Special Important Announcement

I now have videos on YouTube, and they are history pieces, and they can be found at the channel for "The Hologlobe Press" (the search term).  One of the videos is about my making of a model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse, and other videos are about Ms. Anna May Wong, Ms. Sandy Benson (The Naked Lady of The Soupy Sales Show of KABC-TV), and WAYN-AM (of Wayne State University).  By the way, you can use this Videos link to read about my videos.  And I still have a document at the website for The Hologlobe Press entitled A COVID-19 Document that Shows the Rottenness of the CDC, Many in the Medical Community, Many in the Media, and All the Democrats, such as Gretchen Whitmer, Andrew Cuomo, and Joseph Biden, and the document can be reached by using this COVID-19 link.

- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 256 - - -

I start out this edition of Television History and Trivia with sex talk!  Hey, did that get your attention?  I have reported in the past that I have called Glenda Lewis (of WXYZ-TV news) this term--"Ms. Erotic News Gal."  She has pretty brown skin, especially in the upper boob area.  Recently, I got exposed to another erotic news gal.  So I now have two on my list.  On July 16, 2025, I was not in the Detroit area, where WXYZ-TV is located, and I was "up north" in Michigan, and in about the one o'clock hour in the afternoon, I turned on  television set, and I ended up on the NBC-affiliate channel of northern Lower Michigan.  It was around 1:50 p.m..  What was airing surprised me, and what was on was an episode of The National News Desk (which is a syndicated news program, the history of which goes back to January 2021).  I expected to see an NBC-TV network show on the air or something else.  I do not know when the program began to run on the day, but it was probably at 1:30 p.m..  Today, the maker of the newscast actually distributes three blocks of programming on a weekday, and the entity has a weekend version, and, by the way, the midday weekday version runs 30 minutes.  I was unaware this channel (such as 8.2) of the television station associated was airing The National News Desk on a regular basis   For the day, two television-program-listing websites did not list The National News Desk as being on the air for the channel.  For the roughly ten minutes that I was able to see of the newscast, I saw three main gals as presenters--a blonde, Angela Brown, and Dee Dee Gatton.  Holy crap!  Holy cow!  Dee Dee Gatton was wearing a tight dress.  Dee Dee Gatton looked super gorgeous!  The National News Deck is being promoted as a conservative-related news thing (a non-communistic-related and non-socialistic-related and non-progressive-related news thing).  In the future, I might take a look at the show and do a review, but there is no review in this edition of Television History and Trivia, except about the look of Dee Dee Gatton.

Now, I can get into the main topics of this edition of Television History an Trivia, and I start by noting that it has been about a year since the Channel 3 group of the Detroit area has been a bomb.  Today, the channel group (under WHNE-TV) has a one main channel and 13 subchannels, the newest of which is Channel 3.14, which has a programming feed (network) called Z Living.  I have no real understanding of what Z Living is, and that is because, the operators of the channel group have almost no video available to viewers--Channel 3.2 through 3.14 only have audio.  I have covered this topic before, but I have to note that the entity that owns the channel group (under WHNE-TV) seems to be really stupid.  In essence, WHNE-TV is sort of on the air as an "invisible" television station--it is there, yet not there.  I have been looking for a way to easily send an email to the operators of WHNE-TV to ask why people can see almost no video on the station (there is video on Channel 3.1), but I have yet to find a way in which to make contact.  If you owned a television station, would you not want to make sure something was actually on the air, given sponsors would complain if their commercials were not being seen?  In a way, the operators of the each of the feeds of the Channel 3 group are probably touting to people that their channels can be seen in the Detroit are--noting that information on, for example, webpage lists--not knowing they are not actually on the air and have not been for ages.

Local television newscasts in at least the Detroit area have turned into useless things as a rule, and there is even stupid stuff.  Over the last two months o so, I have seen something stupid from Channel 4.1 (WDIV-TV) through a promo involving one of the lead anchors--Ty Steele (whose name always makes my think of the character called Dash Riprock of The Beverly Hillbillies television series of about sixty-five years ago).  In the promo, Ty Steele pushes out the idea--"I'm proud to tell your stories.". It is a bullshit slogan.  How about telling stories about the world that show up crap?  Decades ago, Channel 4 did not push out the ideas of telling "your stories," which is useless news for the audience.  While on this subject, I have side note.  WDIV-TV is affiliated with NBC, such as NBC News, which is a corrupt entity.   NBC Nightly News is now hosted by Tom Llamas [who was probably hired to anchor the so-called newscast because he is Cuban, and NBC can tout his parents (with him) had escaped Cuba, a communist country, so viewers should trust Tom Llamas as a good American), but NBC News is a corrupt news entity, as I have shown in editions of Television History and Trivia in the past.  On July 31, 2025, I caught the end of the NBC Nightly News newscast for the day, and I saw a jackass report (from Joe Fryer) about men who are making friends and about men not having my friends, and it is a type of story or feature that should be left to local television stations, particularly the morning fluff shows, and then I caught Tom Llamas's closing statement--"We're here for you!".  The slogan is crap, since it comes from a corrupt entity.  By the way, I wonder if WDIV-TV hired Ty Steele because he looks like a muscleman, unlike news anchors of WDIV-TV or WWJ-TV of the past, such as Paul Williams, Dick Westercamp, Ven Marshall, John Hutman, Dwayne X. Riley, Dean Miller, Jerry Blocker, Lowell James, John Blunt, Mort Crim, and Bob Pisor.

Hey, on July 28, 2025, I happened catch crap from TMZ Live (a syndicated series), which somewhat recently had ended up with new settings [Note: By the way, in the 1940s and early 1950s, it was commonplace for the word "settings" to be used to report on people who were involved in making the sets for television shows, such as for network shows, and it was commonplace for "credits" of shows to show who did "settings" for shows.].  Harvey Levin and crew members of TMZ Live worked to sell the idea that Donald J. Trump is racist since Donald J. Trump once said something like the country should have more Norwegians and Swedes come to the country as immigrants.  During the same program (of July 28, 2025), the program had Al Sharpton (a black racist and socialist at least) on the air, and the program gave the impression that Al Sharpton is a good guy.  The TMZ Live presentation about Donald J. Trump was subtle, but it was done, and it was political bullshit.

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the first half of the 7:00 p.m. hour or so, I was not in the Detroit area, and I was up north, and I had the ABC-TV affiliate tuned in on my television set and the station was having a problem.  The station was airing over the over again the same block of a few promos, and one of the promos was for Good Morning, America.  Hold it!  The nature of a person can be determined often by the people with whom the person associates.  In the promo for Good Morning, America, one person seen was Jon Bon Jovi, a big supporter of socialism and communism and socialists and communists.  Jon Bon Jovi (a famous music guy) is big-time crap.  Other rotten people in the promo who also support rotten political ideas were Snoop Dogg, Taylor Swift, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jennifer Lopez.  Yet another person seen in the promo--each time--was Caitlin Clark (the famous basketball player).  Through a television promo, Caitlin Clark showed off what she truly is--rotten.

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in March 2019): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, try Breitbart News Network (the history of which goes back to 2007), WorldNetDaily.com, Newsmax TV (which was started up in 2014), CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), and One America News Network (a.k.a. OAN), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists, socialists, progressives, liberals, and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned).  I note that the Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph.  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  In 2019, "The Drudge Report" was sold, and it should be treated as suspect for now.   [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people tied to the Republican Party are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
[Note: Here is an example of Chris Christie's rottenness.  On Sunday, February 6, 2022, Chris Christie was a guest on This Week with George Stephanopoulos (of ABC-TV), which had Martha Raddatz as the host, and Chris Christie pushed out crap.  For example, Chris Christie said--"...And let's face it.  Let's call it what it is. January 6 was a riot that was incited by Donald Trump...an effort to intimidate Mike Pence and the Congress into doing exactly what he said in his own words last week--overturn the election.  And he's trying to do a cleanup on aisle one here...." and "...He actually told the truth by accident.  He wanted the election to be overturned....".  That is bullshit!]

In essence, the local television stations really do not do much these days.  Years ago, local stations had a variety of local programs on the air--from new programs to entertainment programs and nature programs to musical programs.  Today, much of the local programming, usually only from the so-called big stations--is so-called news-and-feature programs (more features (like filler talk or banter) than news, as on The Nine of WJBK-TV) or newscasts (which air the same stuff over the over on the same day, such as the same story about something, like a crash, at the start of every half hour of every newscast).  I have recorded in my files--on cards--the shows (certainly nearly all) that were presented locally over the decades since 1946.  Just for fun, I thought I should make a presentation of only a few of the shows of years ago, many of which have probably gone unremembered, and, in some cases, there are probably no people around who even saw some of the programs, such as those of the late 1940s when few people even had television sets on which to see what few shows were offered.
Hey, a war is going on between Russia and Ukraine, and it was Russia that started the war, and it seems to be that Russia--under the control of Putin--made that attack because that is all that Putin knows how to do, and that is to beat up on others to make himself look big and to get as much out of life as possible and as freely as possible--Putin attacked Ukraine so that he could get more control in his quests to be free to hurt others and gets things that others have.  About 78 years ago, there was a bombing of Detroit, Michigan--sort of.  On August 1, 1947, to celebrate Air Force Day, WWJ-TV (then the only television station the air) broadcast a mock bombing of Detroit by B-29s, and the coverage started at 1:45 p.m. and lasted till 2:15 p.m., and the callers of the event were Paul Williams and Bob Leslie, the former of whom was a big-deal television celebrity from the 1940s to the 1960s, especially in relation to sports.  Back in 1947, there were no "drones," which both the Russians and the Ukrainians have used to deliver bombs recently, and, by the way, I have for a couple years seen clips on YouTube that show the Ukrainians blowing up vehicles and tanks associated with the Russians.  Let go back in time again.  About two years later from 1947, WWJ-TV (now one of three television stations on the air in the Detroit area) broadcast a model airplane meet at Belle Isle, and that broadcast event took place on Sunday, August 28, 1949, starting at 3:30 p.m..  Incidentally, the model airplane event was called the 3rd International Model Plane contest, and it was held in a time when Detroiters, especially children, actually did things, such as take part in soap-box derby events, some of which got broadcast on local television.
One of the series on WXYZ-TV in 1951 was called Stag Party.  The original host of the series was Don Wattrick, who was mostly known for doing sports broadcasts, and the second host was Warren Kelly.  The series began on Tuesday, April 10, 1951, airing weekly at 10:30 p.m. for 30 minutes each time, and the show was aimed at men, and some of the regulars on the series were the Leonard Stanley Trio and a singer called Merri Leone and a singer called Gloria Goode.  What was presented was music and interviews and other things.  For instance, on April 24, 1951, officers from Selfridge Field were guests, and on June 26, 1951, people from Grace Hospital were guests.  Here is something that you will not see on television in local shows today--On August 7, 1951, two boys (Marvin and Jim Middleton) competed in a cow milking contest, and it was Marvin who won the contest.  Stag Party ended on September 25, 1951.
From Thursday, February 21, 1952, through Thursday, April 24, 1952, WJBK-TV, Channel 2, had a series on the air at 7:00 p.m., and it ran for 15 minutes each time.  By the way, these days, WJBK-TV airs a syndicated program at 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays, and that program is TMZ, which is hosted by Harvey Levin, and it is a program that skews to the socialistic side, and, recently, I have reported on some of the jackass specials that have been aired on broadcast network television from the producers of TMZ.  On February 21, 1952, Carls Mail Bag appeared for the first time.  One of the regulars was Babette, a French maid (who was played by Lillian Roman).  Good luck on having, for instance, a gal, such as Hilary Golston, Jessica Dupnack, Camille Amiri, Maurielle Lue, Deena Centofanti, or Jennifer Hammond, prance around in a French maid outfit, but, for me, I would not want to see any of them, since they lack the skill to come off as pleasant in a French maid outfit--that is a problem with the American woman because of the jackass teaching of modern feminism, in which women are supposed to look like men, which the majority of women in America seem to like, looking like a cliché fat male truck driver or plumber with the top of the butt crack showing in a bending-down action.
Hold it!  It is time for a station break or maybe a switch to another channel, going from Channel 2 to Channel 7 (WXYZ-TV).  Hey, put Ms. Erotic News Gal (Glenda Lewis) in a tight French maid outfit.
So far, I have covered the first three commercial television stations in the Detroit area, and now I come to the fourth commercial television station in the Detroit area, but, really, that fourth station was the first Windsor, Ontario, Canada, television station (the station was located across the Detroit River from Detroit, Michigan).  One of the earliest local series on that station of Windsor--CKLW-TV, Channel 9, which did programming to entertain people of not only Windsor but also Detroit in the early days--was Let's All Sing.  The series made a debut on Sunday, January 1, 1956, airing at 5:30 p.m. (for 30 minutes each time), and it was a weekly series.  The host or emcee was Gene Sherwood, and some of the regulars were Bill Marshall (who was featured on a piano) and Kitty Rayle (who was featured on an organ).  It was a group-sing program.
Two real astronauts--James McDivitt and Edward White of The Gemini 4)--made a personal appearance at the University of Michigan on Tuesday, June 15, 1965 (one of my birthday celebration days).  Several of the television stations in the Detroit area covered the personal-appearance event in specials.  For instance, WKBD-TV, Channel 50, presented coverage in a special that aired on June 15, 1965, at 10:00 p.m..  The reason that James McDivitt and Edward White showed up in Michigan was that they were receiving honorary degrees from the University of Michigan.
And that is a sampling of past shows that were broadcast by Detroit-area television stations years ago, and I have plans to do it again.

Announcement: Recently, I have added some new documents to the collection of my documents at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  One of the documents is entitled A Document that Dispels Myths and Nonsense of Science-Fiction Books, Movies, and Television Shows (A Logic Puzzle), which can be reached through this Myths link.  Another document is And So You Think You're Going to the Moon, Mars, or the Stars..., which can be reached by using this Moon link.  And yet another of the documents is entitled And the Stupid Women Shall Lead--and Lead Every Good Individual into Shit, Driven on by Communism, Feminism, and Defective Female Beliefs and Little-Girl Thinking, which can be reached through this Stupid Women link.  And here are other documents--A Review of What Television Controlled by Socialists and Communists Worked to Sell as Truth in Relation to the U.S. President Donald J. Trump Impeachment (at Impeachment) and T.H.A.T. Special Edition--The First Helicopter-based Traffic Reporters on Radio for the Detroit area of Michigan (at Helicopter Traffic).

In the 1940s and the early 1950s, on the Detroit-area television stations and made by the television stations, there were no half-hour or 35-minute newscasts starting at 11:00 p.m. on weekdays, and the best was usually a 15-minute newscasts in the late evening.  That means there was not a lot of padded and useless news and happy talk on the air.  For instance, on Friday, September 11, 1953, a local news show did not run at 11:15 p.m. on WJBK-TV, Channel 2.  What viewers got on that date at 11:15 p.m. was a movie, and the movie was no loud blow-em-up and dark feature, and what was presented was a movie called "Fun on a Week-end", which had as the featured performers Eddie Bracken and Priscilla Lane, and it was a romantic comedy, which begins on a beach one morning.  It was not one of those "beach" movies, like those that would show up in theaters for young people in the 1960s.  I have chosen "Fun on a Week-end" to be the presentation for Looking at the Movies in this edition of Television History and Trivia.  Also appearing in this presentation are, for example, Tom Conway, Allen Jenkins (the guy dealing with the two main performers at the diner), Arthur Treacher, Clarence Kolb, Fritz Feld, and Alma Kruger.  One person got credited as the producer, writer, and director of the movie--Andrew Stone.  And that is that for Looking at the Movies for this time.

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

Vic

P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link.  I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man."  For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President.  I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
