Palm Sunday--a religious holiday for some people--was Sunday, April 14, 2019, and it was the start of a holiday week leading to Easter, and on Monday, April 15, 2019, a big fire destroyed a big portion of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, and something smells to me, and it is not just charred wood and such at the Notre Dame Cathedral, especially given France has seen an up turn in the number of Shariaists (pushers of Islamic law for government in the world) recently and an upturn in damage at churches in the country. Yet, up to this date, French authorities report that it looks as if the fire was an accident of some type. But I am well aware the French government is socialistic, and there is nothing good about socialism, which regularly involves lies, and the French press is socialistic, and in recent history, the French have been placating people tied to Islam, trying to push the idea that Islam and Islamic law are good, but I report that Islamic culture based on Islamic Law is rotten. By the way, it seems odd to me--a non-Roman Catholic--that it took long for fire-fighting crews to be in force to work to put down the fire, and I have heard that crowded streets helped hinder fire-fighters from getting to the fire [Note: Are you going to tell me that hundreds of people on the streets--watching the fire--would not rush to get out of the way, such as by rushing in to every alley and nook and such as possible, to let fire-fighters get to their destination quickly?]. I shall always have a feeling--based on logic--that the French are taking a bit of information and drawing the wrong real conclusion, wishing not to make waves. Well, that is that, and now I go on with the main themes of this edition of Television History and Trivia.
Hey, did you catch these news stories on your favorite television news show? You probably did not since television newscasts are mostly filled with useless information and either avoid reporting on truly important things or are trapped into having to play regular stuff, like traffic information, first and instead, though the stuff is most often useless. On Thursday, April 11, 2019, the Attorney General in Dallas County of Texas--John Creuzot (a "Democrat")--showed off how rotten he is and how rotten "Democrats" are, and he did something that probably would be like something that the Attorney General of Michigan--Dana Nessel (a "Democrat")--would like to do. John Creuzot announced that he was going to push to have installed the idea that his office would not be involved in putting people in jail for petty crimes related to personal items--those involved in up to $750.00 in value and with no ties to making a profit. John Creuzot was pushing the idea that he wants to decriminalize poverty. You might think John Creuzot is thinking about not punishing people who might steal food and the like because they are poor, but that is not true. I state that, in essence, John Creuzot's idea is being done to break down the criminal justice system in the country--it is promoting lawlessness. It is rottenness. Just think of all the personal items that can cost less than $750.00, such as a television set and jewelry and CDs and books and more. Another news story showed up the crap that the "Pulitzer Prize" is. Pulitzer Prizes were awarded in April 2019, and The Wall Street Journal ended up with an award tied to reporting on the Stormy Daniels/Donald Trump theme, even though the event was all bullshit, and The New York Times got an award related to the useless topic about whether or not Donald Trump was a self-made rich guy. By the way, on April 14, 2019, The Daily Caller noted in a news story how The New York Times had had a book of Valerie Jarrett's (Finding My Voice: My Journey to the West Wing and the Path Forward) on the New York Times Best Sellers List, though information from Amazon showed the book did not deserve the distinction (Peltz, Jennifer, and Stephen R. Groves, Deepti Hajela, Kelli Kennedy, Janet McConnaughey, and Michael Kunzelman (of The Associated Press). "Pulitzers honor coverage of 3 US mass shootings." Yahoo!, 15 April 2019.).
I have to put this story in this edition of T.H.A.T. to show up a rotten man. On April 22, 2019, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders--a lover of communism and communists, who are rotten people--appeared at a town-hall event in Manchester, New Hampshire. At one point during the event, which got television coverage, Bernie Sanders was posed a question by a young woman, who, for one, wondered whether or not Bernie Sanders believed a felon, such as the recent Boston Marathon bomber, should be allowed to vote. Bernie Sanders pushed out the idea that he believed such killers--whom I say have a defective and distorted way of life and especially a defective and distorted believe in what life or death should be for others--should be able to vote, and Bernie Sanders actually said--"...I do believe that even if they are in jail, they're paying their price to society, but that should not take away their inherent American right to participate in our democracy....". I report that a person in prison or jail has not yet paid off the debt to society, so Bernie Sanders' theme is defective. In addition, I report that there is no "inherent American right" to vote for persons in prison; for example, The U.S. Constitution does not automatically give felons the right to vote.
Did your favorite television newscast note that the mayor of New York City, New York, thinks the planet will be saved by outlawing the use of processed meats, such as hot dogs, in facilities controlled by the city, such as hospitals? It was and is a national story, since it shows more of the rise of ignorance and rottenness in the country. On April 22, 2019, Mayor Bill De Blasio of New York City signed a bill called the Climate Mobilization Act into law. On that day, Bill De Blasio said such nonsense as--"...We also believe the estimates that tell us that we have only 12 years to get it right. Let's be clear, we have until 2030 to change things fundamentally, or our lives won't be the same...." and "....Every day we wait is a day our planet gets closer to the point of no-return. New York City's Green New Deal meets that reality head on...." and "....We are confronting the same interests that created the climate crisis and deepened inequality. There's no time to waste. We're taking action now, before it's too late...." Do you see the idiocy in Bill De Blasio's statements? For one, notice how Bill De Blasio is implying that eating processed meats, such as hot dogs, has led to "inequality" [Note: His idea of "inequality" is related to money that people may or may not have and to how some people have more money than others have.]. In addition, over the last four decades at least, the "estimates" related to the climate and man killing the planet have all been crap, and the most recent big-deal crap prediction was put out by the United Nations--a communistic and corrupt entity as a rule--in October 2018, and, actually, now--based on the crap prediction--Bill De Blasio should have said eleven years and a half [Note: To see more about the crap prediction, see my document informally entitled Countdown to the End of the World, which can be reached through this Countdown link.].
News entities, such as television news entities, all over of the country made a big deal of Joe Biden on April 27, 2019, because on that day, Joe Biden (a pusher of communism and socialism as good, which shows his rottenness as a man) made an announcement that he is running to be the next U.S. president. On that day, few television newscasts probably showed up the idiocy and rottenness of much of what Joe Biden said during this announcement. For example, Joe Biden (who has been a vice president for the country) said--"...The core values of this nation, our standing in the world, our very democracy, everything that has made America America is at stake...." and "...We are in the battle for the soul of this nation...." and "...I believe history will look back on four years of this president [U.S. President Donald Trump] and all he embraces as an aberrant moment in time...." and "...But if we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House, he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation, who we are, and I cannot stand by and watch that happen....". A smart and good person has to ask the self--To Joe Biden, what are the "core values of this nation" given the core values are not communism, which Joe Biden supports? To Joe Biden, what is the "soul of the nation" or what does he want the "soul of the nation" to be? Joe Biden was the vice president of the United States of America while Barack Hussein Obama was the U.S. president, and Barack Hussein Obama pushed for communistic laws for the country, and Barack Hussein Obama was a perpetual liar, and Barack Hussein Obama was a man who wanted to "fundamentally" change the country, as he said publicly. To fundamentally change the country, the country would have to be made a non-democracy or a country not based on The United States Constitution, which is an anti-communistic and anti-socialistic document, or the country would have to have a government-ruling system set up like Cuba or North Korea or China or Russia or Iran. In the announcement of April 27, 2019, Joe Biden never stated what he really believes in, and Joe Biden made listeners and viewers put unstated images in their heads--making people fool themselves by putting vagueness in their heads and things that may have had no standing with Joe Biden. I state that Joe Biden pushed out an image to cover up his rottenness, which he has been doing for decades.
A truly rotten news program, which some people in the United States of America see and some people around the world see, is called Democracy Now!. Notice the name of the program, which has existed on radio and television and the Internet for several decades or so. The program has nothing to do with "democracy." The operators of the program, such as Amy Goodman (who is the host), push for the installing of socialism and communism into countries, especially the United States of America. On May 1, 2019, U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar (a Democrat related to Minnesota) appeared on Democracy Now!, and the theme of the appearance was about Venezuela, which is a country that has fallen into shit because of socialism and communism--people have been starving and people have been leaving the country by the thousands. Ilhan Omar is a big--big--supporter for socialism and communism and especially Sharia (Islam Law), which is a highly rotten political system. On Democracy Now!, Ilhan Omar said--"...A lot of the policies, ah, that we [the United States of America] have put in place has kind of helped lead, uhm, the devastation in Venezuela. And we've sort of set the stage, uhm, for where we're arriving today....". "Arriving" and "where"--these words have to do with the coup-type operation--aimed against the president (a hard-line communist) and his associates in Venezula--that was going on. The words by Ilhan Omar show that she is a hard-line enslavist and a society-killer, and Ilham Omar is an enemy of good people throughout the world!
Up to this point, I have used five paragraphs of the main body of this document to show up rotten things that you may have caught on television news shows or so-called television news shows since April 10, 2019, but this paragraph now covers the worse incidents of the past month. On Monday, May 6, 2019, the United Nations pushed out more fake news that rotten television news people or entities could try to sell as useful to people in the world, especially in the United States of America, and, for example, the Detroit Free Press worked to sell the idea as useful through an article of May 7, 2019, entitled "UN report says 1 million species at risk of extinction" (Rice, Doyle. "UN report says 1 million species at risk of extinction." Detroit Free Press, 7 May 2019, p. 11A.). Look at some of the idiocy that the Detroit Free Press pushed out in its story--"In a sweeping, first-of-its-kind report, the United Nations on Monday said that more species now are threatened with extinction than at any time in human history, and that the exploding human population has severely altered the Earth's land, ocean and freshwater regions...." and "...The report said that 1 million of the planet's 8 million species of plants and animals are at risk of going extinct in the near future. Scientists blame human activities that have led to loss of habitat, climate change, overfishing, pollution and invasive species. According to the report, the pace of species loss 'is already tens to hundreds of times higher than it has been, on average, over the last 10 million years.'....". Okay, where does the information about the loss over the last ten-million years come from? Who was around to do the survey to know the true number of all the species that have existed? The scientific work on that subject has barely got started, being only some number of decades old. Who put the list of endangered species together (the one million or so)? Who determined which ones are going to disappear? There would have to be some type of team gathering information from every place of the Earth to determine the number (the one million), and the team would have to include millions and millions of persons doing survey work and study, given the Earth is super big. Notice the quoted text pushed out "near future." If the information about about the extinction were true, it seems to me that the report could push out a date, such as five years or ten years. The "near future" is crap information. The article pushed out the idea that man has "severely altered" the planet. I am well aware man has barely altered state of the planet, given the planet is very big and given evidence can be seen in satellite photographs of the planet, and, for example, where man has created cities and towns and such in the United States of America, wild animals are abundant. For example, a person can find skunks and deer and other wild animals living in the Detroit-Metropolitian area, and in rural areas of Michigan, wild animals seem to be doing well (though I have heard information about how, for instance, the rise in coyotes in parts of Michigan have reduced the numbers of other animals, such as racoons--coyotes have been eating other animals to live). And in cities and towns, people plant and have gardens and trees and flowers--it is not as if where man lives no plants live anymore. [Note: Count the weeds on the lawns of government buildings and such.] That is enough of that useless story from the United Nations, which is mostly controlled by socialists and communists. On Wednesday, May 8, 2019, the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, which is controlled by Democrats (communists and socialists) voted to hold U.S. Attorney General William Barr in contempt of the U.S. Congress (or at least the committee) for refusing to give up a non-redacted or an unredacted version of what has informally been called the "Mueller Report" and other names. Numerous news entities, such as the Detroit Free Press (Jansen, Bart, and Kevin Johnson. "House committee votes to hold Barr in contempt." Detroit Free Press, 9 May 2019, p. 13A.), did stories making it seem that William Barr was a bad guy or was in the wrong. However, a smart and good person knows the action by the Judiciary Committee was rotten and was a political ploy to make William Barr look like a bad person in the eyes of Americans--a smart and good person is aware, for example, grand-jury testimony, which exists in the "Mueller Report," is information that William Barr is not allowed by U.S. law to make public. In addition, on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, a smart and good person was well aware the entire "Mueller Report" event is fake, starting out with, in essence, a thing called the "Trump Dossier" which was produced by people associated closely with Hillary Clinton (a communist) and including the idea that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to win the presidency, though no votes were changed by the Russians (and there is no way in which the Russians could have been able to change the outcome of the election, since the United States of America does not have an election system controlled by the federal government--a centrallized unit). By the way, over the last two years, I have never really come across what the Democrats think Donald Trump did--there is always the idea that he colluded with Russia to affect the election. I ask--While Donald Trump was running to be the U.S. president, did he collude with the Russians to run commercials against Hillary Clinton or run anti-Hillary Clinton commercials? What the hell could he have done in relation to collusion? Nothing has been made clear. It has all been vague crap! Yet, the Judiciary Committee, based on a lie (the entire fake Donald Trump colluding mess), thinks William Barr should violate U.S. law and give out an unredacted "Mueller Report" to a whole bunch of people in the U.S. Congress, which would probably lead to leaks to the American public about stuff that should not be seen by the the American public. If Robert Mueller--whom a good person is aware sides with the communists and socialists in the country--would have found a way in which to really hurt and knock down U.S. President Donald Trump through the "Mueller Report", he would have done it, but there was no way in which Robert Mueller could--there was no evidence on which to base an attack. Yet, news entities pushed to make it seem William Barr was an enemy of the American people and was guilty of withholding stuff from the U.S. Congress, though William Barr was required by U.S. law to not release everything in the "Mueller Report". [Note: On the day that this document was posted on the Internet, the unredacted version of the "Mueller Report" had been available to 12 members of the U.S. House of Representatives (six Republicans and six Democrats) for a number of days, and the U.S. Representatives had to go to a special place to see the document, and on the date that this document was posted, the "Democrats" seemed to have made little effort to see the unredacted version of the "Mueller Report" (which could not be taken away from the special location in any form). [Cheney, Kyle, and Marianne Levine. "Just 2 lawmakers have seen less-redacted Mueller report." Politico.com, 30 April 2019, 06:11 pm. EDT.; Gesiotto, Madison. "Do Democrats really want to see the unredacted special counsel report?" The Hill, 6 May 2019, 06:00 EDT.]] And here is the third fake news story that television people could have helped push along. During the week of Monday, May 5, 2019, people were learning that hundreds of former federal prosecutors had signed or were signing on to a letter ("Statement by Former Federal Prosecutors") that noted that they would have "indicted" U.S. President Donald Trump; on May 7, 2019, at 9:33 a.m., I discovered the number of people signed on to the letter was "634" persons. A good and smart person has to wonder--What would the former federal prosecutors have "indicted" U.S. President Donald Trump for? The Robert Mueller investigation into Donald Trump and the election was started with a lie, and a good and smart person is well aware the investigation was started though there was no underlying idea that it is very likely that a crime was committed--An investigation should not have been started, since there was no hint of a crime to begin with. The "former federal prosecutors" story was a sham and a propaganda piece, and any news entity that hinted William Barr was not in the right is rotten.
Announcement for the novice again (reworked in May 2017): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned). I note that Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph. If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you. [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
In the previous edition of Television History and Trivia and in a document entitled Here, I Tie a Bunch of Dummies Together, I reported correct history related to a number of ventriloquist dummies, such as "Jimmy 'Skinney' Dugan", dispelling, for instance, bad information on the Internet, and in this edition of Television History and Trivia, I show up the bad information that exists to two webpages on the Internet--"Miss U.S. Television" tied to Wikipedia ("Miss U.S. Television." Wikipedia, 24 June 2017, 15:42 (UTC.) and Walter Schwimmer tied to IMDb ("Walter Schwimmer." IMDb, date unknown.). The website about Walter Schwimmer reports that Walter Schwimmer produced a television series entitled The Cisco Kid (which debuted through national syndication in late 1950 (such as on Thursday, October 5, 1950, in Detroit), which is wrong information, and the website about "Miss U.S. Television" notes, for instance, that the television show for 1950 was a Dumont Television network series, which is wrong, and the website about "Miss U.S. Television" is really incomplete. I start off with talking about Walter Schwimmer. Walter Schwimmer in the late 1940s and in the 1950s was involved with radio and television shows, such as being involved in producing radio shows that were heard throughout the country, and he was based in Chicago, Illinois. In 1950, he was instrumental is setting up a contest informally called "Miss U.S. Television Contest," and the purpose was to have a number of television markets in the country run local beauty/talent contests involving women, and each market was to come up with a winner, and the winner of each market then was to take part in a finale in Chicago--at the Chicago State Fair. By the way, the focus of this paragraph will mostly be on Detroit television history, since I cannot and wish not to do history of all the markets involved in the contest. In Detroit, it was WWJ-TV, Channel 4, that was involved in the 1950 contest, and WWJ-TV was an affiliate of NBC-TV and not Dumont TV (WJBK-TV, Channel 2, was the affiliate of Dumont TV in 1950 and an affiliate of CBS-TV). From Friday, July 24, 1950, through Friday, August 14, 1950, Channel 4 had contests to get finalists for a finale show, and the finale show for Detroit was broadcast on Thursday, August 17, 1950, from 10:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.. Then on September 3, 1950, the national finale was held, and WGN-TV, Chicago, broadcast the event--a one-hour event--and the broadcast was sent out through the Dumont TV network to other places in the country. The winner of the contest was Edythe Adams, who represented the New York City television market, and after the contest was held, Edythe Adams--who mostly became known as Edie Adams in television history and movie history--got to be on national television shows, on Broadway, and in some theatrical movies. In 1950, a man named Ernie Kovacs--a comedian--got his first television show, and between 1950 and January 13, 1962, when he died in an automobile accident, Ernie Kovacs became well known nationally for doing television shows and records and appearing at, for instance, dinner clubs. On September 12, 1954, Ernie Kovacs married Edie Adams, and they were married till he died. By the way, in 1956, Channel 9, CKLW-TV, which was a television station based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and across the Detroit River from Detroit, Michigan, held a beauty contest related to Michigan (especially the Detroit area), and on Friday, April 20, 1956, the finale was broadcast by Channel 9 as Miss TV Sweeheart Finals, and the winner was Nancy Kovack of Flint, Michigan, and Nancy Kovack went on to perform on national television shows and in theatrical movies, and it is sort of odd that "Nancy Kovack" and "Edie Kovacs" (professionally known as Edie Adams) had sort of similar last names. In 1951, another "Miss U.S. Television Contest" was held, and this time, the Detroit version involved WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, which was an affiliate of the ABC-TV network. The local contest in Detroit began with a broadcast on Channel 7 on March 23, 1951, and there was, in essence, weekly broadcasts through October 21, 1951 [Note: The series started out on Wednesdays, then moved to Mondays, and then to Sundays.]. The winner of the Detroit event was Florence Coletta, and on December 5, 1951, the finale for the national contest involved 13 young woman, one of whom was Florence Coletta. Once again, WGN-TV, Chicago, produced and aired the finale, and the finale was sent down the lines of the Dumont Television Network to other cities in the country. For 1951, the winner was Phyllis Magyers, who was representing Baltimore, Maryland, and, actually, she was considered "Miss U.S. Television for 1952." So far, I have no more information about Phyllis Magyers, but I can say that she did not become a well-known performer, as did Nancy Kovack and Edie Adams. Walter Schwimmer went on to other television business in the 1950s and 1960s; for instance, in September 1965, Walter Schwimmer (or, in essence, the Walter Schwimmer Co.) acquired the rights to a television series entitled The Cisco Kid (which featured Duncan Renaldo as "The Cisco Kid" and Leo Carrillo as "Pancho"). Hold it! Let me back up in time. In 1949, a man named John Sinn (the president of ZIV Television Programs) owned the radio rights to "The Cisco Kids" franchise, and a man named Philip N. Krasne owned the theatrical movie rights to "The Cisco Kid" franchise; and in roughly December 1949, the two men came to an agreement so that a television series called The Cisco Kid could be produced; by late 1949, John Sinn had been involved in producing a nationally distributed radio series about "The Cisco Kid" for several years and Philip N. Krasne had been involved in producing several theatrical movies about 'The Cisco Kid" (who had been played by Duncan Renaldo). In 1950, filming began on the television series called The Cisco Kid, and it was filmed with 16 millimeter (16 mm) "Kodachrome" (color) film, and each episode was roughly 30-minutes long. In the fall of 1950, the series--a Western--was put into national syndication, and, for example, it showed up on Channel 7 in Detroit on Thursdays at first, starting out on Thursday, October 5, 1950, at 7:00 p.m., and the stations around the country that licensed the series got "black-and-white" prints and not color prints of episodes. The main producers of the series were John Sinn and Philip N. Krasne, and Walter Schwimmer was not a producer on the series. In September 1965, I say again in other words, Walter Schwimmer acquired the television rights to all the episodes of The Cisco Kid (the 1950s television series)--156 episodes (originally filmed in color)--and in 1966, the Walter Schwimmer Co. began to syndicate the series called The Cisco Kid, and this time, the prints of the episodes put into syndication were in color. Originally, the series was filmed in color, because the producers were thinking ahead, thinking to a time when color television sets would be in viewers' homes. The national standard for color television did not come until 1953, and the big push to get color television sets in homes really took off in 1964, being pushed along in earnest by RCA Victor Company (the company that was involved in making color television sets with the "RCA Victor" label and that owned the NBC-TV network). It was in the 1960s when "Walter Schwimmer" appeared on film prints of The Cisco Kid, and really the wording only noted that the showings were a "presentation" of Walter Schwimmer. Today, if you see episodes of The Cisco Kid in color, you will see the credits as set up by Walter Schwimmer's company (at least partially). And that is that. So far, I have been able to prove that there was no "Miss U.S. Television" contest on a Detroit-area television station in 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, et cetera. Maybe, some place in the country had a "Miss U.S. Television" contest in at least 1952 and 1953, but it seems very unlikely, and I am not going to check every television market in the country to find out any more information. For now, I am done with Walter Schwimmer, The Cisco Kid, and the "Miss U.S. Television" contests.

There have been some changes in the broadcast-television-station universe in the Detroit area. Channel 14.12 (which is related to WHNE-LD or, informally, WHNE-TV) is now carrying the "Heartland" network, which is a country-music-themed network. Channel 19 (which is related to WUDL-LD or, informally, WUDL-TV) has seven feeds, one feed of which is now "Soul of the South Television" (Channel 19.6), which is aimed at blacks mostly and--I say--is a very low-quality network having too much repeat programming (such as chop-socky movies) over every couple days. A little while ago, The Now Network showed up on Channel 40.3 (which is related to WLPC-CD or, informally, WLPC-TV), and it is one of the four channels that make up the Channel 40 group, and The Now Network is a Christian lifestyle network, which mostly is aimed a blacks.
In the last edition of Television History and Trivia, I noted that Channel 14.6 has had a format change, though it still airs old movies mostly, such as those made in the 1930s and 1940s that are considered "B"-quality movies. I sort of miss the old format of the channel, which ran a movie then an infomercial and then a movie and then an infomercial...., because at least movies were not repeated several times (or many times) in a couple-day period, as they now are. The old format had no indication about what was going to air next or over the next couple of hours, and that was bad. The new format indicates what is going to be shown over the next few hours, and that is good. The new format has fewer infomercials than the old format had, and the new format has more short commercials or messages than the old format had, and that is no problem to me. The new format has too much filler stuff about the next feature will start in seven minutes or six minutes and about going to the refreshment stand (like at a drive-in), and that is bad--a lot of that type of filler could be replaced by old cartoons, such as from the 1930s. The channel is called "Classic Movies", and I say that "Classic Movies" lost standing for me through the format change [Note: I do not tune to it as much anymore. Rats!].
The final main segment for this edition of Television History and Trivia is the regular monthly segment called Looking at the Movies, which passes along old movies for you to see--those which were shown on television in the early days of Detroit television history. In February 1948, the first full length feature appeared on television in Detroit, and the idea of "full length feature" is that which was defined at the time (and not my me today). Between June 1947 and February 1948, there were a number of movies shown in full on television--particularly WWJ-TV, Channel 4--for Detroit-area viewers. I present one of them here. On October 4, 1947, Channel 4 presented Death from a Distance (a 1935 movie) to Detroit-area viewers. In essence, the movie opens in a planetarium while a professor is giving a talk about the stars, and then a gunshot rings out, and it is then discovered someone has shot and killed Dr. Fred Stone, who is a member of the audience, and then Lt. Mallory takes up an investigation. The movie has such performers as Russell Hofton, Lola Lane, George Marion Sr., and Lee Kohlmer, none of whom is a household name today. The movie can be called a formulaic B-movie mystery, and it can be considered a low-budget movie, especially when compared with "full length features" ("A"-type movies) of 1935, which was very likely to have big-name actors and actresses. Death from a Distance was sort of full length (running about 70 minutes), like what was considered a "full length feature" of the 1930s, but the low-budget nature of the film led to it being defined in a lower level or lower class of movies.
By the way, in the next edition of Television History and Trivia through the Looking at the Movies feature, I will show what cowboy actor was the first to get highlighted in a number of movies shown to Detroit-area viewers, and it was not Gene Autry or Roy Rogers or Hopalong Cassidy or John Wayne (who did a lot of B-movies before becoming a world-famous actor in big-budget features).
Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often and usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
