I have been hearing that Detroit is on a come-back trail, but I say that that is crap. I have been not promoting Detroit as a place to see for many months, and now the reasons not to see Detroit are getting more pronounced. Detroit is getting involved in the "reparations" thing, in which blacks seem to think they should get free money for so-called wrongs of many years past, such as in the 1800s, when none of the people alive today were around. How will reparations take form? They may show up in ways that have been adopted by Evanston, Illinois, a city near Chicago, Illinois, another communist stronghold and a home base for Barack Obama. It seems Evanston is the first city in the country to take up "reparations" in earnest. In 2022, when the reparations thing got started in Evanston, some 620 people--blacks--got some $25,000 for stuff related to so-called slavery of the past, and it is part of a Restorative Housing Program. Evanston is only 16-percent black, so most of the money, which is coming from taxpayers, is coming from whites. Initially, the payments to blacks in Evanston started out as vouchers for housing, and now the city is involved in giving also cash outright (the money is coming from sales tax, for one). So Detroit could easily take up the reparations thing, getting money from sales tax related to things bought in Detroit. Maybe, there would be a new tax on hotel rooms or motel rooms. Maybe, there would be money from the state government--which is taxpayer money, mostly from whites--or from the federal government--which is taxpayer money, mostly from whites. Detroit is about 80-percent black, so, if a sales tax is set up to get money to give to blacks, much of the money will come from blacks--better blacks will be paying money to jackass blacks and crappy blacks. Is not black socialism or socialism from blacks great? The more you give free to people, the less they have to try for themselves, but that is a goal of communists and socialists and progressives for others. You can see Detroit--which already has too many single-mother homes and too many poorly educated people because of bad black teachers (who probably got through college by affirmative-action tactics)--is nowhere really on a road to better days. For this edition of Michigan Travel Tips, expect to see no tourism place located in Detroit, and you should expect no place for upcoming editions of the publication, too. [Chandler, Chanelle. Hey, in the near future, I might--might--say that you can now see solar-cell farms in Detroit--great tourist attractions--because Mayor Mike Duggan of Detroit thinks that such things set up in Detroit will save money for Detroit, since the city will not have to buy electricity from some electricity-generating company, but--I say--that will not inspire enough housing development and more residents for Detroit to overcome people's having to pay out reparations money [Note: And, of course, when a big city runs stuff, it can lead to sloppiness and corruption and new bureaucratic mess (local, state, and federal), and when a city sets up solar-cell farms, there are maintenance costs and replacement costs and more. How will money be saved? It is more crap from idiots?].
Warning announcement! Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips. The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islamic law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law." Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia." When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion, and it promotes killing of non-followers behind the face of religion and a god, Allah). By the way, a society based on "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping the ideas of the society based on ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders), whose main purpose is to keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really. Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than the U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.
In the past, I have reported on a number of things related to me and my building stuff. For example, I have shown through an edition of Michigan Travel Tips my model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse, the real one of which is located along Lake Huron about seven miles north of Rogers City, Michigan, and I have even shown off the nude gals (tiny sculptures) that I made for the lighthouse--a joke related to the lighthouse. By the way, the lighthouse model was finished officially on December 25, 2022. I have reported that I am working on a diorama related to The Mackinaw WAG-83 (the original designation) and The Mackinaw WAGB-83 (the designation given in 1950), which was originally a U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker on the Great Lakes and is now a museum at Mackinaw City, Michigan. Recently, I have been working on tiny little helicopters for the diorama, and the helicopters--which are about one-inch long--are being made to show what helicopters were at Air Station Traverse City (Traverse City, Michigan) in the late 1940s and in the 1950s, most of which were used with The Mackinaw, and that is especially true of the type known as the Sikorsky HO3S-1G type (also informally called the Dragonfly), and "Sikorsky" was the maker's name or the name of the company that made the helicopter. I also have one little Bell HTL-1 helicopter in the collection of helicopters (and the "Bell" name is the name of the maker of the type of helicopter, and the HTL-1 is a forerunner to what is known as the "Bell 47" line of helicopters). That type of helicopter was not used long with the former icebreaker. In June 1950, an HTL-1 was used with the icebreaker at a now famous event. That event is being told in an exhibit at The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center, which is at St. Joseph (of Berrien County of the Lower Peninsula), and the exhibit is called "Fatal Crossing: Mysterious Disappearance of NWA Flight 2501 and the Quest for Answers." In June 1950, an airplane with 58 persons on board crashed into Lake Michigan, a short distance from St. Joseph, Michigan, and, by the way, at the time, my mother was living in St. Joseph, Michigan. The Mackinaw took part in the rescue and salvage operation, and with it was a Bell HTL-1, which was outfitted with pontoons so that it could land on water. Besides The Mackinaw, the U.S. Coast Guard had four other vessels (cutters) involved in the rescue and salvage mission, and two of them were The Hollyhock and The Woodbine. The information about the cutters, such as The Mackinaw (which was being used with an HTL-1), is probably not reported in the exhibit at The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center, and that is fine. And I will not report anything more about the exhibit, since I will let you learn other stuff about the famous event, which involved a DC-4 airplane, when you visit The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center. If you go the place, you will see that The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center currently has an exhibit about ship building and about Fresnel lenses used to light the way for the people in water of the St. Joseph area years ago, one lens of which is a Fourth Order lens, which is structured much differently from the first Fourth Order Fresnel lens that was used at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse was, which was a six-sided bullseye lens and which--I believe, based on research--is now stored at the Maine Lighthouse Museum of the New England area. The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center is located at 601 Main Street, St. Joseph.
