Special Important Announcement

Now I have a document at the website for The Hologlobe Press entitled A COVID-19 Document that Shows the Rottenness of the CDC, Many in the Medical Community, Many in the Media, and All the Democrats, such as Gretchen Whitmer, Andrew Cuomo, and Joseph Biden, and the document can be reached by using this COVID-19 link.

- - - Travel Thoughts for Everyone - - -

Over the years and decades, I have stopped in to "Big Boy"-type restaurants, and I happen to have several "Big Boy" banks, one of which is the version of the early 1970s, and, by the way, I happened to be seeing a gal (who was Ukrainian) decades ago, and, for a short period of time, she had relatives visit from France, one of whom was a two-year-old boy, and I gave a gift to the boy (for fun) one day, and it was one of those 1970s-type "Big Boy" banks (or dolls), and I think the cute "Big Boy" made a nice rugged souvenir from Michigan for a little boy visiting from France.  I note the previous information to make it clear that what I am about to write in not put down on this document to pull down "Big Boy" restaurants.  A few weeks ago, I once again went to a "Big Boy" restaurant, having not been in such a place for maybe three years (blocked part of the time by Governor Gretchen Whitmer's orders to close restaurants during the peak of the COVID-19 days).  On the visit, I noticed the prices of some items were much higher than I remembered them being several years ago, such as before 2020.  Some items did not seem to be much different in price.  I took a portable menu home with me, and at home, I compared it with one that had a copyright date of 2014.  In 2014, the famous item called the "Slim Jim" cost $7.69, and the "Patty Melt" cost $8.39; in 2023, the "Slim Jim" was listed at $8.99, and the "Patty Melt" was at $11.49.  That is not too bad of a change in price, considering what inflation can do over time.  Some of the big shockers were the "Classic Big Boy" hamburger and the "Super Big Boy" hamburger.  In 2014, the "Classic" cost $6.39, and the "Super" cost $8.39; in 2023, the "Classic" was at $9.49, and the "Super" was at $13.49.  Yikes!  In addition, I noticed the 2023 menu had fewer items than the 2014 menu had.  When I was recently at that "Big Boy" restaurant, I ordered the "Classic Big Boy," and I thought about how meat prices have been going up because of actions and such implemented by the Democrats in public offices, such as the office of the U.S. president.  Incidentally, a cup of soup cost $2.49 in 2014 and costs $4.99 today, and I wonder if the cup has been "down-sized."  Since about 2008, I have seen the "regular" size of potato chip bags go from 11 ounces to 10.5 ounces to 10 ounces to 9.5 ounces to 9 ounces and so on, and now 8.5 ounces is commonplace, and I have seen how toilet paper rolls have become less wide.  Inflation can cause "deflation" in the size of things!  After four years of "Biden-inflation," I could be looking at a $20.00 "Classic Big Boy" in the near future.  Holy cow!  But do not hold the "seasoning salt!"

Welcome to another edition of Michigan Travel Tips.

Warning announcement!  Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips.  The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islamic law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law."  Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining  business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia."  When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion, and it promotes killing of non-followers behind the face of religion and a god, Allah).  By the way, a society based on "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping the ideas of the society based on ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders), whose main purpose is to keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really.  Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than the U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.  [Note: On October 7, 2023, people who support Sharia and Islamic law, which is designed to put down people who are not followers and even kill people who are no followers, started up a war with Israel from Gaza, and that is what crap you get from Shariaists and like people, such as socialists and communists, and it was Palestinians of Gaza who had put the politicians in control of Gaza into power through elections, and so the people of Gaza are expendable in war and are not to have sympathy for.]

I only recently learned that James Earl Jones, the famous American actor and voice-over artist, grew up in the Manistee area of Michigan (of Manistee County of the Lower Peninsula), and I only recently learned that he had trouble with stuttering years ago, and I also learned he was helped in tackling the stuttering problem by a man named Donald Crouch.  On October 14, 2023, bronze statues of both men were unveiled to the public at Brethren, Michigan, particularly at the Kaleva Norman Dickson Schools complex.  Both statues were set up on the theme of "mentorship," and both statues were created by Bernadette Zachara Marcos.  The statues are life-sized statues.  If you wish to see the statues some day, head to 4400 North High Bridge Road, Brethren, Michigan.

Well it looks as if this edition of Michigan Travel Tips is developing into something different.  A few days before I would post this edition of Michigan Travel Tips on the Internet (at the website for The Hologlobe Press), I looked in my files, and I saw "Luckhard Mission Museum" listed, and it was something that I had not thought about a long while and it was something that I had not put in a Michigan Travel Tips document before.  I went to see if the place had a website, which might show stuff that I was unaware the museum now has.  I got sidetracked to St. Louis, Missouri, and I ended up at the website tied to the Concordia Historical Institute, particularly a webpage called "Pieces of Our Past No. 45".  The page has a bit of history of the Luckhard Mission Museum, and beyond that text that gives history, there are some photographs--the photographs show off a model of the museum or, really, the original form of the house, and it was a model that was made in 1963 by George L. Buettner.  I looked over the model, which was shown from several angles, and I looked at the dimensions.  The model is about the size of the model for 40 Mile Point Lighthouse (the real lighthouse of which is located about seven miles north of Rogers City, Michigan, along Lake Huron) that I finished making in late 2020.  The house--the model--by George L. Buettner is 15 by 15 by 11 in inches.  It is a petty piece of work by George L. Buettner.  To see the model and read history information, go to the Concordia Historical Institute on the Internet, and then look for the document that is numbered "No. 45".  Now, let me get to the real thing, which is located in Sebewing, Michigan; it was moved from the original location--Shebahyonk, Michigan--some seventy years ago.  I have to report that the museum is closed for the tourism season.  Normally, it is open in summers, particularly on weekends for a few hours in summers.  For now, I cannot head you off to see the Luckhard Mission Museum, but you can see it now, if you only wish to see the outside.  Plan to see it next year.  You will have time to do a little research about it before the next summer comes.  But right now I really do urge you to see the model of the house that is now the location for Luckhard Mission Museum at the website for the Concordia Historical Institute.

And here is an unusual closing section for a Michigan Travel Tips document.  In October 2023, I was involved in putting new tires on a 2016 GMC Acadia that I drive, and, really, the tire-service company put the tires on the wheels, but I took the wheels off the vehicle and put them back on, since I did not what air tools used to take the lug nuts off and put the lug nuts on, since people who use such tools ruin the lug nuts if the lug nuts are made like those for the Acadia, which have stainless-steel covers [Note: A few years ago, I bought new lug nuts for the vehicle for about $120.00, since the originals were breaking apart because they had been attacked with air tools.].  I told the reception man at the tire-service place--"Jerry," who was about to retire in a few days--that, in the past, I often dealt with Warholak Tire Service, Dearborn, Michigan.  On November 2, 2023, I got a surprise.  An article in the Detroit Free Press for November 2, 2023 [Rubin, Neal.  "WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD TO NEW DREAMS," Detroit Free Press, 2 November 2023, pp. 4A and 9A.] reported that the guys who had run Warholak Tire Service for decades, having taken over from the original owners who had started the place in the 1930s, was being sold.  It was one of those--I'll be darned moments.  Back in the 1960s, when I was a boy, I got to see the back-room area of the place and see tire-retreading work.  And that it that, and when you pass by the place now, it is under new operators.  And I state--Do not have guys use air tools on stainless-steel-covered lug nuts to save yourself money in the long run!  The shock of the air tools screws up such lug nuts, and then they rust and expand out so that you cannot get lug wrenches on the nuts, and if you are a gal and you are on the road and if you get a flat, you end up with a crappy situation.

Oh, I have a secondary--last-moment--closing section, which could fit into a Television History and Trivia document [Note: To see Television History and Trivia documents, use this T.H.A.T. link.].  WTVS-TV, Channel 56.1, Detroit, which is a PBS-related station, airs a locally produced program called One Detroit every week, and it is socialistic, if not worse.  For the week of Monday, October 30, 2023, a portion of the program had a woman named Zoe Clark (who looked like a socialist female and feminist like that which could be found in a dictionary defining such) interviewing the rotten woman named Gretchen Whitmer (a Democrat, who is the governor of Michigan and who acts like a communist and socialist).  The interview was a fluff piece is in which the interviewer asked fluff questions and who made no challenges to anything--the useless talk--that Gretchen Whitmer had, and Gretchen Whitmer said nothing of substance, but what she did say showed offer her rottenness and shallow mind.  The two main themes were about climate change and about getting more population in the state.  For example, Gretchen Whitmer said--"...We have to combat climate change....".  Bullshit!  Gretchen Whitmer noted that young people are thinking about the issue of climate change.  I say--Who cares if they are thinking about it, given the planet is not dying, as I show in documents that I have on the Internet about the subject?  Gretchen Whitmer never offered up anything concrete about how to increase the population of Michigan, which is stagnant at best, and she talked in girlie ways.  For instance, Gretchen Whitmer did say about measuring success related to population growth, such as by enacting more laws--"success looks like Michigan being a cool place that young people are talking about moving to....".  Also, Gretchen Whitmer talked as if she were being an imaginary person, especially a young person--"...If I'm a climate activist, I want to be some where I can enjoy the outdoors and have access to this water....".  People already can enjoy the outdoors and the waters, and people have been doing it for decades and centuries!  What is stopping people from enjoying the outdoors?  Oh, there is the high cost of everything because of inflation, mostly created by Joseph Biden (another Democrat).  And when you hear a person push out "climate activist" in a way that Gretchen Whitmer did, you can tell the person doing the talk to push communism at least and enslavism.  The interview looked like Gretchen Whitmer was working to get more communists and socialists in to the state and sell more communists and socialists on moving in to the state?  Gretchen Whitmer was surely not working to convince just people to come to Michigan.  What was said by Gretchen Whitmer was said at a time when three climate-related bills were being worked on in the Michigan Legislature, which is completely controlled by Democrats (communists and socialists and the like), and the bills were being designed to get more of the state trapped into only only using wind and solar and other so-called clean energy sources.  At the time of the interview, I had yet to learn if any of the bills would lead to the state only allowing people to have EVs in the very near future, as is the case in California (a dead state).  The bills are nonsense as they stand, since the whole idea that man is killing the planet by using carbon-based fuels is shit.  And when a state or a country tries to make everything electric--one source of power--you end up with crap!  But that is what you get from people with shallow minds like that of Gretchen Whitmer, who wants Michigan to be a "cool place", which it will become when energy sources are thrown away and energy generation is thrown away, especially during a time of war.

Think about that while traveling in Michigan.

    Enjoy your traveling in Michigan!

And keep aware of the rotten people in Michigan.

    Stay well!

    Victor
