslow, who died in 1987, and the director was Ben Stoloff, and the show was "produced with multiple cameras."

Announcement for the novice again: To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, go to Fox News Channel, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama, as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (to learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the Fox News Channel and those mentioned with it in presenting political stories and events, and you should discover CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV avoid covering things that make Barack Obama look bad or show his true nature, which could harm you).  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.

During the confirmation hearings about Elena Kagan's maybe becoming a member of the U.S. Supreme Court, she would not or could not answer the question about whether or not the federal government could tell people what to eat and what not to eat.  Then, at an NAACP convention on Monday, July 12, 2010, Michelle Obama said: "...How 'bout replacing all of that soda and those sugary drinks with water.  Kids won't like it a first.  Trust me!  But they'll grow to like it.  Or deciding that they don't get dessert with every meal.  As I tell my kids, 'Dessert's not a right.'  Or they don't get it every day.  Or just being more thoughtful about how we prepare our food, baking instead of frying.  I know.  Don't shoot me!  And cuttin' back on those portion sizes...."  It was on July 12, 2010, that, in essence, the NAACP condemned the "tea-party" movement.  And that is more news your favorite television newscast probably did not cover.

I do hope your favorite television newscast covered the vote on the DISCLOSE Act in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, but I bet your favorite television newscast did not cover it.  Because your favorite newscast may not have covered the vote or because you have have missed seeing a useful report about it given by your favorite television newscast, I have this paragraph for you.  The vote was about a bill, which--I will say--was about censorship and political speech.  You are urged to read my document entitled Fairness?: A Guide for the Individual Woman and the Individual Man in the United States of America, which has information about the DISCLOSE Act and and which can be reached by using this Fairness link, and you are also urged to see my document entitled Enemies of the United States of America: Politicians Who Have Hurt You and Your Family by Voting "Yes" on Bad Federal Bills, which gives information about who voted "yes" for the bill and who voted "no" for the bill, which gives information about the votes on other bills, and which can be reached by using this Enemies link.

Warning and commentary: It seems very likely you have not heard much about the United Nations climate-change treaty that many politicians, such as Barack Obama, are hoping to create, because the main media, such as NBC-TV, care not if the United States of America becomes just another country governed under a proposed international main communist country and if The U.S. Constitution and rights for you get trumped by international laws, such as Sharia Law and communist rules of other countries of the world.  Over the next few weeks or months, you are going to learn how deep the evilness is within the main media of the United States of America.  If you have little information in your mind about the badness of the proposed treaty, you should see what I have passed along to you from Lord Christopher Monckton in my document entitled World Tyranny: Warnings about the Insane Who are Trying to Create a Communist World Country, and I say that, through it, you will get a better appreciation of your enemy (and to see World Tyranny: Warnings about the Insane Who are Trying to Create a Communist World Country, you can use this link: World).  When you have an enemy, you hate the enemy and you shut the enemy down!  The war is on, and you do not have to be nice!

Let me take a break to talk about something important to real men, who seem to be disappearing in this country, since a lot of young guys seem to be mentally highly feminized, and the topic is good-looking women--not the type pushed regularly on television.  WTVS-TV (Channel 56 in Detroit), which is a PBS-associated station, puts out a monthly (roughly) program guide for viewers entitled Signal, and Volume 14, No. 4, was for June/July 2010, and on page 34, was a simple article called "Trailblazer!", which was a short piece by Naomi Mendelson Siegel, and on the page was what appeared to be a late-1960s photograph of a woman holding a camera.  The article was a little unclear, but it seems the woman in the photograph was Naomi Mendelson Siegel.  Whoever the woman was, she is a type of woman not seen on television today.  She was quite handsome and pleasant.  Now, let me jump to the edition of TV Guide for July 19-August 1, 2010.  On page 35 of that edition of TV Guide is an article of sorts entitled "Cat's Finest Fashions," and it had some text and four photographs of Cat Deeley, who is the host of So You Think You Can Dance, which is a series on Fox TV.  Well, the four photographs were used to show Cat Deeley in four different fashions, and, to me, three of the fashions were horrible and made Cat Deeley look terrible, and one (in which she was wearing a gold-like dress) was fair.  Really, the problem is Cat Deeley looked horrible.  She looked ill.  She looked as if she were anorexic.  Cat Deeley looked as if she had no muscles and had never used her muscles.  Her legs were horrible.  So, is this what guys like today?  Supposely, sex sells on television.  However, Cat Deeley sold nothing.  Make the host of So You Think You Can Dance some real gal like what appears to be Naomi Mendelson Siegel of that photograph in Signal.  [Somebody should tell Cat Deeley that she does not look well.]

I wonder when NBC-TV, MSNBC, CBS-TV, ABC-TV, et cetera will present a television program that shows the bad of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009, which was made a law on July 2, 2010.  Well, it will probably not be soon.  Till then, you should see my document entitled The So-Called "Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009": Deception, Lies, and the Government Takeover, which talks about some of the bad of the act and which can be reached by using this link: Protection?.

Warning with commentary (which will exist in every edition of T.H.A.T. through November 2010) --  Let me pass along information to show why it is important for every good American to vote against all Barack Obama supporters in elections in November 2010, and it means every good American, such as those who in the past have avoided voting, must vote.  In December 2009, the citizens of the United States of America and other countries "dodged a bullet" when no international climate-change treaty was agreed to in Copenhagen, which must have greatly disappointed Barack Obama, since such an international treaty would have set down rules that would have supplanted laws in the United States of America, but I here make a note that, about a year ago, some people were reporting on Web sites, such as that of the Gun Owners of America, that Barack Obama was pushing for an international gun treaty, and now that you know more about what Barack Obama is, a bad man, I report that Barack Obama is a type of man who--it seems to me--would really like to have such a treaty enacted since it would reduce the ability of Americans to fight back against enemies who enter the country from other places and to fight back against a radical government.  It takes the U.S. Senate to ratify a treaty signed by a U.S. President, and Americans must make sure the U.S. Senate gets more "conservatives" through the next election to make sure an international treaty about gun control would never be ratified by the U.S. Senate.  (You are urged to see my document entitled "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, which can be reached by using this link: Carbon.)

Okay, I must say that I do not watch regularly the local television newscasts, since the productions are shallow and the people on the screen are shallow.  In the fall of 2009, I did watch all the locally produced newscasts to see what people were on the air and to collect information for a survey about reporters and news anchors on Detroit television stations.  Since June 10, 2010, I did watch a few locally produced newscasts, and I noticed that some stations have some new on-air talent.  Scott Lewis is now a special reporter for WXYZ-TV; he had been at WJBK-TV recently and had been for a number of years.  I saw Alexis Wylie (a street reporter) on WJBK-TV, Kila Peeples (a street reporter) on WMYD-TV, Olga Breese (a weather reporter who started in July 2010) on WXYZ-TV, and Brandon Roux (a weather reporter) on WDIV-TV.  I do not have the exact start dates for the reporters, but I do note that they started somewhat recently.
I note the above while wondering if any will be on television in Detroit any length of time, such as for decades.  Jac LeGoff was basically a fixture on television newscasts from the 1950s to 1990, working at WJBK-TV, WXYZ-TV, and CKLW-TV, the former two of which are in Detroit, Michigan, and the latter one of which is in Windsor, Ontario, Canada (though now as CBET-TV); Jac LeGoff died on Sunday, July 25, 2010.  Weatherman and sometimes news anchor Jerry Hodak announced recently that he is retiring in September 2010, and Jerry Hodak has worked in television in Detroit since the 1960s, working at WJBK-TV and WXYZ-TV (where he currently is).

Public Service Announcement: If you wish to avoid giving a donation to nonprofit groups that support "manmade global warming" legislation or "manmade climate-change" legislation, such as the very bad American Clean Energy and Security Act (which is also known as the Waxman-Markey Bill), give to something better--particularly the Heritage Foundation and the Landmark Legal Foundation, which are organizations that support The U.S. Constitution and are working to defeat Barack Obama's plans to take over the country.   (You should see my document entitled "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, which can be reached through this link: Carbon.)

Hot dog!  I have another one of those "Did Your Favorite Television Newscast Cover This? section.  Since July 10, 2010, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (a Republican related to North Carolina) has again showed that he is a defective U.S. Senator, and one time he did that was done on July 20, 2010, through his making comments about Elena Kagan, a woman who, at the time, was being considered to become a member of the U.S. Supreme Court.  In noting to the press that Lindsey Graham was going to vote "yes" for Elena Kagan, Lindsey Graham said, for example, "...And it would  not have been someone I would, I would have chosen, but the person who did choose--President Barack Obama--I think chose wisely...."  Yes, Lindsey Graham would not have chosen her, but he will vote for her, though history shows that Barack Obama nominates and appoints bad people to government positions.  [For more information about Lindsey Graham, see the "Lindsey Graham" section of the document entitled Political Lessons for the Individual Woman and the Individual Man in the United States of America, which can be reached by using this Lessons link, and for more information about Elena Kagan, you are urged to see the document entitled Justice for All?: The Rules are Changing Under Barack Obama, which can be reached by using this Justice link, and you should see my document entitled THE CRUD AROUND BARACK OBAMA: My Rule--"Like Minds Get Together", which can be reached through this Crud link and which shows only some of the bad people Barack Obama has as associates today.]

Here is something that should never be forgotten.  U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd (a Democrat related to Connecticut) made this statement on the floor of the U.S. Senate on Thursday, July 15, 2010, the day on which the U.S. Congress finished passing the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act: "...Ah, it is not a perfect bill.  I'll be the first to admit that.  We don't know ultimately how well the ideas we've incorporated here will achieve the results we all desire.  It'll take the next economic crisis--as certainly as it will come--to determine whether or not the provisions of this bill will actually provide this generation or the next generation of regulators with the tools necessary to mimimize the effects of that crisis when it happens...."  Yes, you see some thinking of Christopher Dodd's.

In my television files, I have cards related to all types of awards shows, such as The People's Choice Awards (which has been an annual event for decades), BET Hip Hop Awards, AVN Adult Movie Awards, The Game Show Awards, Food Network Awards, UK Music Hall of Fame, and Action Sports Awards, and, in fact, I have a list of a couple hundred different types of awards shows that have been shown on television.  On Monday, July 19, 2010, VH1 aired an awards show in prime time, and it was called Do Something Awards, which was hosted by Jane Lynch   I'm glad I did not see it since it was an awards show that honored "social activists" who are under twenty-five yeras of age.  When you mention "social activism" to me, I think about communists and socialists and--Barack Obama.

Public Service Announcement: Rules for Radicals, which is a book put together by Saul Alinsky (a communist) about 40 years ago, is a book that Barack Obama is very familiar with and follows, and if you wonder what you can do in relation to Barack Obama to beat him, I say, "Well, see my document entitled Rules of a Radical Destroyer: The Barack Obama Case, which can be reached though this link: Radical.

Oh, one of my favorite broadcast channels of those available in the Detroit area is gone.  Sometime in late May 2010 or early June 2010, WXYZ-TV shut down its 7.3 (a subchannel), which had had a weather/color radar presentation most of the time (there was some other programming for a few hours a week, such as a block of children's programming on Saturday).  Rats!

Since the last edition of T.H.A.T. was published, I saw some old episode of Daniel Boone, which featured Fess Parker as Daniel Boone.  It had been decades since I had thought about the lyrics to the opening them.  Here are the lyrics:

    Daniel Boone
    Daniel Boone
What a doer, what a dream come truer was Daniel Boone
From the coonskin cap on the top of old Dan
to the heel of his rawhide shoe
The rippinest, roarenist, fightenist man the frontier ever knew
    Daniel Boone was a man
    Yes, A big man
As he fought for America to make all Americans free
What a Boon, what a doer, what a dream come a truer was he.

Yes, those lyrics would probably irrate most television producers today, and most television producers would never put on a television show with such lyrics today, and that shows the state of television.

By the way, in one episode of Daniel Boone, Daniel Boone had to deal with a killer bear (one guest performer on the episode was Slim Pickens).  At the end of the episode, some words were carved in a tree.  These were the words:

    Danl Boone
    Kilt a Bar
    September 7.

I saw the episodes of Daniel Boone on the Retro Television Network.

Incidentally, you may have seen Fess Parker in an old clip presented in the special called Soupy Sales: The Whole Gang is Here!!!!, which was aired on PBS-associated stations in July 2010 and August 2010 (it had been given a premiere showing on WLIW-TV, on April 24, 2010).  The special had clips from The Soupy Sales Show of the 1960s and The New Soupy Sales Show of the late 1970s, and, of course, the show focused on Soupy Sales, who had come to fame on television in Detroit in the 1950s and then had become a nationally known celebrity.  One of the clips in the special was the famous "The Waiter" sketch from the 1960s, in which Frank Sinatra, Trini Lopez, and Sammy Davis Jr. took part in a pie-throwing event at the restaurant called "Chez Bippy."  Other persons seen in clips were Alice Cooper, Dick Van Patten, and William B. Williams.  Clips of Soupy Sales' shows can be found on the Internet, such as on YouTube.

A reminder (updated): Remember to tell your children and grandchildren that they should never pledge to be a "servant to Obama" or a servant to any president, which was a topic in T.H.A.T. #58, and remember to tell them to not blindly "believe" in leaders, and that is a lesson in this edition of T.H.A.T., as it was in the past and will be in the future.  By the way, remember, in the "Presidential Video," which is one topic of T.H.A.T. #58, one male says, "I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama."; one female says, "I pledge to be a servant to our president."  And make sure your children and grandchildren are not singing songs at school that praise Barack Obama, which has been done by children at some schools around the country since January 2009, since children should never sing songs that praise any politician, especially a megalomaniac and narcissist like Barack Obama.

I end this edition of T.H.A.T. by talking about a very good television show (though I have, over the years, uncovered some productions errors, but errors do occur when making shows, from Star Trek to Star Wars). The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s.  Again I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

Vic

P.S. #1: The telephone number of the U.S. Congressional Switchboard is: 1-202-224-3121.  (Use it to fight against the creation of a national-health-care system, especially a system pushed through law by a defective thinker, a man who has created nothing, and a man whose history is mostly filled with tearing things down, a man who continually puts down the U.S.A.--Barack Obama.  By the way, one of the more recent events in which he put down the entire business community of the country took place on Wednesday May 13, 2009, and you should see the second entry for Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in the document entitled Nonsense Statements and Quotations of Barack Obama).

P.S. #2: Do not forget that, since late 2008, I have put within editions of Michigan Travel Tips information about "green technology," "global warming" stuff, and "climate change" stuff, and to get to the catalog for all the Michigan Travel Tips publications, use this link: Travel.
