Well, I missed it again--that annual festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where some wonderfully shaped gals dance--do salsa dancing--nearly completely nude . I see Barack Obama also missed the festival by about a week, based on the day that he landed for a two-day visit to Brazil, March 19, 2011; for example, he missed such women as those that might look like the woman who can be seen in the YouTube video labeled "Carnival Girl," but, maybe, that is not his thing.  But it must be remembered the President of Brazil is a woman named Dilma Rousseff, who is certainly no "Carnival Girl" but whose history involves being a Marxist gorilla fighter in Brazil and being clearly a Marxist environmentalist (she was the "Minister of Energy" in Brazil for a while, starting in 2002).  So why did Barack Obama, a communist, go to Brazil?

Think about the opening paragraph as you travel to places in Michigan, and think about it as you look about the state and see what, over decades, has been built up through the work of individuals, from copper miners working in the Upper Peninsula in the 1800s to tire-store operators running businesses that have existed at locations since before World War II.  Of course, to give you ideas about places to see in Michigan, I have put together this edition--another edition--of Michigan Travel Tips.

Iron County is one of the counties of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and it can be said that that county is in the southwestern quarter of that peninsula.  Crystal Falls is one of the small towns there, and one tourist attraction at Crystal Falls is the Harbour House Museum.  However, that museum is for the most part only a tourist attraction that can be seen regularly by travelers from roughly June through August.  The place is a two-story 1900 house, and there are displays on two floors, the first of which is set up as an old Victorian home.  I saw a somewhat old Web page about the museum recently, and I noticed an old chainsaw is on display (since I published the previous edition of Michigan Travel Tips, I had to take down a fallen tree on the roof of a house, and since I had to do it alone, I made an "A"-frame like supports with long cedar logs and ropes to hold up the tree as I took it down in sections).  The museum is not only for adults, but also it is for children, especially one room, which has toys, some of which are called "antique" toys.  One photograph on the Web site showed off a Raggedy Ann and a Raggedy Andy, and since the toy room is called a "hands-on" room, a little girl might like to see the museum so that she can hug Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy, if they are there on display at the time.

Advertisement: The commercial in this edition of Michigan Travel Tips urges you to get a copy of Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, which is a book written by Mark R. Levin.  This book will help you understand better what Barack Obama is--a man who is purposely hurting the country, even though he is the president of the country--but the book is really about enslavers--politicians--who do not believe in the values of The U.S. Constitution and how The U.S. Constitution is designed to limit the power of the government, especially a dictatorship, over the individual (the citizen).  Remember: In the United States of America, it is the individuals who own the government and not the government that owns the citizens, the latter of which is what Barack Obama wants and is pushing for.

While I travel in Michigan, I think about how the state will be if Barack Obama and his associates continue their work to kill the ability of people to travel easily around the state, such as by pushing electric cars--those tiny little things.  How is a person going to move material from a home in a city to a place out of the city?  How are people going to easily move material around within a city?  How is a pizza delivery business going to get pizzas to people within thirty minutes?  Oh, did you learn recently Tesla Motors is suing the Top Gear television show (the version tied to the BBC), because, for one, the hosts of Top Gear noted that a Tesla car--a Tesla Roadster--only got about a quarter of the traveling distance that Tesla Motors had claimed, which had been two-hundred miles.  Yes, the climate-change believers--if not stopped--are going to hurt tourism in Michigan.  (Lumley, James.  "Tesla sues BBC show over electric car range dispute."  Detroit Free Press, 31 March 2011, p. 2B.)

Let me present some news related to climate change, which will give you something more to talk about with your children as you travel in Michigan.  On Tuesday, March 29, 2011, Frank Beckmann, who is the host of The Frank Beckmann Program on WJR-AM (in Detroit, Michigan) on weekdays, interviewed a man named Lord Christopher Monckton, who is a man who has been fighting back against the communists and such who are involved in pushing the false notion that man's producing CO2 in killing the planet.  Some of what Lord Christopher Monckton said is exhibited within T.H.A.T. #84, which can be reached by using this T.H.A.T. #84 link, and here are some other pieces:
Lord Christopher Monckton said: "... And the sea level, although various, ah, dubious sources pretend it's rising isn't, in fact, rising it really at all.  Nor is the carbon dioxide we're putting in the atmosphere going to cause anything like the warming predicted by the usual suspects at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the UN, the Al Gore.  You know, ah, ah, the names. They're all over the newspapers every day.  Their forecasts have been proven wrong time and time and time again! In fact, the rate at which the planet has been warming up is not greater than half the predicted rate, and if you take away the other half that isn't happening, you end up with no problem at all.  Yes, there is some warming.  Yes, we would expect some warming from CO2--but nothing like as much as they say.  And the other side of this coin, of course, even suppose there was going to be as much warming as they say, how much difference would taking cars off the roads in the cities of Europe make to anything?"
Lord Christopher Monckton also said: "It would reduce global, it would reduce global emissions of carbon dioxide by about two or three percent.  And that simply isn't enough to make any difference.  Even if the whole world--the thing is--even if the whole world stopped emitting CO2, we now have an admission skillfully extracted by Andrew Bolt of The Herald Sun of Australia from Professor Tim Flannery, who's the head of the Climate Change Commission, ah, there....  He has now admitted--you could shut down the entire planet straight away and global temperatures would continue to rise for a thousand years.  That's what they say.  If that's the case, then you can see whatever we do or don't do about the climate won't make the slightest difference."

On Wednesday, April 6, 2011, Barack Obama made a bunch of appearances in Pennsylvania, hours before showing up at a gala in New York City for the National Action Network, a radical black group headed by the Reverend Al Sharpton.  In the last two years, Barack Obama has hurt the oil industry with his political policy and philosophies, and, in fact, I argue well Barack Obama purposely hurt the oil industry in relation to the oil-rig disaster of April 2010, and evidence of that exists in my document entitled The Oil Rig Disaster of April 2010: Evidence that Shows Barack Obama Purposely Wanted to Hurt the Beaches, which can be reached by using this link: Oil Rig.  While in Pennsylvania, Barack Obama joked about people who run SUVs, such as when he said: "...But I know some of these big guys.  They're all still drivin' their big SUVs.  You know, they got their big monster trucks and everything. You're one of them?  Well, now here's my point.  You know, if, if you're complainin' about the price of gas, and you're only gettin' eight miles a gallon.  [He chuckled here.]  You know.  [He chuckled some more.]  Well, I, I, you may have a big family, but it's...that big. [ He chuckled even more.]  So, I mean, you have ten kids, you say?  Ten kids?  Well, you definitely need a hybrid van then...."

The United States of America is a big place, much bigger than the countries in Europe are, where people do not have to travel as much to get from place to place and where the price of gas is higher than it is in the United States of America to, for one, pay for socialistic political ventures and programs, which, in the case of health-care systems (government monopolies) are failing.  Within the last year, I met a husband-and-wife team at Glen's Market at Cheboygan (of Presque Isle County, the Lower Peninsula) who travel around at least the northern half or so of the Lower Peninsula to set up and service "Beanie Baby" (Ty) displays at stores and gasoline stations.  When you see one of those displays and when you are with children, tell the children it takes time and muscle to distribute those Beanie Babies around, and distributors have to have a vehicle big enough to move the many boxes of Beanie Babies from city to city and it takes gasoline to move the vehicle.  A tiny electric car might get 25-miles on a charge, but it is useless for moving materials and people from place to place and in keeping the economy moving, but, of course, Barack Obama is not really pushing to increase the economic activity of regular people in Michigan, and probably  Barack Obama would be glad to see Beanie Babies and Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy disappear, given he does not care about people who are not communists and radical Islamists.

Oh, maybe, Barack Obama would love to have a Barack Obama Beanie Baby or a Hugo Chavez Beanie Baby or a Castro Beanie Baby, et cetera.

And here is some exposing of true deception from the real controllers of General Motors--the federal goverment (Barack Obama).  On April 7, 2011, The Detroit Free Press published a story entitled "GM says drivers of Volt electric cars going 1,000 miles before gassing up" ("GM says drivers of Volt electric cars going 1,000 miles before gassing up."  Detroit Free Press, 7 April 2011, p. 2B.).  Wow!  That sounds great.  Maybe!  Well, I think I could get 20,000 miles before gasing up.  I would never travel more than 20 miles a day, and I would drive no more than 20 miles a day for 1,000 days (20,000 miles divided by 20 miles gives me 1,000 days).  To see where I get the "20-miles" figure, you should see information about what Consumer Reports thinks about the miles that a Volt can get that exists in my document entitled Michigan Travel Tips #83, and you should see Consumer Reports magazine for April 2011,  Yes, buy a Volt or a hybrid SUV for $40,000 or $50,000 or $60,000 or whatever, and I say in jest--"You will save money."  Ha!  Good luck, getting to Crystal Falls easily with only electricity as the power source.  By the way, very few people have Volts, and so the statistics about the Volt are tied to only a few people, who purposely bought the expensive Volt--with help of a subsidy from the federal government--to drive short distances.

Promotional announcement: The Landmark Legal Foundation is made up of lawyers, such as Mark R. Levin (of The Mark Levin Show, a nationally syndicated radio show), who fight in court cases against those who do not uphold The U.S. Constitution and the rule of law for the country, and the Landmark Legal Foundation fights for the rights of the individual and against Marxists, communists, and the like.  In this day and age when Barack Obama, who I am convinced has a truly highly ill mind, is going against the rules of the country while pursuing a goal--I believe--to hurt the country and remake it or destroy it, I believe the Landmark Legal Foundation needs your help desperately; for example, retired lawyers who want to protect the country should consider donating time to helping the Landmark Legal Foundation.  I urge you to avoid making any donations to entities that promote manmade global warming or climate change and make a donation to the Landmark Legal Foundation instead (by the way, you should look into supporting the Heritage Foundation).

Since I published the previous edition of Michigan Travel Tips, another store shut down in downtown Ferndale--on Nine Mile Road.  That story was a novelty store that had been along Nine Mile Road for years, and I happened to walk in to the store on a day when everything was being sold off at seventy-five percent off, which I learned might be two days before the place would fully be abandoned.  I noticed much of the material that had been for purchase had already been sold, and I did find something to buy, simply as a rescue mission of sorts--I bought a stuffed toy that is a small Frosty the Snowman.  I could argue well that another business fell in to the sink hole of "hope and change," as the House of Chants (once in Ferndale) had some weeks ago.  What bothers me is now a tattoo place is located in downtown Ferndale along Nine Mile Road, and that is not a good sign for a city, and some other stores are empty yet.

I guess the former owners of the House of Chance and that novelty store now have the time to travel in Michigan, maybe to the sinkholes of the roughly Tomahawk area of Presque Isle County (of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan), and that is the area that also has Little Tomahawk Lake, Shoepac Lake, and Francis Lake.  There is a road that leads to the sinkholes off of M-33 between Atlanta and Onaway that I see regularly.  The sinkhole area takes up about 2,600 acres of the Mackinaw State Forest.

Enjoy your safe traveling in Michigan!

    Stay well!

    Victor

P.S. #1: Remember: While you travel in Michigan, remind your children or grandchildren that they should never pledge to be a "servant to Obama" or a servant to any politician or sing the praises of Barack Obama, and to help you remember other matters that you should teach children about bad politicians, such as Barack Obama (who can be described as an "enslaver"), see such other documents of mine as Conservatism for Children and What Conservatism Means (which can be reached through this link: Conservatism) and Lessons for Children about Politics and Dangerous People (which can be reached through this link: Children).  (Note: I first passed along the subject of not being a "servant to Obama" and the like in the publication entitled T.H.A.T. #58, which can be reached through this link: T.H.A.T. #58.)
