"Shared Responsibility Payment"--this is a reason
to hate all Democrats (especially the politicians), many
upper-level politicians of Republican Party, and two-thirds of
U.S. Supreme Court.  The payment is what the federal
government thinks people who do not buy government-
approved health insurance should pay as a tax or a fine.
It has come about through the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act of 2010.  It is rottenness of the
highest degree.  The only way for a good person
to destroy a bad person is to hate the bad person.
It is a rule of life!  I promote hate of rotten people,
especially Barack Hussein Obama, a promoter of
Sharia and communism and a killer.  I will not share
in paying for jackass sex-change-appearance people,
like that "Jenner" defect of nature, or foreigners, especially
illegal aliens, who are criminals, despite what shit-head
Barack Obama wants you to believe.  Hate the enemy!
I state again--I promote hate against rotten people!

Announcement

At the open of Michigan Travel Tips #145 (reached through Travel #145) and the open of Television History and Trivia #145 (reached through T.H.A.T. #145), I passed along information, which your favorite television newscaster probably did not tell you about, that notes that the federal government--controlled by the evil Barack Obama and his associates (socialists and communities and black racists and the like)--is well into making it commonplace for the federal government to determine where and where not people, especially "whites," will get to buy property for residences and live in the United States of America, and it is tied to, for one, using even more taxpayer money to put low-income people into high-rent areas, especially communities that are mostly "white" in nature.  Also, the idea is to put people who are very likely to vote for "Democrats" than "Republicans" into communities that have in the past supported more "Republicans" and "Republican-type issues" in elections than "Democrats" and "Democratic Party-type issues" (which are now hard-line communistic issues).  Since your favorite newscaster, such as Stephen Clark of WXYZ-TV, who has shown he is a supporter of communistic ways, probably will not tell you--I say that you must look up truthful information about the "Small-Area Fair Market Rents" idea and the "Mobility Counselors" idea (the "Mobility Counselors" will be like enforcers).  You will see how rotten the nature of the "Democrat" of today is--it is hellish!  I say that the nature will involve violence, pushed out by the "Mobility Counselors."

Actors are often not smart or good people--really.  Many in this day and age support politicians who push for or practice enslavism forms of government, such as communism and socialism, the latter of which is nothing more than temporary restrained communism, which involves a government of a few who are basically unchecked in how they may rule over what they call "the masses."  Barack Obama is a supporter of enslavism forms of government, such as communism and Sharia (which is a political system masquerading as a religion and which is a violent type of political system and not a peaceful type of government system and which is tied to the Quran and Islamic law).  Some of the actors who have openly shown their support for Barack Obama and what the Barack Obama stands for--the ways of the Democratic Party in the United States of America, such as communism--are Martin Sheen, Debra Messing, James Cromwell, Noah Wyle, Loretta Swit, and Mike Farrell.  They are bad people!  In December 2016, Martin Sheen, Debra Messing, James Cromwell, Noah Wyle, Loretta Swit, MIke Farrell, B.D. Wong, Fredya Payne, Bob Odenkirk, J. Smith Cameron, Michael Urie, Richard Schiff, Christine Lahte, Steven Pasquale, Dominic Fumusa, Emily Tyra, and Talia Balsam were involved in the making of--as "frontmen" or "front spokespersons"--a video called "United For America."  The video was designed to urge voters of the Electoral College (a ceremonal-like thing in a way) to not vote for Donald Trump to be the next U.S. President.  These actors--who support rotten politicians, such as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama--said such things as "we stand with you" and we "respect you" (for choosing to vote against the ways of the states' procedures that the electors are to follow).  The actors passed along rottenness, given they support rotten political systems and rotten politicians.  Although the election of November of 2016 is gone, the rotten actors, who products should be boycotted, still exist, and this edition of Television History and Trivia is used to show up rotten people on television and show up rottenness on television.  However, the edition, like others of the past, will show some good.

I have to make an announcement.  Over the last several years, I have shown up the many screw ups in the book entitled From Soupy to Nuts! A History of Detroit Television, which was written by Tim Kiska and published in 2005.  It is a bad, bad book [not unlike the 2005 book about The Mackinaw WAGB-83 that was written by Mike Fornes and which was published in 2005].  In the next edition of Television History and Trivia, I will show up another big error with the book--a super-big error.  It all involves the section about George Pierrot.  I have put this paragraph here since this edition of T.H.A.T. was already full when I finished my tracking down, for one, when George Pierrot was on the air in Detroit [Note: It was work that took several days].  Tim Kiska's screwed-up section about George Pierrot has led to other persons pushing out screwed-up material; for example, around April 2013, a man named George Bulanda pushed out a screwed-up article called "George Pierrot, 1965" for Hour Detroit, an article that is available on the Internet today and an article that attributes some information to Mike Fornes.  Yes, in the next edition of T.H.A.T., I will show more reasons why Tim Kiska's book is a throwaway piece.  [Note: Mike Fornes book is entitled USCGC Mackinaw: An Illustrated History of a Great Lakes Queen.  You can see the title has "illustrated history" in the title.  Up to this date, I have proven that that book has at least 16 photograph errors (16 photographs are misdated), and that is a sign of very bad work [Note: You can see a document that shows up the crap in Mike Fornes' book by using this WAGB-83 link].  A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a video on YouTube called "USCGC Mackinaw The Legend and the Legacy", which has Mike Fornes giving a lecture at Bayliss Public Library on October 29, 2015, about the former big icebreaker on the Great Lakes.  It is another screwed-up piece of history material from Mike Fornes.  For one, in the book (of 2005), he notes that The Mackinaw got the slash structure on the bow in 1967, and in the video, he notes that The Mackinaw got the slash structure on the bow in 1964 (adding it had something to do with President John F. Kennedy).  Such crap Mike Fornes pushed out.  He could not even get the dates to agree.  I report that the slash structure appeared on the ship in 1968, and I have proof in photographs (I have some 1,500 photographs of the ship, covering the years from 1941 to 2006).  This year, I will be giving my first talks about the ship to audiences, working to dispel crap information, such as that from Mike Fornes.  I have already made contact with the library at Cheboygan, Michigan, where the ship had been based from December 30, 1944, to June 2006.]  Really, Mike Fornes and Tim Kiska are the same type of rotten journalists, typical in this day and age--"The Pseudo Information Age and the Age of Ignorance"; Tim Kiska and Mike Fornes are the same type of person--they never learned the subject before they wrote the book.

While speaking about journalists, I have to add this commentary.  A lot of communists--rotten people--are in the journalism business in the United States of America, passing along lies and crap and working to make such rotten political systems known as communism and Sharia look good, though they are hideous political systems.  Did you hear Megyn Kelly has left Fox News and gone to NBC News and Greta Van Susteren has left Fox News and gone to MSNBC?  These two big-name media gals have decided to join entities that are communistic and have shown to be entities that pass along lies and rottenness purposely; for example, NBC-TV was caught doctoring police tape to make a man named Zimmerman look like a racist (it is all related to the "Ferguson" incident), and Brian Williams had to give up his job as the anchor of NBC Nightly News (of NBC-TV) for fabricating news (he is now MSNBC).  For some time, I have been aware Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Suseren were rotten women, and their joining rotten news entities is clear proof.  Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Suseren should be considered defective persons and should not be listened to.

So did you waste your time watching the show entitled First Lady Michelle Obama Says Farewll to the White House -- An  Oprah Winfrey Special, which was aired by CBS-TV at 8:00 p.m. on December 19, 2016.  It was a love-fest between two communistic women--Oprah Winfrey (who has shown herself to be a black racist, as I have shown in the past) and Michelle Obama (the wife of Barack Hussein Obama, the black racist and supporter of communism and Sharia, which makes him a hard-line "enslavist").  The show passed along a lot of bullshit.  Look at one comment made by Michelle Obama--"...Now, we're feelin' what not havin' hope feels like, you know.  Hope is necessary.  It's, it's a necessary concept.  And Barack didn't just talk about hope because he thought it just was a nice slogan to get votes.  I mean he and I and so many believe that you--what else do you have if you don't have hope?  What do you give your kids if you can't give them hope?....".   Yes, that is high-level crap.  I state that parents give children comfort and protection, meals and clothing and shelter, support, real knowledge and guidance, et cetera.  Based on Michelle Obama's statement, I can say that nothing else matters to her but that vague thing called "hope".  To me, it seems Michelle Obama has lost her "hope," given the communistic movement--which she supports--got blocked at least somewhat by the election of November 2016.  By the, way, CBS-TV just happened to air the special on the day that the Electoral College voting took place.  In the end, Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama worked to teach illogic and foolishness, the way of Barack Obama.

Hey, I say that, generally speaking, the American woman has gone to crap since the 1960s, since many have taken up promoting and accepting as good "communism" and the "Feminist Movement" (pushed along by Lesbians).  On December 14, 2016, Fox-TV aired the first episode of a new series called Star.  If you want to see three useless young women, you can find them on Star.  Really, the three come off three spoiled and bitchy girls.  I say that they are three little girls who would be a pain to have around on a regular basis--or any basis.  Why would anyone want to have these girls show up in the home--on television--every week?  Yet, I guess, there are enough crappy people in America today that it is easily possible to keep a bad series on the air--if the series has flash and sex and smutty girls.

The channels that I watch the most while in the Detroit area are subchannels, carrying such networks as Me TV, Cozi TV, and Buzzr.  On Sunday, December 18, 2016, I saw something that I had never seen before.  Buzzr aired the pilot for the series of the 1950s and 1960s called To Tell the Truth.  The pilot was called Nothing But the Truth, and it never aired on broadcast television in the 1950s and 1960s.  It was a pilot!  It was sort of a weak pilot, featuring Mike Wallace as the moderator and host, and the panel has Dick Van Dyke (a comedian and actor), Polly Bergen (a singer and actress), John Cameron Swayze (a famous newscaster), and Hildy Parks (an actress).  The program was sort of slow, and I can see why the producers--Mark Goodson and Bill Todman--made changes before To Tell the Truth went on the air in 1956.  Basically, the panel and the audience had to quess--in two segments--who was the real person of three (two were being impostors).  In the pilot, the audience got to take part in voting, and that would not happen in To Tell the Truth.

While I am on the subject of subchannels, I report that, in December 2016, I learned there would be a new cartoon channel associated with the WTVS-TV (which is associated with PBS), and it would be launched on January 16, 2017.  I learned Channel 56.1 would remain the place for "WTVS-TV" (the PBS-affiliated station), and Channel 56.2 would become the place for the cartoon channel, and Channel 55.3 would remain the place for "Create", and Channel 56.4 would become the place for "World" (which was then on Channel 56.2).  Now, there is another useless channel on the air in Detroit, and I say that it is useless since there are enough cartoon channels and since it becomes another channel that people sort of have to subsidize, such as through grants, public funding, et cetera (it sucks up more money from people).  The cartoon channel is carrying Splash and Bubbles, which I talked about in the previous edition of T.H.A.T., which I do not recommend as something to see for good kids (parents who want their children educated with communism can watch).

Oh, there is "black communism," and it has been around for decades, such as in relation to The Black Panthers, The New Black Panthers, Barack Obama, and at least some people on Channel 33.1, WPHR-TV, in Detroit, and, by the way, "black communists" are usually "black racists," haters of "white" themes and people.  Hey, on Mondays, Channel 33.1 airs a program called FeedBack, which is hosted by Thabiti Mpenda (who happens to be a black man [Note: You might not be able to determine the person is a black man based on the name]), and Theo Broughton (a black woman, who always wears sunglasses and comes off as a female slug).  I happened to tune into the program at about 9:40 a.m. on Monday, December 26, 2016, and moments after I tuned in, I heard a telephone caller [Note: I believe it was "Malik Shabazz" of Detroit and not "Malik Zulu Shabazz" of elsewhere in the country] note that there must be "post traumatic slavery repair."  I note (in jest) that, it seems, blacks in America have "post traumatic slavery syndrome."   What the hell is that?  I state that it is more crap being taught Detroiters, especially blacks.  Based on what amount of the show I saw, I can say that I saw more crap than that about some type of syndrome, but I will not relate it, since it was confused nonsense (layer upon layer of idiotic thought), often tied to a belief in "reincarnation," and the black racism showed.  At the end of the program, Thabiti Mpenda noted that there was a new president (Donald Trump), and Thabiti Mpenda noted that he (Donald Trump) is "not educated at all," meaning Mr. Trump was not educated in the nonsense that all the persons involved in the part of the program that I saw had been talking about.  It was laughable.

On Tuesday, December 27, 2016, I caught a repeat showing of a show hosted by Malik Shabazz on WHPR-TV, Channel 33.1, and Malik Shabazz showed off more of his rottenness.  For one, Malik Shabazz pushed out the bullshit to the viewing audience that Kwame Kilpatrick (a former mayor for Detroit who is in prison from crimes) is in jail because people did not want a "brilliant young man" [Kwame Kilpatrick] to become another Coleman Young Sr. [who had been a communist and the first black mayor for Detroit and who had been a black racist and who had been instrumental in killing Detroit)] and maybe to become another black president, so the people put Kwame Kilpatrick in prison.  Also, Malik Shabazz pushed out the idea that Donald Trump is a racist and is going to "hurt us" [blacks], hinting the hurt will come in a way that "white racists" always do to blacks.  At one point, Malik Shabazz did say--"I don't want to enslave white folks.  I don't want to kill white folks."  When a person pushes out a whole bunch of racist talk, as Malik Shabazz did, and then says something like "I don't want to enslave white folks.  I don't want to kill white folks.", a good person should discount the "I don't want to enslave white folks.  I don't want to kill white folks" part.  Yes, Malik Shabazz may not want to kill white people or enslave white people, but Malik Shabazz was and is not pushing for any good for white people--not really.  By the way, Malik Shabazz was a big supporter of Barack Obama, a pusher of Sharia (Islamic Law), which is a highly rotten political system masquerading as a religion, at the center of which is something called Allah.

Hey, did you can the promotional announcements for new episodes of Match Game, which is hosted by Alec Baldwin (a supporter of communists and socialists)?  I caught one on Saturday, December 31, 2016, that had Alec Baldwin saying--"My goal is to--blank--everyone on this panel!" [Note: You are supposed to fill in the "blank" with a word].  Such crap the promo--Alec Baldwin--was and is.  The promotional announcement shows of the rottenness of Alec Baldwin and the people who make the new series.  [Note: I wonder if Gracie Allen would have ever said a line in public like that that Alec Baldwin used].  The scum have really come out of the gutters.]

Oh, I caught the credits for the first episode of the new season of Match Game, and that is about all that I caught.  I saw the open.  I caught the first question in the game, which was something about "Curious George" (the animated character who has been round for decades), and the question pushed forth the idea that "Curious George" was "bi-Curious George."  I got off the channel.  I returned to the channel to see the end credits.  I only watch the Match Game shown by Buzzr (the subchannel network).
[Note: I recently caught a promotional announcement for Match Game, and it showed that one of the upcoming panalists was going to be Neil deGrasse Tyson, who is involved with the Rose Center for Earth and Space in New York City and has shown himself to be a pusher of the manmade-climate-change hoax.]

By  the way, on Monday, January 9, 2017, while I was putting a few things into this edition of T.H.A.T., I was listening to The Frank Beckmann Show on WJR-AM, and a guest was U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (a Republican related to Michigan), and he noted that, since "Obamacare" was put in as law, medical costs have increased a lot, such as from about 25 percent (in relation to Michigan) to nearly 100 percent (elsewhere) for people.

On Sunday, January 8, 2017, This Week with George Stephanopoulos (of ABC-TV) presented a special episode in which George Stephanopoulos interviewed Barack Hussein Obama, and the episode was Obama in the Oval.  Barack Obama once again passed along a lot of bullshit.  For one, Barack Obama pushed out the idea at "Obamacare" is a good thing, and he noted that the country is better off now than when he became the U.S. president, and Barack Obama passed along the idea that he has done a good job with the economy.  A big thing that caught my ear is Barack Obama's thought that hinted that the O.J. Simpson trial showed off some of the racist nature of the country, even though a smart and good person realizes the O.J. Simpson trial had nothing to do with racism in the country--it dealt with a killing incident.  And George Stephanopoulos worked to make Barack Obama look good, and Barack Obama tried to look so sincere and so introspective.

I have to note that I only saw the a small portion of the first episode of The New Celebrity Apprentice (of NBC-TV), which is hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger.  I caught credits.  I did not watch the main portion of the program, because it looked as if the program had a celebrity cast of creeps and freaks, and Arnold Schwarzenegger fit right in.

And while I am talking about freaks and creeps and NBC-TV, which is a television network that promotes enslavism (such as communism, socialism, and Sharia), I have to talk about the people of the "Golden Globes."  NBC-TV aired the awards for the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 8, 2017, and it was a collection of ugliness--it was in the faces of the members of the audience.  Meryl Streep was once of the ugliest seen of the night.   By theway, over the last eight years or so, the American press people, such as those of NBC-TV (news) and MSNBC, did not take Barack Obama to task on anything that is bad for good people [Note: Back up two paragraphs to see little Georgie Stephanopoulos].  One thing that Meryl Streep said showed off her rottenness and ignorance; she said--"...Okay, this brings me to the press.  We need a principled press to hold power to account, to, to call them on the carpet for every outrage.  That's why, that's why our founders enshrined the press and its freedoms in our constitution. so I only ask the famously we-healed Hollywood Foreign Press and all of us in our community to join me in supporting a committee to protect journalists, because we're going to need them going forward, and they'll need us to safeguard the truth....".  I have to make clear to naive and idiots--she was putting down "conservatives" (anti-enslavists) and good Republicans and promoting the ways of, for one, the Democratic Party (which is, for one, is an entity the promotes communism as good, such as the ways of lying by the press).  It was bullshit from Meryl Streep!  By the way, many reporters only noted that Meryl Streep said in her speech--"...So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if you kick them all out, you'll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts!....".  It was more bullshit from Meryl Streep, of course.

I state--I rarely watch any of the new stuff on television, and I have not seen a movie in the theaters for many years.  The stuff from Hollywood is crap as a rule--angry, loud, unpleasant, et cetera.  I watch old stuff, such as many things on subchannels, as I have noted in the past.  I do not need Hollywood!  In future editions of T.H.A.T., I will talk about old movies that were shown on television in the Detroit area in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.  I will note here, though, that many of the old movies are still seen on television today or can be found on YouTube.  In the future, I will report when Stagecoach (with John Wayne) was first shown on television in Detroit, and I will talk about some of the best movies ever--the Charlie Chan movies.  Those movies are still good nd watched by people, because they were nice and pleasant and did not push politics above entertainment, and they promoted "good"--the movies did not promote the crap pushed out of Meryl Streep's mind.

Hey, are you paying attention?  It seems Meryl Streep wants a government entity created to protect journalists!  If not that, what the hell does she mean?  What idiocy was she promoting?  Does she want some committee tied to the Foreign Press Association?  What power would that committee have?  What was she promoting to the viewers?  Meryl Streep is an enemy of good people!  Good people should boycott Meryl Streep and her products!  Meryl Streep is only an actress, a useless person as a rule.

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in August 2015): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, go to Fox News Channel (which has to be treated as wishy-washy and suspect, showing signs of mostly supporting the Republican Party establishment, which is rotten), WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama, as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned with it in presenting political stories and events, and you should discover CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV avoid covering things that make Barack Obama look bad or show his true nature, which could harm you).  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  [Note: The Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, U.S. Senator John McCain, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]

Within the last month, I tracked down the airing schedule for a television show broadcast in Detroit that was informally called Nancy Dixon.  Generally speaking, that program was aired on WWJ-TV, Channel 4, on several afternoons of a week from May 1952 to July 1955.  At first, the program was aired on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, but soon into the run, the show took up airing on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the program had various starting times (which will not be presented here), and each episode ran for 15 minutes.  The history of Nancy Dixon goes back to the late 1930s.  In late 1938, WCAU-AM, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began to air a radio program on weekdays called What's News in the Stores.  Each program ran 15 minutes.  The theme of the program was shopping news, and funding for the show was related to the Sanforized-Shrunk product of Cluett-Peabody Co. (which was working with the Young & Rubicam advertising agency, the real developer of the show).  The hosts of the radio program were Nancy Dixon and Hugh Walton.  Hold it!  "Nancy Dixon" was only a character; someone played "Nancy Dixon," and I do not known who "Nancy Dixon" was.  On January 9, 1939, a program with the "Nancy Dixon" character showed up on WWJ-AM in Detroit.  And the "Nancy Dixon" idea soon showed up--sponsored by, generally speaking, the "Sanforized" idea--in other cities.  Oh, I do not know who was the original "Nancy Dixon" on WWJ-AM.  I know the names of some of the women who played "Nancy Dixon" on some radio stations in the country, and I will pass along only a few.  Alice Huff was 26 years of age when she was playing the character on KFRC Radio around August 1940--it was in that month when she died, having collapsed of illness at a post office in San Francisco.  For a while, Lucille Cohan played "Nancy Dixon" on WJSV Radio in Washington, D.C., and Janet Jenkins (or later Janet Jenkins McCoy) played "Nancy Dixon" for KYW Radio in Philadelphia, and Dorothy Godwin (whose radio name was "Carol Gay" in St. Louis, Missouri) played "Nancy Dixon" for WTOP Radio.  By the way, I am up to 1944 in the history line.  For several years, starting in 1947, Jean Taylor played "Nancy Dixon" on WWJ-AM, and she left the job and would end up working in the Local Service Unit of Young & Rubicam (an advertising agency) in the 1950s; it looks as if Jean Taylor had taken the job of playing "Nancy Dixon," when the person playing the part--Frances Harris (a.k.a. Fran Harris)--had joined the news department of WWJ-AM radio on a regular basis.  The character called "Nancy Dixon" (related to Cluett-Peabody Co. and Young & Rubicam) first showed up on television in New York City in 1946, and it was on a series of programs--entitled Fashions Coming and Becoming--on WABD-TV, and some of the persons on camera for the series of programs were Claire McCardell and Betty Furness, the latter of whom became well known nationally for television work.  Hold it!  There is a problem.  In late 1954, WJAR-TV in Providence, Rhode Island, put on a weekday morning show (from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.) called Breakfast at the Sheraton, and it featured Peter Carew and "Nancy Dixon", and later, "Nancy Dixon" was working with Johnny King on that program (such as in early 1955).  Was the "Nancy" Dixon" of Breakfast at the Sheraton using her real name--"Nancy Dixon"--or was she using "Nancy Dixon" as a fake name?  I discovered that, in September 1956 (or so), a woman named "Nancy Dixon" (who was formerly of Young & Rubicam) became a staffer at the Ingalls-Miniter Advertising Agency.  Was that woman a real "Nancy Dixon"?  Who was "Nancy Dixon" on WWJ-TV from May 1952 to July 1955?  That will go unreported in this edition of Television History and Trivia.  [Note: Johnny King was a singer and played such instruments as the saxophone and the clarinet, and he had worked with such band leaders ("big-band"-type leaders) as Glen Gray and Paul Whiteman).  And, for example, in the late 1940s and early 1950s, there was a "Johnny King" in the Detroit area, and he had his own orchestra, and he hosted a television program called Cinderella Weekend (or Cinderella Week-End), which was shown on WWJ-TV, Channel 4, in the late 1940s and early 1950s.  And that is a story for another time.]

The other day while doing research on television, I was reminded about something that I will pass along here.  "Syndication"--that is a term that refers to some entity (such as a company) that has a television product (such as a movie or a group of movies, a television series that originally aired on a broadcast network, or a new television series), contacts television stations around a region of the country or throughout the country, and gets the stations to air the product (for a fee usually).  It is very rare when a television product made for syndication originally goes from syndication-marketplace use to network use.  On Monday, January 9, 1961, WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, in Detroit began to air a new syndicated television series, which was designed to run on a weekly basis; each episode of the series was 30-minutes long, and each was set to air at 7:00 p.m.  The series was a fun series, since it was fun--really.  The program was designed for entertainment sake and not for political reasons, as many television series of today are, a good example of which is Madam Secretary (which is aired by CBS-TV), which is pushing the "Democratic Party" as good (and the program, indirectly, has been working to push the idea that Hillary Clinton would be a good U.S. president, though history shows the Hillary Clinton is rotten).  By the way, I cannot think of a series of the last few years that has actually been made to entertain for the sake of entertainment or to be fun for the sake of being fun.  Oh, that 1961 series only had a short life in what is known as "first-run syndication" (which is when a series gets exposed to television viewers for the first time through the syndication process).  On October 1, 1961, that series left the syndication marketplace as a new series and showed up on CBS-TV (with new episodes), and the series ran for a bunch of seasons, and the series is still being syndicated in repeat form (and it has been for some five decades).  The television series was and is Mister Ed (which features such performs Alan Young and Connie Hines).  And that is that!  [Note: At this moment, I cannot think of another series that has gone from syndication use (with new episodes) to broadcast-network use (with new episodes).]

On Sunday, January 1, 2016, I decided to watch the Movies! network when it was airing the movie entitled Sherlock Holmes in Washington (the movie featuring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Doctor John Watson), which was made about seventy years ago.  It is a fun and likable movie.  I did some research.  It seems that movie, which was made in the 1940s, first showed up on television in the Detroit area in 1954 (through syndication).  It was on Sunday, May 9, 1954, that WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, ran the movie, starting at 11:00 p.m., and it was aired under the umbrella title known as Motion Picture Academy.  The television station got the movie in a package of 12 syndicated movies with Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes.  The first movie of the package that was shown by the television station was Sherlock Holmes and the House of Fear, which was shown on May 2, 1954. On Tuesday, January 3, 2017, I saw an episode of The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show on television, which had been made in the 1950s.  The episode was fun and likable.  By the way, on Sunday, December 31, 2016, I saw the first episode of a new series entitled The Mick, which was shown by Fox TV.  The episode, which featured an ugly looking woman named Kaitlin Olson, was crud and scummy and unfunny, and none of the characters were likable.  Why the heck would a good person want to have such people--as those in The Mick--come in to their home (through the television set or whatever) on a weekly basis?  Kaitlin Olson is no Gracie Allen!  Kaitlin Olson got a "co-executive producer" credit on The Mick.  I can see why movies with Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show are still liked today.  It seems to me, in sixty or seventy years, no good person will want to see The MickThe Mick is a dead dreadful series.

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link.  I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man."  For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Christ Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President.  I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often and usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
