Special opening commentary: Let us see how smart you are. In the 1900s, the federal government attacked through court action such companies as International Business Machines (or IBM), NBC radio, AT&T, and Microsoft for being monopolies; a monopoly is an entity that has complete control of something, such maybe the complete control of the business done in a city fish market (when you think of a small-scale example). Now, Barack Obama is working to set up a national health-care system for the country, and what would be created would be a monopoly. So, if you do not want a national health-care system, you are at least pretty smart, and if you want a national health-care system, you are an idiot or a jackass or a nitwit!
In the 1960s, television viewers were enthralled with some science-fictionl series, because the series focused on life in outer space in the future. One show was Lost In Space, which ran for three seasons; by the way, the first season was shot on black-and-white film, and the next two seasons were shot on color film. Another series was Star Trek, which in the dacades to come would be followed by Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Enterprise (or Star Trek: Enterprise).
Here is bad news for science-fiction fans who hope the future will some day soon be like those science-fiction series mentioned in the first paragraph--The real drive to go into space will not be evident during the time of Barack Obama.
Consider some thoughts. First, Barack Obama is a communist. Second, Barack Obama wants to control people as a dictator. Third, Barack Obama does not think about others and the future, and, in fact, I say that he is insane, based on, for example, his willingness to hurt people by killing the stock market and retirement investments of people (who had been saving for decades). (I could mention more reasons.)
Many of the special documents about Barack Obama at the Web site of The Hologlobe Press prove what is hinted at in the previous paragraph.
A big reason that Barack Obama will not focus on things that that will allow man of today to work toward the goal of going to places in space in the future centuries is--if people do go, they may not return, because the people will want to escape the tyrant that is Barack Obama, as people did in, for example, the 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s to get to the new land, which was the North American continent and later the United States of America (Remember: The United States of America and The U.S.Constitution, which is a protection document for the individual against tyrants and government, were created by those fleeing dictators, kings, and bad times caused by governments).
For tyrants to succeed--those people who think they know it all but do not--all others must not, and, in truth, when all others do not succeed, tyrants bring about failiure and often times failure on a mass scale, which describes many places in the world.
Good luck in your endevors aimed at going in to space!Keep in mind: Governments and politicians never do really create anything, and a good example is television. It was a farmer in the U.S.A. who really came up with the idea of practical all-electronic television, which has been the standard since the mid-1900s; in essence, that man--Phil T. Farnsworth--was plowing rows for planting crops in a field, and he noticed the lines across the field, and he thought about having a electonic beam run back and forth across a television screen to produce images. A government or a politician cannot dictate innovation or a new technology to simply appear at some given time and be worthwhile--innovation or new technology happen when they happens though the work of a mind that thinks, and politicians do not think about innovation and new technology (such as supposedly new "green technology" that will drive the future).

When Friday, June 12, 2009, ended, the television world in the U.S.A. made a big transition--full-power television stations stopped broacasting in analog form, and now full-power television stations only broadcast in digitial (there are still low-power stations that broadcast in analog form, as they are allowed to do). In the past, I have talked about the analog-to-digital transition, and I have talked about television stations that could be picked up in the Detroiit area and could be picked up in the Hammond Bay area (both areas of which are in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan), and now I have more information. On June 11, 2009, people in the Hammond Bay area had three analog signals to choose from (a signal for an NBC-TV affiliate, a signal for a CBS-TV affiliate, and a signal for an ABC-TV affiliate), and they had digital signals for the NBC-TV affiliate, a signal for the CBS-TV affiliate, a signal for a Fox affiliate (which had shown up somewhat recently), and two channels associated with a PBS affiliate (and one channel was the regular PBS affiliate signal on a subchannel, and the other was a signal for the "Create" network related to PBS). On June 12, 2009, the analog signals disappeared; the analog signal for the CBS-TV affiliate disappeared (at 6:45 a.m.), and the analog signal for the Fox TV affiliate disappeared at 8:45 a.m., and the analog signal for the ABC-TV affiliate disappeared in the morning, and the analog signal for the NBC-TV affiliate disappeared at 11:35 p.m. (after the showing of the late-evening newscast). Here is what people can pick up using an outdoor onmidirectional attenna in the Hammond Bay area now: Channel 4.1 is the NBC-TV affiliate (which is WTOM-DT); Channel 4.2 is the ABC-TV affiliate (which is WGTQ); Channel 6.1 is picked up or recognized as a signal but there is no progamming signal (the channel is affiliated with the PBS affiliate known as WCMU); Channel 6.2 is a PBS affiliate (which is WCML, which is associated with WCMU and is known has Channel 24); Channel 6.3 (which is the "Create" network and is affiliated with WCML); Channel 8.1 (which is WGTQ); Channel 10.1 is the CBS-TV affililiate (which is WWUP-HD); and Channel 10.2 is the Fox TV affiliate (which is WWUP-SD). No station is carrying the Retro Television Network for the Hammon Bay Area; people in northwestern Lower Michigan do get a feed of the Retro Television Network on a subchannel, and people in the Detroit area get a feed of the Retro Television Network. Here is what people now have in the Detroit area in relation to digital signals: Channel 2.1 (WJBK-HD, which is a Fox TV affiliate and in high definition); Channel 2.2. (WJBK in a less than high definition); Channel 4.1 (WDIV-HD, which is an NBC-TV affiliate); Channel 4.2 (which has the "this" network); Channel 7.1 (WXYZ-TV, which is an ABC-TV affiliate); Channel 7.2 (which has the Retro Television Network); Channel 7.3 (which is a weather channel associated with WXYZ-HD); Channel 20.1 (which is WMYD-HD, which is a MyNetworkTV affiliate); Channel 38.1 (WADL-HD, which is an "independent station"); Channel 38.2 (which is assciated with WADL-HD and has The Word Network programming); Channel 50.1 (WKBD-HD, which is an affiliate of The CW); Channel 56.1 (WTVS-HD, which is a PBS affiliate); Channel 56.2 (which is a channel associated with WTVS-HD; Channel 56.3 (which has the "Create" network); and Channel 62.1 (WWJ-HD, which is a CBS-TV affiliate). In the Detroit area, viewers can still pick up several low-power stations, and those stations are Channel 18; Channel 23; Channel 26; Channel 33; Channel 48; and Channel 66. And, in the Detroit area, there are some Canadian full-power stations still available in analog form, such as Channel 9; Channel 30; and Channel 54.
By the way, after stopping the broadcasting of a program signal through the analog carrier, WJBK-TV--for about two weeks--ran roughly a four-minute feature about hooking up a converter on the analog carrier; however, scattered within the two weeks were a few showings of an in-house feature featuring Huel Perkins and Jason Carr.
Advertisement (a sustainer): Here is an advertisement that no one paid for and for which I received no compenstation--I do what I want. Mark R. Levin of The Mark Levin Show (a nationally syndicated radio show) has an important book in publication, and it is called Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto. This book talks about how the individual, such as you, is losing rights in the country because of government policies, especially those that have been pushed through by left-leaning politicians--Barack Obama, Democrats, Marxists, and such. You should see the book, read the book fully, and tell other persons about the book.
So, the country is well into the digital age, and I have stated in the past, television is well into the dislikeable age (I have mentioned that before roughly the 1970s, television was likeable, and, today, it is hard to find likeable programs--since so much is dark or rough or loud or even mean), and I have to show an example of the unlikeableness of television today, and I have already mentioned this example in another document about a month ago (the document is Never Forget These Media "Darlings" (?) -- A Guide for the Individual in the United States of America). On Monday, June 8, 2009, David Letterman used his late-night show (Late Night with David Letterman) to deliver a horrid joke, in which he hinted that Sarah Palin's daughter (who was 14 years of age) was raped by a baseball player (Alex Rodriguez) at a recent major-league baseball game (the quotation is available in the "David Letterman" section of the document listed in the previous sentence). Besides David Letterman chuckling, the audience laughed, too. That shows the sickness of David Letterman and the sickness of those he attracts for an audience.

In recent editions of T.H.A.T., I have talked about the 1960s television series entitled The Prisoner, and I now do it again. In the episode of The Prisoner entitled The Chimes of Big Ben, a character known was No. 2 (who was played by Leo McKern) made this statement: "Oh, certainlly, but both sides are becoming identical. A perfect blueprint for World Order. When the sides facing each other suddently realize that they're looking into a mirror, they'll see that this is the pattern for the future."
Oh, through this edition of T.H.A.T., I again urge you to buy the box DVD set of The Prisoner so that you can enjoy it, study it, and learn from it, and I again urge you to run the episodes for children so that they can see what the series, which featured Patrick McGoohan, is about.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2009, Barack Obama was in Moscow, Russia, and he made this statement to students (who are graduating at Economic School, Moscow):
"...Make no mistake, this change did not come from any one nation. The Cold War reached a conclusion because of the actions of many nations over many years and because the people of Russia and East Europe stood up and decided that its end would be peace...."
Here, Barack Obama again put down or pulled away credit from the United States of America and, for instance, U.S. President Ronald Reagan for the fall of the Soviet Union, but that is to be expected from a man who is insane, hates the United States of America, is a racist, is pals with such dictators as Chavez and Castro, insults the British, and put down the United States of America while on trips to many foreign countries (such as those in Central America, the Middle East, and Europe).
By the way, on Wednesday, July 8, 2008, Barack Obama was in Italy for the G8 summit, and he really showed more of what an insane man he is (see such documents of mine as "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, Nonsense Statements and Quotations of Barack Obama, and A Little History of Barack Obama Events: A Show of Deconstruction, the latter of which can be reached through this link: History).Announcement: Since national broadcast television networks do a poor job of covering information about many important topics, I will try to take up the work of filling some of the holes. I urge you to see www.saveourhealthcarenow.com and www.noperformancetax.org, because they have important information about the country. The former has information about the health-care industry in the United States of America, and you should and must see it, and you are urged to sign the petition that exists there, and the latter has information about a proposed tax system related to radio stations and music, and the latter will show you what nonsense that U.S. Representative John Conyers (a Democrat of Michigan) is trying to push on the country.
Again, I have one of those "Did you see this on your favoite newscast? segment. On June 10, 2009, a big story about the nation was reported to the public, led by U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (a Republican related to Michigan), and, for instance, the story was covered by Mark R. Levin on The Mark Levin Show (which is a nationally syndicated radio program that is aired on weekdays). Mike Rogers reported that he had recently learned, while in Afghanistan, that Barack Obama had set it up so that U.S. military, FBI agents, and CIA agents were now required to give the "Miranda Rights" to captured combatants--in the past, the "Miranda Rights" had only applied to citizens of the U.S.A. Mike Rogers was angry, as was Mark Levin, and everyone should be angry since Barack Obama's policy is a terrible, terrrible, horrid idea, which can get people killed and opens up the U.S.A. courts to enemies caught during war time. If your favorite newscast did not report this on June 10, 2009, or maybe June 11, 2009, that shows that the operators of the newscast are bad people and that you are uninformed about bad things (See the document of mine that is entitled A Little History of Barack Obama Events: A Show of Deconstruction, particularly the note that follows the entry "number 19" or the entry related to June 5, 2009.)
Let me remind you of some text that I presented in the previous edition of T.H.A.T. "My research has convinced me that Barack Obama's wish to switch to a federal-government-run health-care system would be a bad idea, since such systems are failing in such countries as Canada and England (to see the problems with the health-care system in the U.K., you should see the many real newspaper articles and such that are available through liberty-page.com (I talked about the topic more fully in Michigan Travel Tips #60, which can be reached at this link: Travel #60)). To date, I have yet to see a good and long and detailed television program about the health-care system in the U.K. presented on MSNBC, CNN. NBC-TV, CBS-TV, or ABC-TV, which would really show how the government-run health-care system in the U.K. is falling apart and how individuals, especially the elderly, are being treated terribly."
Reminder: Remember to tell your children and grandchildren that they should never pledge to be a "servant to Obama" or a servant to any president, which was a topic in T.H.A.T. #58, and remember to tell them to not blindly "believe" in leaders, and that is a lesson in this edition of T.H.A.T., as it was in the past and will be in the future.
I have another example of how bad television news has become. On Friday, June 26, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives voted on the Waxman-Markey Bill, which, I will say, is a super-big tax bill related to "global warming" or "climate change," which is a hoax, and the bill was passed 219 to 212; almost no one who voted on the bill was able to read it (the bill was really about 1,200-pages long with an admendment section of about 300 pages, which has been added to the bill at about 3:00 a.m. on the day. The bill is truly a piece a bad legislation and was voted on in the evening, and I noticed, for instance, that WDIV-HD in Detroit made no metion of the bill during the 11:00 p.m. newscast, and that is bad.
Announcement: Do not forget to promote or take part in "tea parties," which are anti-Obama events! By the way, you may not have heard some information about "tea parties" of July 4, 2009 from the main broadcast television networks, so I present the information. Jerome Corsi of WorldNetDaily reported on The Billy Cunningham Show (which is a nationally syndicated radio show) on Sunday evening, July 5, 2009, that WorldNetDaily had information about somewhere around 2,000 "tea parties" of the July 4th, 2009, holiday period. The number is over 1,000 greater than the number of "tea parties" of April 15, 2009.
If you wish to avoid giving a donation to nonprofit groups that support "global warming" legislation or "climate-change" legislation, such as the very bad American Clean Energy and Security Act (which is also known as the Waxman-Markey Bill), give to something better--consider making donations to the Heritage Foundation and the Landmark Legal Foundation, which are organizations that support The U.S. Constitution and are working to defeat Barack Obama's plans to take over the country. (You should see my document entitled "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, which can be reached through this link: Carbon.)
In September 2008, Barack Obama made this statement:
"...family making less than $250,000 a year, my plan will not raise your taxes--not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of our taxes...."On Sunday, June 28, 2009, George Stephanopoulos talked with David Axelrod (a big associate of Barack Obama) on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, and here is some of the dialogue:
George Stephanopoulos: "The President said he was open to it, so that means that the tax pledge he made back in September is no longer operative."
David Axelrod: "First of all, there are a lot of different formulations, ah, of that plan. The President has said in the past that he doesn't believe taxing health-care benefits at any level, ah, is necessarily the best way, ah, to go here. He still, ah, believes that. But there are number of, ah, of formulations, and we'll wait, ah, and see."
George Stephanopoulos.: "But if you're open to tax increases for people under $250,000, that means that the pledge he made last September...is no longer operative."
David Axelrod: "George, I think the President's made clear the way he feels this should be funded and, ah, and that certainly is consistent with, ah, what he said during." (George interrupts him.)
George Stephanopoulos.: "...line in the sand."Announcement for the novice: To get useful news, go to Fox News Channel, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama, as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (to learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the Fox News Channel and those mentioned with it in presenting political stories and events, and you should discover CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV avoid covering things that make Barack Obama look bad or show his true nature, which could harm you). If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.
By the way, on Thursday, June 19, 2009, at about 8:50 a.m., I was watching Channel 33, WHPR-TV, a low-power television station, and the host (a woman) was pushing ideas about the "green" revolution that I could tell were based in Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals themes about taking part in the revolution centered on pollution. By the way, officially, the program on the air was The Reverend Jim Holley Show, but Reverend Holley was not hosting. At the start of the nine o'clock hour that morning, the show ran a propoganda film called The Third Wave, which was about "green jobs" and such.
In the past, I have noted how the big broadcast television networks have lost the ability to be "fun," and now I note that the networks must think the Earth is on a collision course with death (mostly because of manmade global warming/climate change), and they are in a panic. Some time ago, networks programming executives scheduled for the summer several End-of-the-Earth-type movies; for instance, ABC-TV set the air dates for the two-part miniseries about the potential destruction of the Earth because of the moon called Impact, and those dates were Sunday, June 21, 2009, and Sunday, June 28, 2009, and NBC-TV set the air dates for the two-part miniseries about a meteor heading for the Earth entitled Meteor, and those air dates were Sunday, July 12, 2009, and Sunday, July 19, 2009, and NBC-TV set the air dates for a two-part movie about a devastating meteorological event for the Earth entitled The Storm, and the air dates were Sunday, July 26, 2009, and Sunday, August 2, 2009. Aaahhhhh! We're done for--if the networks had anything to say about it it seems!
Special closing commentary: You are an idiot if you have not figured out that everything that Barack Obama does is done to hurt the United States of America or destroy the United States of America or kill the United States of America, and when you understand that, all the Barack Obama does will make sense to you and you will no longer be an idiot (unless you are an idiot no matter what).
