There comes a point in working to sell a point that things can turn into nonsense, and, in fact, the result can be something that is comical and cartoonish and foolish and stupid.  Over the last couple decades or so, gay and lesbian people have been pushing government people and other people to paint things in a "rainbow" pattern of some type (with blue, green, yellow, orange, and red, for instance).  Ferndale, Michigan, is one such place where that action has been going on, so parts and things in the city end up with rainbow crosswalks and rainbow this and that.  A couple years ago, some lesbians were urging a friend of mine to paint what were painted yellow (guard poles) into a rainbow pattern.  It would have looked jackass, and it would have been bowing to political bullshit!  Recently, I saw a story in the Detroit Free Press (a socialistic and communistic newspaper based in Detroit) called "Daughters inspire 'boring' Omaha dad to paint house in rainbow colors" [Martin, Saleen.  "Daughters inspire 'boring' Omaha dad to paint house in rainbow colors."  Detroit Free Press, 3 December 2023, pp. 8D.], and I bet the story appeared in newspapers all over the country (since the story was attached to the USA Today entity), and the story (for Detroit) covered, basically, one full page.  The publishers of the Detroit Free Press wasted a full page on something that took up space that could have been used to publish other stories that would have had more value now and in years to come (if they are looked back at in the future).  The story worked to sell the idea that the rainbow-colored house was great, such as by pointing out the kids like to see it, but I say that the house looks stupid, and it is political bullshit!   Fortunately for at least me, the house, which is in Nebraska, is not in Michigan!  And when you travel in Michigan, you will not find it, and that opens this edition of Michigan Travel Tips.

In the late 1940s and in the 1950s, it was possible to see on Detroit television local racing shows, such at midge-car racing at Motor City Speedway.  I know motorcycle racing was shown on television, too.  In addition, children were featured in soap-box derby racing.  I have not heard about any soap-box derby racing going on in Michigan on for some time, though it may have been going on (but it goes on unreported and so goes the news business these days).  Car racing and motorcycle racing are yet going on in Michigan, but the events never get broadcast on television any more.  And at this time of the year, no auto racing or motorcycle racing is going on in Michigan, and, generally speaking, auto racing and motorcycle racing in Michigan takes places at the few racing places in Michigan between April and October of a year.  At this time of the year and for a few months, guys and gals have time to work on vehicles that could be entered in races; for example, complete engine rebuilds can take place easily.  By the way, I regularly drive by a racing place at Onaway on usual long-distance drives in Michigan, and that place is the Onaway Speedway.  Two places that I have never driven by or seen or been at are the Northern Michigan Speedway, which is located an Elmira (of Otsego County of the Lower Peninsula), and Northern Michigan Dragway, which is located at Bear Lake (of Manistee County of the Lower Peninsula).  In a way, the places are fairly close to one another.  With information about the names of the places in mind, a person could call one other.  Northern Michigan Speedway and Northern Michigan Dragway were founded in 1969.  Northern Michigan Dragway is a place for drag races, which can involve, for example, motorcycles and dragsters, one-type of which is the top-fuel dragster.  In contrast, Northern Michigan Speedway is a place with a quarter-mile oval race track.  Now, I mention these places, because it seems many young guys do not think about having fun doing some racing at one of these places some day.  Of course, that means that a guy--to get involved in such racing, which is not super-high-end racing by professional racing companies and teams--has to learn a little bit about cars, especially engines of cars, and such.  At the moment, a guy would not have to learn about the running parts of an electric car (an EV).  In the future, if racing with only EVs takes place, about the only noise that fans will have at an event is the possible running of tires.  There will be no revving engines, and there will be no exhaust noise.  It will be rather crappy!  In essence, the people pushing for electric cars are going to hurt car racing at race places in the state, and the people will hurt tourism in Michigan and kill jobs.  Of course, maybe a new type of race will develop, in which people race electric cars through small ponds and puddles to see if their vehicles can get through the water without shorting out--the car that gets across the water in the fastest time will be the winner.  The losers will be shocked!  For something different to do this coming race season, which shows up in a couples months already, think about seeing the guys and gals making noise at the Northern Michigan Speedway or the Northern Michigan Dragway.

Warning announcement!  Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips.  The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islamic law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law."  Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining  business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia."  When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion, and it promotes killing of non-followers behind the face of religion and a god, Allah).  By the way, a society based on "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping the ideas of the society based on ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders), whose main purpose is to keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really.  Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than the U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.

The opening paragraph of this edition of Michigan Travel Tips showed you a jackass idea, and this closing paragraph is doing the same.  On November 30, 2023, the Detroit Free Press pushed out a story called "Special EV-charging roadway would be first of its kind in US" [Lawrence, Eric D.  "Special EV-charging roadway would be first of its kind in US."  Detroit Free Press, 30 November 2023, pp. 1B and 2B.].  Look the opening material for the article--"The Motor City can add a new claim to fame, as home to the country's first wireless-charging public roadway for electric vehicles.  On Wednesday, members of the news media got a chance to see it in action.  A blue electric Ford E-Transit commercial van was able to charge as it moved over the quarter-mile stretch of newly paved 14th Street, a short distance from the towering Michigan Central Station, thanks to rubber-coated copper coils buried underneath the road surface.  A large video screen set up for the occasion outside Newlab, the rehabilitated Book Depository, showed the kilowatts generated and the speed as the van made its passes on the street.  Those numbers would fluctuate as the van moved along, 16 kw and 9 mph at one point, with the van at a 63% charge.  'It may seem small now, but it's a huge step' in getting this to scale, Joshua Sirefman, CEO of Michigan Central, the Ford subsidiary running a 'mobility innovation district' in Corktown, said before the demonstration began.  'The implications are truly staggering....".  Hold it!  "Staggering" in relation to idiocy comes to my mind.  How are people going to pay for the charge?  Is government going to determine the price and collect the fee?  In Michigan, winter comes and causes pavement move and shift, and that can break up the roadway.  I believe it will take more money to make roads with the technology, and the roads will break down easier (having more parts in them), and the roads will be more expensive to repair.  Where are the roads going to be set up?  Will people have to go out of their ways to get to such roads?  Hey look at the second-to-the-last paragraph of the article--"The cost for this project, according to MDOT, is $1.9 million in state funds and $4 million from the Electreon team and others.".  Maybe--maybe--the idea could have value in some non-winter state--that is, one without cold weather and snowstorms--but I think it is a waste of money.  There is no need for such a system, which will have to be overseen by more government people--probably jackasses.  Yes, the Motor City came up with a first--but not the first nonsense to come out of the Motor City.

By the way, Ferndale is one of some cities in Michigan that have put up stanchions on some roads, which are to mark bicycle routes on roads, and since Michigan gets snowstorms, it is a jackass idea, since it wastes money, given snowplows can be blocked from clearing roads better, and they could get knocked down by snowplows and other vehicles, and I have been seen fairly new stanchions already knocked down, and there is more government waste.

    Enjoy your traveling in Michigan!

And keep aware of the rotten people in Michigan.

    Stay well!

    Victor
