Special Important Announcement

On December 9, 2020, a video entitled "It's a HORRIBLE time in history to be Honest and Ethical.  People love the LIE" was posted on YouTube.  The video features testimony from Dr. Pierre Kory, who is, for example, related to an entity called the "Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance" and to the St. Luke's Aurora Medical Center.  In the video, Dr. Pierre Kory talks about an anti-viral called "ivermectin", which has been around for some time, and talks about using it to defeat COVID-19.  The talk was given at a hearing (entitled "Early Outpatient Treatment: An Essential Part of the EN SVVID-19 Solution") at the U.S. Senate (related to the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs) on December 8, 2020.  See the video!  Hold it!  I have to take that back!  I learned on February 3, 2021, that the video and a related video had been taken off YouTube by the management of YouTube (which is controlled by Democrats, supporters of communism and socialism), and, for instance, I learned about it through an article entitled "YouTube Cancels the U.S. Senate" [Johnson, Ron.  "YouTube Cancels the U.S. Senate."  wsj.com, 2 February 2021, 12:47 p.m. ET.].  A person has to wonder why the video would be removed, not being something that was clearly anti-communistic or anti-socialistic.  To learn more, you are urged to see my document informally entitled The "Democratic Party" and the "Democrats" Stand for Death, which can be reached through this Democrats and Death link.  I report that ivermectin is not a dangerous drug, and the drug has been showing some help in fighting COVID-19, as has hydroxychloroquine (a decades-old non-dangerous drug talked about by U.S. President Donald J. Trump and called dangerous and deadly by the Democrats (who worked to put down everything related to U.S. President Donald J. Trump)).  I note that, since ivermectin has helped ill people, the people who put down the drug killed some Americans by withholding the drug or withholding information about the drug in relation to COVID-19, but that is the way of the Democrats (communists and socialists and progressives and such).

Well, almost all the tourist attractions in Michigan should be open for the tourist season this year.  I have heard that Isle Royale National Park, which is the farthest place to the west and north that a person can go in Michigan, will be open for the summer season.  Some things could be closed, having closed for good last year, but I have no information on that, but I can say that any place that you can think of to go should be open this year.

Now that I have given that note, I have to pass along some special news about two tourist attractions in Michigan--the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum and 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.  From 2008 to 2011, I did volunteer guide work at the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum, which is at Mackinaw City and which is a former icebreaker on the Great Lakes.  In 2014, I began to make models of the icebreaker that is the heart of the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum--four models--and that was about two years after a friend of mine and I had been sort of edged out of being guides at the museum, though I had gained a lot of information about the icebreaker and was passing the information along to visitors (unlike most of the people there).  In 2017, I stopped working on the models, and I did that so that I could make a model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse (the real lighthouse of which is located about seven miles north of Rogers City, Michigan, and along Lake Huron), where my friend had been a member for many years and where I had done a little volunteer-guide work.  On December 25, 2020, I finally set up the model of the lighthouse in a residence where I live, and it is now in the living room of the place and within a Plexiglas enclosure; the model represents the lighthouse as it was, officially, from 1914 to 1919, when the first Fresnel lens was removed and shipped to Sand Hills Lighthouse of the Ahmeek area of Michigan, where it was the first Fresnel lens used at Sand Hills Lighthouse.  In February 2021, I began to work on the models of the icebreaker, which was originally called The Mackinaw WAG-83 and was mostly called The Mackinaw WAGB-83 (it was on the Great Lakes from 1944 to 2006).  It should take some time to complete the models (four models, representing four different years of the boat) and everything associated with the models, such as the display case.
Now, let me take up a related subject.  In 2020, I did almost no work on the model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse, which can be seen in a photograph that exists in Michigan Travel Tips #198, which can be reached through this Travel #198 link, because I was not at the residence where the model was and where most of my tools were.  From early March 2020 to late summer 2020, I did do work related to Forty Mile Point Lighthouse, and it was research work.  The research work was inspired by the vice president (then) of the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse Society, Mr. Eric Klein, who wondered if I could track down what happened to the first Fresnel lens used at Forty Mile Point Lighthouse.  In March 2020, the COVID-19 thing hint, so I took up nearly daily research, using the Internet and using many sources on the Internet.  I began by looking for photographs of Fresnel lenses, all types and sizes (or "orders"), and I have a digital file of Fresnel lenses now, and during the search for lenses, I came across a lens at the Maine Lighthouse Museum, which is a fourth-order lens that has six panels, each of which has a bullseye and each of which has five prisms above the bullseye and three prisms below the bullseye, and there are two circular prisms around the bullseye proper, and the lens is unidentified as to where it was used.  The format of the lens is the format for the Fresnel lens that I was searching for--the format for the first lens used at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.  I knew what the first lens used at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse was like from a 1911 (circa) inventory document (an official government) of the lighthouse, but I did not have a photograph of the lens.  While collecting photographs of Fresnel lens, I was collecting information for two documents.  One document, which is about 150-pages long (in single-space form) now, looks at the lens and "characteristic" history of some 450 lighthouses of the country, covering the Great Lakes, the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific Ocean.  I collected the information to find, for instance, all the places where the lens at the Maine Lighthouse Museum could have been used, even if it had not been used at Forty Mile Point Lighthouse and Sand Hills Lighthouse.  I also made a companion document, which could be used in a process-of-elimination scheme.  While the long document has information about all types of lighthouses, from those with first-order lenses to those with smaller lenses, the companion document only has information about lighthouses that had flashing "characteristics" and had a fourth-order lens or fourth-order lenses.  By the way, I report that the lens at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse was a rotating lens and that non-rotating lenses were more commonplace than rotating lenses were from, for example, 1845 to World War II (at least).  I used the second document to prove why the lens at the Maine Lighthouse Museum could not been used that this lighthouse or that lighthouse, and some of the reasons for elimination were a lens was still at a certain lighthouse (though maybe only on display), a lighthouse had a lens that did not have only six panels (each of which had a bullseye), and a lighthouse did not have a lens with the "five-three" format (five upper prisms and three lower prisms).  The second document can be called a proof document.  On March 27, 2021, I sent an email to Ms. Dot Black of the Maine Lighthouse Museum, which seems to be having funding problems or which has been having funding problems for a while.  I reported that my research shows that, at the moment, there are only two possible places where the fourth-order lens with six panels and the five-three format of the Maine Lighthouse Museum could have been used.  The two possibilities are 40 Mile Point Lighthouse and Stratford Shoal Lighthouse (of sort of New York and Connecticut).  Stratford Shoal Lighthouse is still in the running, since little information is available about the lighthouse, but I know, for many years, the lighthouse had a flashing format (a "characteristic") that hints that the mystery lens could have been at Stratford Shoal Lighthouse, having a flash every ten seconds (as reported in what are called "light-list"-type books).  The first lens used at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse had a characteristic of a flash every ten seconds (being, really, a flash for 1.2 seconds and an eclipse for 8.8 seconds).  The target lens at the Maine Lighthouse Museum would easily produce a flash every ten seconds, like that seen at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse from 1897 to 1919.  The lens at the Maine Lighthouse Museum may not have been used at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse, but it certainly looks like what the lens first used at 40 Mile Point Lighthouse probably looked like.  I have to report that I think the lens at the Maine Lighthouse Museum is the lens that I am looking for, since Fresnel lenses are valuable, and once removed, such as by the U.S. Coast Guard, such lenses do not get destroyed, or from 1919 to at least 2020, Fresnel lens were not removed and destroyed as a practice.  By the way, it is not easy to find a five-three fourth-order Fresnel lens, since I cannot find evidence that many were produced.  I have a number images of six-three fourth-order lenses and six-four fourth-order lenses in my digital file.  Incidentally, Fresnel lenses came in seven sizes (from the first-order, which was the largest format) through third-and-a-half order to the sixth-order (which was the smallest).  Once again, in an edition of Michigan Travel Tips, I have to report that I am not associated with Forty Mile Point Lighthouse (as a museum entity) and that my membership was revoked a couple years ago (for opposing socialistic rules for the by-laws of the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse Society, such as the policy of having only the "board" change the by-laws and not having the membership vote on the by-laws), and, in fact, I am the only person to ever have membership revoked in the history of the Forty Mile Point Lighthouse Society since 1996.

Warning announcement!  Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips.  The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islamic law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law."  Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining  business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia."  When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion, and it promotes killing of non-followers behind the face of religion and a god, Allah).  By the way, a society based on "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping the ideas of the society based on ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders), whose main purpose is too keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really.  Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than the U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.

Since 2008, I have collected some 1,700 photographs of the outside of the old icebreaker called The Mackinaw WAGB-83, and I have developed a document of some 650 pages (in single space form about the icebreaker), some of the information of which came from some 2,500 old newspapers articles.  My research shows that the icebreaker had hard years, such as 1947, when there was a lot of heavy and tough ice on the Great Lakes, and had easy years, and, in fact, I learned that between 1900 and 2006, the weather went from tough years to easy years to tough years to easy years....  That is how nature is.  I was reminded of the theme about the weather of the Great Lakes over the last century through a story in the Detroit Free Press for March 27, 2021, entitled "Warmer planet complicates crop storage" [Flesher, John.  "Warmer planet complicates crop storage."  Detroit Free Press, 27 March 2021, pp. 1A and 7A.}.  I knew from the headline that the story was more global-warming crap from socialists and communists, and the story did show up more rotten people in Michigan, such as the writer of the story and at least one person quoted in the story, both of whom could be exposed in one of my documents.  A man called Brian Sackett (of Mecosta, Michigan) provided this material for the article--"...'Our good, fresh, cool air is getting less all the time, it seems like,'....".  Then later in the article, there was this material--"...The annual period with outdoor air cool enough to store potatoes in Michigan's primary production area likely will shrink by up to 17 days by mid-century and up to a month by the late 2100s, according to an analysis by Julie Winkler, a Michigan State University geography and climate scientist."...."  The thoughts from Julie Winkler and Brian Sackett are based on nothing--it is all a wild guess.  In 1946, people had no idea that 1947 would be one of the worst winters for the Great Lakes, so how can, for example, Julie Winkler predict what will happen in the late 2100s.  Julie Winkler, Brian Sackett, and John Flesher are some of the rotten people who exist in Michigan, and you might come across them while heading to one of the tourist attractions that exist in the state, which could be Isle Royale National Park.

And I make clear that it could be quite a while till the models of The Mackinaw are completed because I do not spend the entire year at one residence.

Hey, I have some extra stuff.  In early August 1905, there was about a week of big trouble at Stratford Shoal Lighthouse.  For about a week, the head lighthouse keeper was away, and the first assistant keeper (Merrill Hulse) was in charge at the lighthouse.  One evening, the second assistant keeper (Julius Coster) returned from shore, where he had been drinking a lot--a lot.  It seems Julius Coster went nuts, and Merrill Hulse had to deal with a nut, who, for example, tried to put out the light and damage the lighthouse.  When the head keeper came back, the head keeper and the first assistant keeper were finally able to put Julius Coster out of commission.  In October 1905, The Joseph S. Fay (a steam barge) was pulling another vessel near 40 Mile Point Lighthouse on Lake Huron, and it was a time of a big storm.  In the evening, The Joseph S. Fay sank off shore from the lighthouse, and one man on The Joseph S. Fay was killed, and his body was not be found till early December 1905.

    Enjoy your traveling in Michigan!

And keep aware of the rotten people in Michigan.

    Stay well!

    Victor

P.S. #1: Remember: While you travel in Michigan, remind your children or grandchildren that they should never pledge to be a "servant to Obama" or a servant to any politician or sing the praises of Barack Obama, and to help you remember other matters that you should teach children about bad politicians, such as Barack Obama (who can be described as an "enslave"), see such other documents of mine as Conservatism for Children and What Conservatism Means (which can be reached through this link: Conservatism) and Lessons for Children about Politics and Dangerous People (which can be reached through this link: Children).  (Note: I first passed along the subject of not being a "servant to Obama" and the like in the publication entitled T.H.A.T. #58, which can be reached through this link: T.H.A.T. #58.)

P.S. #2: While you travel in Michigan, it is easy to come across evidence of rotten people or to meet rotten people. One really rotten man is Richard Bernstein, who is a new member to the Supreme Court for the State of Michigan.  Evidence of his rottenness can be found in my document entitled Richard Bernstein--A Man Who Hopes You Are Blind to His Rottenness, which can be reached through this Bernstein link.  Yet, on Monday, January 12, 2015, the Detroit Free Press did a story about Richard Bernstein to sell Richard Bernstein as something good, though he is not (Ahern, Louise Knott.  "State's 1st blind justice aims to be inspiration."  Detroit Free Press, 12 January 2014, p. 4A.).  I report--I urge anyone who runs a business and loses a court case in which Richard Bernstein was one of the presiding judges to have the decision thrown out or killed through another case, since Richard Bernstein, while running to be elected to the Supreme Court of Michigan, made it clear that he was going to be biased against businesses if he were to be elected to the Supreme Court of Michigan, and that is a fact.  Richard Bernstein is a rotten man!
