Okay, I have a prediction to make.  For at least 15 years, I have attended the plant sale at the Glen's or Family Fair stores at Rogers City, Michigan, and Cheboygan, Michigan--on the same first two days--when it is held, usually on the weekend after the Memorial Day weekend holiday.  I am worried it might not be held next year.  This year was a bomb!  The management of the grocery store chain changed supplier, going this year with Andy Mast Greenhouses, which is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  I have to report that the plants that I saw this year (Thursday, June 1, 2023, and Friday, June 2, 2023) looked okay or good.  The problem is there were fewer types of plants than there had been in the past, and a bigger problem is there were fewer color types of each plant.  For instance, I found only twenty or so geraniums in individual cartoons at the Cheboygan store when I got there, and there were only two colors; last year, there were many such plants, and there were six colors.  The two stores had no hanging fuchsias, and what hanging baskets existed were only offering about three colors of plants.  When I showed up at the Rogers City store and the Cheboygan store on the first day, I could tell the management of the grocery store chain had bought a lot fewer plants from the supplier than the management had in previous years.  The big hit came on Friday when I returned to Cheboygan.  A lot of plants were still up for sale, and few people were shopping.  In past years, a lot of people showed up on the second day, and members of the staff sort of continually played shuffle board (using brooms) with the plants by moving them and pushing them around in the parking lot, such as to get the planets in a more consolidated arrangement as people bought things.  No one of the staff was doing that on the second day (Friday) this year.  I think customers saw the lack of variety on Thursday and thought it was very weak, so they had no urge to come back on Friday.  By the way, I had to show up at Cheboygan on the following Tuesday to pick up a tool at an auto supply so that I could fix a neighbor's car, and I stopped in at the grocery store to pick up  a "flyer," and there were plants still available, and most were well wilted.  I bet the sale will not take place next year because the management will see that, this year, a lot of plants were left and people were not buying as they had in the past, and the management will blame the customer and not the self or the management, which had come up with too little variety.  Then again, maybe there will be much fewer plants for sale next year.  By the way, the stores had only two colors of begonias (six little plants to a cartoon).  I heard people thought the quality of the plants sold last year had been weaker than those offered this year, but I report that all my plants of last year survived, unless eaten by chipmunks--chipmunks seem to like the marigolds best and they leave the petunias alone.  Oh, this year, there was not much in the way of petunias, but the number of marigolds was up.  The question is--Where will I being getting a bunch of plants next year?

In recent years, socialists and communists and progressives and like rotten people have been working to get entities to remove American Indian names for all types of things, such as football teams--professional and high school and whatever--and it looks as if many American Indians have had their heads up their butts and have chosen to not complain about the work being done to, in essence, make American Indiana less seen, such as in history.  Yes, some American Indians are jackasses or crappy or rotten and some of the past were jackasses or crappy or rotten.  The name for Point Iroquois of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is a good example for the showing of the bad.  Today, Point Iroquois is known for the lighthouse that people can visit, which is a museum, and that lighthouse is the Point Iroquois Lighthouse.  Incidentally, that lighthouse was fired up for the first time on September 20, 1857.  Almost two-hundred years before the Point Iroquois Lighthouse would be fired up, two groups of American Indians had a battle in what is now known was the Point Iroquois area, and what happened is that Iroquois attacked Ojibway in the area in 1662, and the Ojibway beat down the Iroquois attack.  I do have to report that history shows that, on the North American continent over the centuries, some American Indians were holders of slaves--other American Indians. So, if you have not guessed, I report that Point Iroquois Lighthouse is the main subject presented as a place to see in Michigan.  To see when it is open to the public, you should see, for example, information on the Internet since the schedule seems to be limited.

Warning announcement!  Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips.  The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islamic law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law."  Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining  business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia."  When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion, and it promotes killing of non-followers behind the face of religion and a god, Allah).  By the way, a society based on "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping the ideas of the society based on ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders), whose main purpose is to keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really.  Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than the U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.

I use editions of Michigan Travel Tips to show what cities or towns in Michigan are rotten and maybe should be avoided.  On Monday, May 29, 2023, I found more evidence to show Ferndale, Michigan, is loaded with rotten people.  The Detroit Free Press pushed out an article called "Safe home eyed for LGBTQ seniors" [Rao, Naina.  "Safe home eyed for LGBTQ seniors."  Detroit Free Press,  29 May 2023, pp. 4A and 7A.].  Look at the opening segment of the article--"Finding safe and affordable housing is a challenged for LGBTQ people, particularly elderly people who can face difficulty in securing a permanent place to live.  A planned senior home in Ferndale will house older adults who encounter those housing struggles because of their identities.  The Rev. Roland Stringfellow, who proposed the project, said he was inspired by a mixed-use affordable housing development in Detroit that opened in October as a haven for gay and lesbian at-risk youths...."  That is crap all around!  The idea of not being able to find "safe and affordable housing" is bullshit!  Here is more bullshit, showing the taxpayer has to pay for the bullshit (the offering of, in essence, free stuff to a select few)--"The project will be built on 31850 square feet of vacant land, and funded with about $13 million from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and a $700,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy.  Cristian Yugsi, project manager for Full Circle Communities, described the development as a partnership between a nonprofit developer and a state agency.  The city of Ferndale granted the Shepherd House project 45 years of tax abatements".  The final paragraph of the article was--"This article is part of a joint solutions journalism project on caregiving and mental wellness between the Southwest Michigan Journalism Collaborative and the New York and Michigan Solutions Journalism Collaborative, a partnership of news and community organizations dedicated to rigorous and compelling reporting about successful responses to social problems.  The groups are supported by the Solutions Journalism Network.". And that is at least hard-line socialism!  And that is what underlies the structure of Ferndale, Michigan.

And, really, the project for Ferndale is discriminatory and is tied to special treatment for a tiny few, who do not deserve it!

Once again, I promote the idea of visiting woods and forests of Michigan, especially in this day and age when fires in Canada for several weeks have caused smoke to fill the skies of many places in the United States of America.  The fires are not because of man-made climate change!  Such fires have taken place on the planet for countless years.  For one, forests get old, and when forests die, trees become good fuel for fires--such as big fires covering thousands of acres--and big fires can affect the weather and cause more lightning, which can start up more fires.  A person has to keep in mind that the person will find no trees of, for the most part, five-hundred years old and one-thounsand years old and older on the planet, because big fires have wiped them out in the past, and new trees have taken up the space, and it has been a continuing cycle.  If man wants to reduce fires, old and dead timber and other timber must be harvested and used in some way.  By the way, in Michigan Travel Tips #227, I talk about some fallen trees that I had to deal with, using my new Stihl MS-261 C-M chainsaw, and near where those trees were are a lot of trees that are dead or very old, such as around one-hundred-fifty years old, and those trees that still stand could be a big problem, like so many trees that exist on the planet.  Nature does what it does, and nature often involves fires--big fires.  When you go to a woods or forest in Michigan this summer, look at the trees, and see if the woods or forest seems to be a potentially good place where a fire could start in a thunderstorm with lightning.  Some areas might look young and new, and some areas might look old and dead.  So it goes!  And you will never get rid of fires, since nature involves fires, even if man is not around!

Again I say that I put in some news stories in Michigan Travel Tips so that you can have something to talk about while traveling in Michigan, such as to a forest or woods to look for whatever, and I put the stuff in to show that Michigan has a bunch of shitty people.  On June 2, 2023, the Detroit Free Press published a story called "Gov. Whitmer launches new effort to grow population in Michigan" [Hendrickson, Clara.  "Gov. Whitmer launches new effort to grow population in Michigan." Detroit Free Press, 2 June 2023, pp. 4A and 8A.]  Look at a portion of the article--"MACKINAC ISLAND -- Gov. Gretchen Whitmer launched a new effort Thursday aimed at reversing Michigan's sluggish population growth, tapping a bipartisan duo to lead the initiative along with Michigan's first 'chief growth officer.'...."  So some more jackasses are going to get paid using taxpayer money in relation to nonsense!  Here is another section of the article--"...The council has until December to generate policy recommendations to grow Michigan's population under an executive order Whitmer signed Thursday.  As part of this mission, the group will craft proposals to improve education outcomes and infrastructure funding in Michigan....".  Yes, we need more taxes.  Yes, we need more males fucking females!  I say--Get rid of socialism and communism and progressivism offered up by Gretchen Whitmer and the other Democrats, and then you might have growth because people will leave jackasses and crappy states (filled with socialism and communism and progressivism) and go to Michigan.

In Michigan, while traveling, you can run across crappy people quite easily!

    Enjoy your traveling in Michigan!

And keep aware of the rotten people in Michigan.

    Stay well!

    Victor
