While you travel in Michigan, you will very likely stop at a gasoline station to get gasoline, and you may or may not feel oil companies are the problem that the price of gas is at the price that it is. Well, I am one man who understands oil companies are not the problem, knowing how the communists and such in the federal government and environmental groups for years have been working to block the development of the oil industry in the country so that they can reach a number of goals, such as to have the government control oil companies (so that no oil guys and gals can have more money than they have) and control the movement of people in the country (by blocking the ability to travel, reducing the amount of fuel that can be used to travel in the country). It is important for the communists and like deviants to stop the country from producing gasoline or restrict the country from producing gasoline. On Friday, May 11, 2012, CNSNews published a story entitled "GAO: Recoverable Oil in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming 'About Equal to Entire World's Proven Oil Reserves'" (Jeffrey, Terence P. "GAO: Recoverable Oil in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming 'Above Equal to Entire World's Proven Oil Reserves.'" CNSNews.com, 10 May 2012), which had information from Anu K. Mittal (the director the the Government Accountability Office of the federal government) that had been told to members of the Science Subcommittee on Energy and Environment on Thursday, May 10, 2012, and the story showed how, for example, the Rand Corporation believed some 1.5-trillion barrels of oil could be recovered from what is called the Green River Formation (which exists in parts of Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado), and that amount of oil is only about half of the oil that is estimated to exist in that formation, which someday may be gotten. By the way, besides what oil could be recovered from the Green River Formation, there is much more oil that could be recovered from land or water tied to the United States of America. There is no reason the United States of America could not be :energy independent," as smart persons have been trying to teach the public for years. While you pump out some gasoline for your vehicle, though you do not have to do it with some type of hand pump, keep in mind the types of people who are working to keep you from traveling in Michigan and other states of the United States of America, and the next time you hear Barack Obama hint that, roughly, the United States only has two percent of the world's oil reserves but uses 20 percent of the world's oil, you can think to yourself--"Stick it up your ass, Barack Obama!"
[As a side note, I report that Fox News published on May 10, 2012, a story entitled "Coal industry warns proposed EPA rule could force fourth of plants to close" ("Coal industry warns proposed EPA rule could force fourth of plants to close." FOXNews.com, 10 May 2012), which focuses on how the Barack Obama administration is pushing hard to close down coal-fired electricity generating plants in the country, mandating that plants put out no more than 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per one-megawatt hour generated, though carbon dioxide is not a harmful gas, and it is information that you should pass along to people somehow while you travel, such as to your children, and the information must be passed along since Barack Obama is pushing to have everyone drive electric cars, but if more and more coal-power electricity generating plants are shut down, there will not be enough electricity to power the cars, which would allow you to travel, such as in Michigan.]Advertisement: The commercial in this edition of Michigan Travel Tips urges you to get a copy of Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, which is a book written by Mark R. Levin. This book will help you understand better what Barack Obama is--a man who is purposely hurting the country, even though he is the president of the country--but the book is really about enslavers--politicians--who do not believe in the values of The U.S. Constitution and how The U.S. Constitution is designed to limit the power of the government, especially a dictatorship, over the individual (the citizen). Remember: In the United States of America, it is the individuals who own the government and not the government that owns the citizens, the latter of which is what Barack Obama wants and is pushing for.
If you are not stupid, you are well aware that, for a human body to grow, it must take in minerals and water and other stuff, and even if it were not really growing (such as because the body reached adult stage), it has to take in enough materials to replace what gets lost each day, such as skin cells and maybe blood, and if you are not stupid, you are well aware that plants, such as trees, have to have minerals and water and other stuff to grow. On Monday, June 4, 2012, Vice President Joseph Biden spoke before people at Cypress Bay High School (Weston, Florida) and said: "...Imagine a world where hunger is vanquished by crops that don't depend on the soil, water, or fertilizer or pesticides to thrive...." Joseph Biden spoke crap. Well, for me to thrive, I eat meat, and I eat meat so that I can put on muscle or keep muscle mass, and, recently, I was at a great "pig place," a place in Rogers City (Presque Isle County of the Lower Peninsula) where "pig" products are sold, such as hot dogs with bits of cheese in them. On the counter was a brochure that reminded me of something that I have not covered in an edition of Michigan Travel Tips. At Alpena, there is the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and an entity called "Alpena Shipwreck Tours" takes tourists to the sites of sunken ships, using a "glass-bottom" boat. It is a two-hour cruise (and not a proposed "three-hour" cruise the Skipper, Gilligan, and the rest set out for). The boat is called The Lady Michigan. To get the tickets for the cruise, a person goes to the Sanctuary Store inside the NOAA Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, which has many exhibits for tourists to see. The cruises are given daily between May and mid-October, and depending on what date is considered, the day can offer from one cruise to four cruises.
While on the subject Rogers City, I note that from July 31, 2012, through August 5, 2012, Rogers City is having a "Nautical City Festival" (which is an annual event), and this year, the event celebrates the 100th year of the calcite limestone quarry, which is located at Rogers City.
Since I published the previous edition of Michigan Travel Tips, there has been a big wildfire in Arizona, particularly in the Gila National Forest, and there has been a big wildfire in the general area of Tahquamenon Falls State Park of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (even for a short time, the Visitor Center of the Lower Falls had to be closed). Tahquamenon Falls State Park is in the northeastern quarter of the Upper Peninsula, and it involves parts of Chippewa County and Luce County. The fire, which is considered the Duck Lake Fire, burned about 21,000-plus acres; the fire was started by a lightning strike and was detected on May 24, 2012, and the fire did not affect the two "falls" areas (the Upper Falls area and the Lower Falls area). Tahquamenon Falls State Park is open to visitors.
Another noteworthy fire that took place in May 2012 in the Upper Peninsula was the Pine Creek North Wildfire. That fire area was on the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, which is sort of southwest of Tahquamenon Falls State Park and is in the Seney/Germfask area. The fire in this refuge affected about 3,400 acres, and, for a while, it closed parts of the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, such as some hiking trails. I can report that the Seney National Wildlife Refuge is open to tourists, such as to those who wish to tour only by vehicle or to those who wish to tour by bicycle or on foot.
In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, there are many wonderful wooded areas in which to hike and travel through, and another of the defined places is Sylvania Wilderness, which is in the southwestern quarter of the Upper Peninsula. An entrance to the Sylvania Wilderness, such as to use the Sylvania Wilderness Recreation Area as a day-use area, is near Watersmeet (which is in Gogebic County); to get to the entrance, a person drives west on US-2 for about three miles and a half to find a road called GCR 535, and when the person gets to GCR 535, the person turns left and drives about three miles to find the entrance. This wilderness area, which is a part of the National Wilderness Preservation System, offers a person a chance to camp and fish and hike and canoe and ski.
Promotional announcement: The Landmark Legal Foundation is made up of lawyers, such as Mark R. Levin (of The Mark Levin Show, a nationally syndicated radio show), who fight in court cases against those who do not uphold The U.S. Constitution and the rule of law for the country, and the Landmark Legal Foundation fights for the rights of the individual and against Marxists, communists, and the like. In this day and age when Barack Obama, who, I am convinced, has a truly highly ill mind, is going against the rules of the country while pursuing a goal--I believe--to hurt the country and remake it or destroy it, I believe the Landmark Legal Foundation needs your help desperately; for example, retired lawyers who want to protect the country should consider donating time to helping the Landmark Legal Foundation. I urge you to avoid making any donations to entities that promote manmade global warming or climate change and make a donation to the Landmark Legal Foundation instead (by the way, you should look into supporting the Heritage Foundation).
While you are traveling in Michigan, you may look up in the sky, wondering if you will see in the sky any "drones" (scout aircraft) associated with the Environmental Protection Agency (or the EPA), which is now run by socialists and communists (headed by Barack Obama). The EPA is using "drones" to watch farmers and ranchers in other states. For those who are unaware, the EPA is working to push more environmental rules that have ties to so-called manmade global warming or manmade climate change or whatever it is called at the moment on the citizens of the United States of America, and the purpose is to fine and tax the American public more and have that money, for one, distributed to other countries--it is related to carbon emissions and dust emissions. It is all nonsense! By the way, the United Nations, which is controlled now by countries run by dictators and communists and socialists, is working to make international treaties that would force developed countries to give up money as restitution for so-called bad deeds--using carbon-based fuels--that have been contributing to the killing of the planet, which is nonsense ["EPA drones spy on farmers in Nebraska and Iowa." The Daily Caller, 6 June 2012, 10:56 a.m.; "Send In The Drones: Obama Spies On America." Investor's Business Daily (Investors.com), 6 June 2012, 06:32 p.m. ET.]
Oh, why would the EPA spy on farmers? There are many reasons. In Europe, there are rules about how much methane a country can produce a year, and that is leading to, in essence, seeing cattle as dangerous to the environment, because the cattle give off methane gas, and that idea is leading to the reduction of animals. It is all nonsense and crap from people in government with crap minds, and I can see defective bureaucrats in the U.S. doing what is done in Europe (which would be nothing more than a scam to get money out of the American public and hurt the country by hurting the food producers and animals producers in the country). Using drones is a way to get information that can be used to fine farmers and ranchers for how they use water and stir up dust, ways that go against EPA rules (which can be strict and become ever stricter day upon day and be ever changing). And, for example, the EPA could be doing the spying as part of a pilot project--to work out the "bugs"--so that a much bigger project can be run regularly throughout the country. (Note: Over the last few years, the budget for the EPA has been increased dramatically, and it has been increased dramatically for some reason--probably some defective reason. About the budget, look it up! I already know.)
