When did the broadcast television networks take up supporting communism outright?  That question I will not answer here.  For now, I only want to report that ABC-TV, CBS-TV, and NBC-TV clearly do support communism outright today.  Look at CBS-TV, for instance.  On September 28, 2018, CBS-TV offered up the first episode of the new version of Murphy Brown, and the communist known as Hillary Clinton appeared [Note: She is married to former U.S. President Bill Clinton, a supporter of communism).  On Sunday, October 7, 2018, CBS-TV offered up the first episode of the new season of Madam Secretary, and the episode had as guests--Hillary Clinton (the communist), Retired U.S. General Colin Powell (a man who calls himself a "Republican" but is a supporter of communism and voted for Barack Hussen Obama to be the U.S. president), and Madeleine Albright (a supporter of communism).  I have made the case.

The previous paragraph shows some of the ugliness of television these days, but maybe the ugliest series on television is Will & Grace.  I saw the first episode of the new season for that series, which is pushed out by NBC-TV, and the regular performers looked ugly and angry.  There was nothing even close to nice and fun on the program.  But, unlike in the 1950s, there are enough freaks in the country today who will watch Will & Grace and keep in on the air.

In the past, I have talked about the communist and feminist known as Nancy Kaffer, who gets to be on television from time to time and who writes for the Detroit Free Press, and on October 11, 2018, her sick and rotten mind was shown off in another article of the Detroit Free Press (Kaffer, Nancy.  "Climate change matters in our local elections,"  Detroit Free Press, 11 October 2018, p. 13.).  Her article was one of many of very recent history noting that the United Nations (the communistic entity) pushed out another report about climate change, which once again noted that we only have about ten more years to save the planet.  I know the theme is a lie and bullshit, since for decades, communists, such as James Hansen, who has been associated with NASA, have been saying we only have ten years to save the planet.  When I saw Nancy Kaffer's line of crap, I went looking to find proof that, for decades, crap like hers has been pushed out by rotten people, and I found a YouTube video by Tony Heller (of realclimatescience.com) that gave a review of some of the predictions of the past related to manmade climate change (or whatever you wish to call it), and the video recalled such nonsense as James Hansen's 1988 statements to the federal government that "...Our climate model simulations for the late 1980s and the 1990s indicate a tendency for an increase of heatwave drought situations in the southeast and midwest United States...." and "...At the same time, heat would cause inland waters to evaporate more rapidly thus lowering the level of bodies of water such as the Great Lakes....".  Tony Heller's video [which shows the sources for the information in the video] showed thought by Noel Brown of the United Nations presented in the San Jose Mercury News of 1989--"..A senior environmental official at the United Nations, Noel Brown, says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth by rising sea levels if global warming is not reversed by the year 2000....".  The video recalled material written by George Monbiot in The Guardian for 2002, noting that "...Within as little as ten years the world will be faced with a choice: arble farming either continues to feed the world's animals or it continues to feed the world's people.  It cannot do both....".  In 2006, former US. President Al Gore's movie entitled An Inconvenient Truth was released, and it pushed the idea that humans only have ten years to save the planet (and the video would be discredited in many ways over the years to come).  And Tony Hellers' video showed a piece of material in The Argus-Press of 2008 showing off this statement by James Hansen--"...Hansen, echoing work by other scientists, said that in five to 10 years, the Arctic will be free of sea ice in the summer....".   The theme that man is killing the planet by using, for instance, fossil fuels is crap, and the crap has been pushed along for decades.  Now look at how Nancy Kaffer's article fits in in the pile of crap by seeing the opening portion--"Twelve years.  That's how long we have to limit the effects of climate change, concludes a new U.N. report produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a body stocked with Nobel Prize winners, including scientists from the U.S. and around the world.  Written to help world leaders reach sound policy decisions, the report doesn't soft-pedal its findings: Some pretty awful things will happen by 2040, much sooner than previously thought....".  Here is more crap pushed along by Nancy Kaffer in the article--"...And that means you should add Michigan's climate future to the factors you'll weigh in the Nov. 6 election: At the state level, Michigan needs a governor and attorney general committed to setting responsible enviromental standards, building buy-in, and defending those standards in court, if necessary.  At the local level, cities need mayors and council members who understand how local ordinances, zoning and public health initiatives can prioritize climate action and sustainability....".  The article was filled with nonsense and stuff put in to drive emotion, and the article had no backing facts.  For instance, Nancy Kaffer put this in the article--"...'Gasoline is the number-one contributor to climate change in the U.S.  It's no longer power generation, and that is a relatively recent phenomenon,' Clift [James Clift, policy director at the Michigan Evironmental Council] said....".   I state--There is no proof that the using of gasoline is causing "climate change."  I could spend a few hours showing up the illogical and unfounded text pushed out by Nancy Kaffer, but I believe I have made the point.  When you see Nancy Kaffer on television, realize you are seeing an evil and rotten woman, who is, in truth, working to enslave you to idiocy and the idiocy in her mind.
[Note: Nancy Kaffer mentioned the "Michigan Environmental Council," which is not a government entity--it is political pressure group with socialists and communists.  Also, Nancy Kaffer mentioned the group known as "Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice" in her article (which I did not show in the previous paragraph).  The name of the group should make you understand it is a rotten group.  "Environmental Justice"--that is crap pushed along by highly rotten people.  What do you think "environental justice" is?  You should think--Who is going to be taxed and probably taxed heavily to give to others (those so-called hurt by people hurting the planet)?.  Those who will be taxed will be those who will not follow and support the rotten ideas in the rotten minds.]

In the segment of this document focusing on Nancy Kaffer, you should have seen how the "ten-year" theme was used by people, and the "ten-year" deadline passed a number of times, and now "2040" is being pushed, as is "twelve years".  The crap just keeps getting extended into the future.  On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, PBS pushed out a show called Sinking Cities in prime time, and the program was loaded with crap, such as working to push the idea that the "Industrial Revolution" has led to the rise in sea levels, and the show pushed the idea that there is going to be a six-foot rise in sea level at New York City soon (a level based on predictions and guesses and no facts).  On Thursday, November 1, 2018, WTVS-HD, Channel 56.1, the PBS-affiliate television station in Detroit, pushed out a special called The Door Flint Opened: America's Drinking Water Crisis.  Stop!  Hold it!  In the past I have talked about the "Flint Water Crisis" in documents made for the Internet and have showed who really was to blame for the crisis, and you should see documents of mine to get a real understanding of what caused the crisis [Note: See Michigan Travel Tips #142 by hitting this Travel #142 link, Michigan Travel Tips #155 by hitting this Travel #155 link, and Michigan Travel Tips #160 by hitting this Travel #160 link at least.].  The special called The Door Flint Opened: America's Drinking Water Crisis worked to sell its nonsense by having Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha (the author of What the Eyes Don't See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance and Hope in an American City) and Anna Clark (the author of The Poisoned City: Flint's Water and The American Urban Tragedy) as so-called authorities, and it pushed out as good the "Society of Environmental Journalists."  I went to the website for the Society of Environmental Journalists (on November 1, 2018), and I found this statement--"The Society of Environmental Journalists (or SEJ) is the only North-American membership association of professional journalists dedicated to more and better coverage of environment-related issues.  SEJ's mission is to strengthen the quality, reach and viability of journalism across all media to advance public understanding of environmental issues.".  From that statement, a naive person would think that "SEJ" can be relied on to do proper journalism.  Also at the website for the SEJ, I found this statement (in the funding section of the webiste)--"These are important times for environmental journalism.  Washington has been taken over by an administration that works to reverse environmental regulations and has been openly hostile to journalists and journalism.".  The quoted statement in the previous sentence implies that U.S. President Donald Trump has been openly hostile journalists, and the quoted material can give the impression that U.S. President Donald Trump is hindering journalists from doing work, maybe by censoring.  I state--All that U.S. President Donald Trump has done is show up bad reporters (highly biased reporters), such as in speeches, by stating information that shows reporters have been doing bad work.  I also state--U.S. President Donald Trump has not been "hostile" to reporters in the sense that "hostile" truly means.  SEJ has discredited itself, and it should be seen by you as defective, as is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which was clearly tied to "Climategate," which is the scandal that involved faking world climate data for decades.  The SEJ is biased!  Oh, by the way, on the week of Monday, October 30, 2018, I caught a repeat showing of an episode of PBS NewsHour on the World channel (while I was in the Detroit area), and I joined the program while a discussion was going on with voters (five persons), one of whom was Sandy Rief (a man), and Sandy Rief pushed out the idea that, because of climate change, the State of Florida will soon be under water (and he pushed out the idea that U.S. President Donald Trump is pushing out "lie after lie after lie").  [Note: Even though a person writes a book, it does not mean the book is worthwhile and the person is worthwhile.]

There is something to remember from the advertisements for election periods in Michigan (and other places)--they can show you who your enemies are.  Socialists and communists are enemies of good people, since socialists and communists work to take complete control of societies, which leads to the death of the societies--because people cannot do things and think things that can keep a society alive.  By the way, the Detroit Free Press is a newspaper that supports communism and socialism, but from time to time, the newspaper slips up and shows off the rottenness of socialism and communism.  On Thursday, October 25, 2018, the newspaper had an article entitled "Angelina Jolie seeks support for Venezuelan refugees" ("Anglenia Jolie seeks support for Venezuelan refugees."  Detroit Free Press, 25 October 2018, p. 11D.), and the last line in the article was--"...More than 1.9 million people have left Venezuela since 2015 according to the United Nations and 400,000 have moved to Peru.".  Venezuela--whose government Barack Hussein Obama showed support for while he was the U.S. president--is a communistic country, and it has gone to crap over the last couple decades, and that is the way of communism and socialism.  In the United States of America, the politicians of the Democratic Party support the ways of socialism and communism, which involves corruption and lying and violence.  Debbie Stabenow is a "Democratic Party"-related politician based in Michigan--a U.S. Senator.  During the election of 2018, she pushed out advertisements on television.  One advertisement had people of the farming business in Michigan supporting her, and they were Jim May (a person who called himself a "Republican" and who was the Farm Bureau President in Kent County), Dennis Engelhard (a dry-bean farmer in Tuscola County), Julia Rothwell (an apple grower in West Michigan), and Kent Nobis (a dairy farmer in Clinton County).  People who support communists and socialists are enemies of good people.  [By the way, the commercial worked to push the idea that voting for Debbie Stabenow is not about Democrats or Republicans and was about the country, and I state--Such bullshit that was!]  You must remember Jim May, Dennis Engelhard, Julia Rothwell, and Kent Nobis are your enemies (even though the election is done).  In addition, Debbie Stabenow had an advertisment featuring military people, one of whom was a winner of the Medal of Honor.  Military-related people in the United States of America can be your enemies when they support communists and socialists--rotten people.  For instance, Colin Powell (a former U.S. general) was and is a supporter of Barack Hussein Obama, and that makes Colin Powell your enemy [Note: And yet he gets to appear on television shows supporting the country and the flag on PBS each year.].
By the way, Debbie Dingell is another Democratic Party politician based in Michigan, and she supports communism and socialism, and she is married to the communist known as John Dingell (who for some fifty years was a U.S. Representative related to Michigan).  On Thurdsay, October 25, 2018, Debbie Dingell appeared as a guest on the radio program called The Frank Beckmann Show of WJR-AM (around 10:45 a.m.).  Debbie Dingell passed along the crap that everyone deserves "respect and dignity."  That is bullshit!  Socialists and communists deserve no respect, because what they stand for and what they push on the lives of people is shit and leads to the death of people and societies.

Over the years, I have showed the rottenness of people who do shows on Channel 33 in Detroit, which is informally called WHPS-TV (it was WHPR-TV for years).  On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, I tuned into the station in the 9:00 o'clock hour in the morning (joining the program well in to it).  The host--a bald black racist--was talking with and guest, who turned out to be James Ford (who is tied to a website called "obamadayaugust4.com").  I know not the name of the host, though I tried to find the name of the person through an Internet search, but I knew not the correct spelling of his name, which is an African-type name.  Oh, the program was an edition of Get Up, Stand Up, which is headed by Malik Shabazz (a supporter of, for instance, the New Black Panthers, which is a rotten group of black thugs).  The two persons on the program pushed out the idea that people in Detroit have to get out and vote because "You're freedom may be a stake.".  On the show, James Ford was pushing to get more people to celebrate "Obama Day."  After the program was over, I went to the website known as "obamadayaugust4.com", and I found little there.  A headline noted--"Obama Day 2018 is presented by the Progressive Movement and its focus is on youth.".  That statement showed me that the day is being pushed as a celebration of communism--"progressivism" is another name for communism.  There was a quote by James Ford--"If only half of our youth had Barack Obama's dignity, integrity and character, this would be a better place to live.".  That is shit from a shit-head black mind.  Barack Hussein Obama is a shit-head man--a perpetual liar, a supporter of Sharia (Islamic law, involving, for instance, that shit-head idea of "Allah"), socialism, and communism, freaks, et cetera.  The website for The Hologlobe Press shows the rottenness that Barack Hussein Obama is, and if you see my documents that show quotes from Barack Hussein Obama, you will indeed see rottenness [Note: Click on Quotes and Quotes2 to see the crap that came out of Barack Hussein Obama's mind in the past.].  James Ford's website promoting the shit-head man known as Barack Hussein Obama also had this text--"Obama Day can be celebrated by all, because of the person he was - president of all the people, you can celebrate anywhere, any place.".  There was a link to a video, which was a collection of useless crap, and I watched it, and one theme pushed out by James Ford in the video was that Barack Hussein Obama was the best roll model for youth in fifty years.

I have to pass along something from the things-of-the-past video file, since I only learned about the something recently (in October 2018).  In the fall of of 2017, Dana Nessel made it known that she was running to be the next attorney general for the State of Michigan.  She is a member of the Democratic Party (which is a communist-type political party).  In a video, Dana Nessel passed along a thought that really shows she is a rotten woman and should never be elected to any political office in the United States of America--what Dan Nessel stands for leads to a rotten society.  In the video of the fall of 2017 (which I finally saw in October 2018), Dana Nessel said--"...If the last few weeks has taught us anything, it's that we need more women in positions of power, not less.  So when you're choosing Michigan's next attorney general, ask yourself this--Who can you trust most not to show you their penis in a professional setting?  Is it the candidate who doesn't have a penis?  I'd say so....".  The theme about "penis"--used to get people to vote--shows that Dana Nessel has a highly rotten mind.  For a person to even think about using a "penis" theme in a political advertisement shows that the person's thinking processes are defective.

The prime-time schedule for the broadcast networks this season is mostly depressing and ugly, and it is loaded with "feminist" crap, such as feminized men.  Some of the shows with mush-men as a rule are Grey's Anatomy (created by Shonda Rhimes), Madam Secretary (created by Barbara Hall), The Resident (created by Amy Holden Joners, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi), The Rookie (created by Alexi Hawley), and Station 19 (created by Stacy McKee).  I find All American (of Fox TV), Empire (of Fox TV), and Star (of Fox TV) to be ugly shows, filled with ugly culture and situations.  A few of the shows that are enough to make people gag--filled with socialistic crap and idiot women stuff--are A Million Little Things (of ABC-TV) and This is Us (of NBC-TV).  Charmed was put on television--in a new form--to push ethnics in prime time and not push entertainment, and two of the three main performers (girls) come off as unpleasant--Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery--and only Madeleine Mantock has some pleasantness on screen.  Of course, Wednesday is communist night--supporting Chicago through three television series with "Chicago" in the titles--on NBC-TV.  And The Neighborhood could be better by getting rid of the Max Greenfield and Beth Behrs and by focusing on the goofball stuff of the black father (Cedric the Entertainer) and his sons.

In the past, I have noted that it is easy to see idiot people and rotten people on national television in this day and date, especially on PBS-associated television stations, since such stations are often airing socialistic-based programming, and rotten people are men sometimes and women sometimes, and women can be worse than men because women are more emotionally based in thinking than men are.  For a bunch of years, Laura Theodore has been seen on PBS-based television stations in a program called Jazzy Vegetarian.  I often think vegetarians are at least stupid people, since they think humans should not eat meat--other animals--though it is the way of man and woman (who are animals).  Some vegetarians really go off into nutville, and, for instance, they believe the human population of the planet must be reduced greatly because the methane given off by humans is killing the planet, and some of them believe humans have to stop eating meat and have fewer animals as cows on the planet because the methane from the animals is killing the planet, and the killing-the-planet idea comes down to manmade-global warming stuff, which is all nonsense.  On November 2, 2018, I happened to catch a promotional announcement for Jazzy Vegetarian on the "Create" network (one subchannel network used by WCMU-TV) at about 8:30 p.m. (Michigan time), and the commercial showed off the idiocy and rottenness of Laura Theodore.  At one point in the promotional announcement, Laura Theodore noted that she does "Earth-friendly dishes".  "Earth-friendly dishes"--that is an idiot idea, and to me, it seems to be tied in with the idea that you have to stop eating meat (and start eating only plants) to save the planet.  It is bullshit, and Laura Theodore teaches rottenness--on television (at least).

On November 5, 2018, I jumped on to an edition of Amanpour & Co. (of PBS), which was airing an interview between Chistiane Amanpour and two guests--Gloria Steinem (the well-known super-hard-line feminist and communist) and Christine Lahti (an actress and hard-line feminist)--the latter of whom was involved with a production called Gloria: A Life.  I happened to catch the program when Christine Lahti pushed out the idea that wives in the United States of America have been and are second-class citizens.  Christine Lahti put down women who are wives and help raise children and who are highly important in raising children.

And on Wednesday, November 7, 2018--the day after Michigan voters had put a lot of female communists into public office, such as the governor's office, through the election process--I caught much of a press conference held by U.S. President Donald Trump.  It was an affair loaded with rotten reporters, once of whom was a black racist female working to push the idea that US. President Donald Trump is a "white nationalist" or a "white racist."  Abilio James Acosta--a slug working for CNN--was at the event, and he was highly rude and disruptive, and he would not sit down and give up the microphone when that was requested.  Fortunately U.S. President Donald Trump did not put up with the bullshit from Abilio James Acosta, and, for instance,  U.S. President Donald Trump, said--"...You are a rude, terrible person.  You shouldn't be working for CNN....".   Later in the day, I discovered CNN put out at least one article related to the press conference (Stelter, Brian.  "CNN calls Trump's press attacks 'un-American' after contentious news conference."  CNN.com, 7 November 2018, 5:33 p.m. ET.), and one piece of text in the article was--"..This President's ongoing attacks on the press have gone too far.  They are not only dangerous, they are disturbingly un-American.....".  I urge you to see a video presentation of the press conference, since it will show the rottenness of CNN and a bunch of so-called reporters, who were working to make a news event in which U.S. President Donald Trump could be made to look hostile to the press.  It was rottenness by the media!

Announcement: I have several new documents on the Internet--at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  One document is entitled "Indigenous Peoples Day"--It is Not Deserved and Should Not Exist.  It can be reached by using this Indigenous link.  Another document is entitled Black-Racist U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson (a Democrat related to Florida) Shits on a Killed U.S. Soldier--Army Sergeant La David Johnson (a Black Man), which can be reached through this Frederica Wilson.  In relation to Frederica Wilson, you should see the video on YouTube entitled "John Kelly's EMOTIONAL White House Press Briefing 10/22/2017", which was posted on October 19, 2017, and it runs 21 minutes.  Yet another document is entitled The United States of America is Not "Healthy" Anymore and Never Will Be Again--Stupid Americans by the Millions and Rotten Politicians Like Having the Federal Government in Charge of Health Care, When It Should Never Be, which can be reached through this Not Healthy link.  Also I put a document that is under construction (at the time this document was published on the Internet) at the website for The Hologlobe Press so that I could show the documents listed in the bibliography (and it has a tie-in with this document), and that document is informally called A Collage of Corrupt, which can be reached through this Collage link.

Let met jump in with something that was fun to see and remember.  On October 12, 2018, I watched an episode of Perry Mason at 11:30 p.m. on MeTV, and the episode was entitled "The Case of the Lazy Lover", which American television viewers first has seen on television on May 31, 1958, on CBS-TV.  At one point, early in the story, Yvonne Craig (the actress) showed up on screen, and I said to a person who was watching with me--"It's Batgirl.".  Yvonne Craig played "Batgirl" in Batman (the 1960s television series).  Not long thereafter, a man showed up on the screen in the Perry Mason episode, and that man (actor) was Neil Hamilton.  I said--"It's Commissioiner Gordon!".  Neil Hamilton played Commissioner Gordon on Batman.

In the previous edition of Television History and Trivia, I reported that I would cover in this edition of Television History and Trivia a local television special called 70 Years of 7, which was broadcast on Channel 7.1, WXYZ-TV, on October 9, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. and for thirty minutes.  Channel 7 pushed out the idea that the show was going to celebrate Channel 7--over the last seventy years.  By the way, on October 16, 1998, Channel 7 celebrated fifty years during an hour-long special entitled WXYZ-TV: 50 Years of Excellence 1948-1998, and I guess not much had happened with Channel 7 of real importance since 1998, given the 2018 special ran only 30 minutes.  The 2018 special was a rotten piece of television--it was a political piece and a piece that presented little about the history of Channel 7, and the real history section, which ran about five minutes or a little more, was a disjointed mess and filled with a lot of errors.  The so-called special was hosted by Dave LewAllen, Carolyn Clifford, and Glenda Lewis, and current on-air staffers who got air time were Alicia Smith, Keenan Smith, Ann Marie LaFlamme, Dave Rexroth, and Brad Galli, and some past members of the station who got to make comments were Robbie Timmons, Diana Lewis, Jerry Hodak, and Erik Smith, and the current head of the station--Mike Murri--appeared.   The cast members of this special on Channel 7 were made to look handsome or pretty or sexy, and the cast members--especially the hosts--gave their lines the big sell and tried to touch the emotions of the viewers while appearing authoratative, and yet most of the history about Channel 7 that was presented--and it was only a small portion of the show--was crap information.  One of the first pieces of crap was a line near the opening of the program that noted that the station signed on with a "vision to make a difference in our community."  I state that that idea probably never was in the minds of the people at the station in 1948.  The idea is a modern socialist's theme.  While Carolyn Clifford was doing some narration, WXYZ-TV gave the impression that it started something "brand new" in Detroit by starting up Channel 7 on October 9, 1948, though--I report--Channel 4, WWJ-TV, had already been doing commercial broadcasting since June 3, 1947.  The first five minutes or so of the special had some history of the television station; for example, it passed along a little about Pat Tobin and Johnny Slagle's talk show, saying it got started in the 1950s, but I report that it got started on December 12, 1949.  While the special program was talking about the 1950s--using the voice of Dave LewAllen--the program reported that Prize Movie or Rita Bell's Prize Movie got started in the 1950s, and but I note that that information is really wrong--the program showed up in the 1960s, after Rita Bell had already done such shows as Starlit Stairway and Amateurs on Parade.  The special talked about adding sports, such as Detroit Lions games, in the 1950s, but I have to report that Channel 7 first covered the Detroit Lions games live in the fall of 1948, even live from Chicago on November 7, 1948 [Note: The previous edition of Television History and Trivia was going to talk about the Chicago Cardinals/Detroit Lions game, till I pulled the information, already having a long document made.].  There was a slight mention of George Pierrot's World Adventure Series, and the special gave the impression that George Pierrot's series got start in the 1950s, though it got started in October 1948.  Gold Cup races--these were mentioned in the part about the 1950s, even though Channel 7 only broadcast Gold Cup races in July 1949 and July 1950.  The special noted that Edythe Fern Melrose had a show called House of Charm on WXYZ-TV.  That never happened.  Edythe Fern Melrose did have houses, each of which was called the "House of Charm," and the places were where Edythe Fern Melrose did television programs, such as cooking programs.  Some of the series that Edythe Fern Melrose had ties to were Charm Kitchen, Charm Time, and Charm Theater, and, by the way, in the 1960s, she hosted specials that were beauty pageants--near the end of the heyday of beauty pageants produced locally on television.  Jerry Hodak was given the job of saying that the new studios for Channel 7 built in 1959 were to allow the station to do more local programming, but I report that local program had already had a heyday and local programming on all the stations in the Detroit area was tapering off.  The special quickly jumped into the 1960s, and it talked about the Motown Sound, and when it did, it played a clip of The Temptations doing a 1970 song (Ball of Confusion, which--I say--was appropriate for the special), and then the special showed a 1960s clip of Stevie Wonder.  When the television audience was pushed into thinking about the 1960s, the show--Carolyn Clifford's narration--talked about Wixie's Wonderland showing up, but I have to report that Wixie's Wonderland ran for about four years, starting out on September 28, 1953, and there was a short period when it was off the air, but viewers complained and got the show back on for a short while.  While covering the 1960s, the special mentioned Auntie Dee, who was Dee Parker; Dee Parker appeared on a number of programs on Channel 7, such as Dee and Leonard, Rehearsal Call, Aunt Dee's Sunday Party, and The Auntie Dee Show, and she left Detroit in 1957 and went to California, and she never had a show on Channel 7 in the 1960s.  And while reporting on the 1960s, the special--Glenda Lewis doing the narration--talked about Soupy Sales having a prime-time show from Channel 7 on ABC-TV, but I report that Soupy Sales never had a show originated from Channel 7 on the prime-time schedule of ABC-TV, but from July 4,1955, to August 26, 1955, he had a weekday show on the network and Channel 7 at 6:00 p.m. (Detroit time).  About fifteen minutes of the program was devoted to talking about Detroit and not really Channel 7, covering, for instance, gas prices in the early 1970s, Coleman Young's election to the office of the mayor of Detroit, the day that the Hudson's building was taken down, the end of Tiger Stadium, the creation of Campus Martius Park, the appearance of Martin Luther King Jr. (doing a preview of his "I Got a Dream Speech"), the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, the 1968 Detroit Tigers World Series, the 1984 Detroit Tigers World Series, the appearance of Nelson Mandell, and the 1997 Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup.  The producers of the special actually felt it was good to play a 1980s Bill Bonds promotional announcement about the news department that had the theme about the last person to leave Detroit should turn out the lights, and, at one point and the promo, Bill Bonds says about Detroit--"...The lights didn't go out!...".  Of course, in essence, the city went on a decline from the day that the promo was aired till the city became the first major city to go bankrupt in the United States of America (a few years ago).  Erik Smith pushed out the idea that it was the 1967 riots in Detroit that really got the news department going in to the heyday, but I state that it was the 1962 Detroit newspaper strike and the 1967-1968 newspaper strike that really got people to watch television news (the latter strike ran for hundreds of days because The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press were out of production).  Near the end of the program, viewers were given such clichés and flap-doodle thoughts as our greatest asset is our people and our giving back to the community is important to us, and other thoughts were--we will listen to your concerns and we will do things to make Detroit a better place to work and we will tell the story that will help move our community forward.  I restate that the special was a rotten piece of television.  By the way, the heyday of long-form specials--those of at least 30-minutes long--began in the early 1960s and lasted to the 1990s, and 70 Years of 7 should not be thought of as a good highlight in the history of specials, the first batch of which were broadcast to Detroit-area viewers by WWJ-TV, Channel 4, before Channel 7 went on the air.
[Note: I did not see the show live on Channel 7, since I was not in Detroit.  I saw the show live through the Internet, and halfway into the show, the program feed stalled.  I had to jump out of the feed and jump back in.  And the show offered no "credits" at the open or the end, so I have no idea who wrote the special.  I do not know what person screwed up big time in writing the program.]
I have to go back in time to WXYZ: 50 Years of Excellence 1948-1998, which exists on YouTube today, and the special was a show written by Christopher Cook and Dave Manney, and Christopher Cook was credited as the researcher.  It seems to me that the production team for 70 Years of 7 used WXYZ: 50 Years of Excellence 1948-1998 as a source, even though the 1998 program is a little flawed.  The 1998 show pushed out the idea that Prize Movie was a 1950s show, and I have shown it was not.  The program hinted that, in the early days of the station, a program called Inside the Congo was aired for men, but I report that the show was a one-shot special that was shown on March 18, 1961.  The 1998 special stated that The Johnny Ginger Show was on for about ten years, but that is wrong; however, Johnny Ginger did do a number of shows for Channel 7 during his time at Channel 7, such as Curtan Time.  The 1998 show gave the impression that Soupy Sales went to Hollywood in 1955, but that is wrong [Note: The clips of Soupy Sales were from shows done when he was gone from Detroit, such as the clip of the super-cutie nude dancer, who was involved in the second event in which a nude dancer was exposed to the lucky Soupy Sales, the first time of which had taken place when he was in Detroit.].  And the 1998 special had stuff about House of Charm, a television show or television title that never existed.
In short, I can say that the researchers and writers of WXYZ: 50 Years of Excellence 1948-1998 and the researchers and writers of 70 Years of 7 did bad work, and that is especially true of the latter group.
By the way, the production team for WXYZ: 50 Years of Excellence 1948-1998 presented a page entitled "Advance Program Schedule WXYZ-TV  Opening Night Oct. 9, 1948", and viewers probably thought that that was the full broadcast schedule for the first day, but it was not--If the producton team would have done some real research in several editions of The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press of around October 9, 1948, the production team would have discovered what the first day was really like.
I have to talk about both specials together (the 1998 special and the 2018 special).  The specials covered events that happened in Detroit, which really have nothing to do with the history of Channel 7.  I report that, in essence, all the stations with newscasts during the times that the events related to Detroit took place covered such events, so the covering of the events by Channel 7 was no big thing and is nothing to be celebrated really (as if only Channel 7 covered the events), and, for instance, in the late 1960s, around the time the Detroit Tigers won the World Series, Channel 2, Channel 4, Channel 7, and Channel 50 had newscasts.
By the way, during the newspaper strike in Detroit for 1967 and 1968, Channel 56 (the public-broadcasting station) had a newscast--Television City Room--running six days a week (for much of the strike period) using people from, for instance, the Detroit Free Press, and that shows the newspaper strike really got people to watch news on television--it became a big habit [Note: Erik Smith's thoughts were defective.].
To me, Channel 7 is no great place for journalism and research, give it cannot even get television shows about its own history right.

On Thursday, October 25, 2017, the operators and newscasters at Channel 7.1 probably thought they were putting on a historic and important program at 7:30 p.m. on the day  (maybe something that could be noted in a 100-year anniversary television show).  The program was Detroit 20/20 Town Hall: Marijuana in Michigan, and it was hosted by Carolyn Clifford and was designed to present the pros and cons of legalizing marijuana for non-medical use or for recreational use.  The special did not note that "marijuana" has had the nickname of "dope" for over one-hundred years, and the nickname shows what marijuana does to people (especially in this day and age when maijuana is more potent than it was in, for instance, the 1960s, during the rise of the modern-day drug culture for the county).  The program was shot at Sam's Ferndale Grill (Ferndale, Michigan), which I could have easily walked to.  Incidentally, Ferndale is a "liberal" city--a socialistic city--as is Royal Oak, and the location was not even close to a neutral site for such a special.  In essence, the show only featured a few questions, the first of which was about "confication laws" in Michigan.  The first question was a useless question, and, really, the questions guided the show into mush talk as a rule, and upon returning from two commercial breaks, Carolyn Clifford did work to sell the idea--a dead-issue idea--that the show was having a "spirited conversation" about the topic of the moment.  For the most part, little was presented to convince a viewer to take up the "pro" side or the "con" side; on the "con" side were Scott Greenlee and Dr. Kala Mitchell, and on the "pro" side were Josh Hovey and Attorney Barton Morris.  Scott Greenlee did point out that, when there is more marijuana around, more people will be involved with it, and it was one of the very few commonsense thoughts presented.  And I say again--The special did not note that "marijuana" has had the nickname of "dope" for over one-hundred years for a reason.

Channel 7.1, WXYZ-HD, is an affiliate of the ABC-TV network, which includes ABC News, one program of which is This With with George Stephanopouolos, the host for which I have shown in the past to be a rotten man (a pusher of socialism and communism as good).  On October 28, 2018, I happened to tune into the program during a roundtable discussion, which involved, for instance, Mary Jordan (of The Washington Post), Matthew Dowd, and Donna Brazile (whom I have shown in the past to be a female black racist).  I heard a lot of crap during what little of the discussion that I caught, most of which pushed the idea that U.S. President Donald Trump is rotten, since he is involved in "fear mongering" and in being "combative" and the like.  Mary Jordan pushed out the idea that Democrats want a safe border.  History shows that Mary Jordan's thought is bullshit.  Matthew Dowd pushed out crap about "white supremicists" being the biggest problem in the country (being much more of a problem than the "caravan" could be), and he worked to give the impression that there is nothing to fear about with the "caravan" or the people in the "caravan"--those are the people heading or walking to the United States of America from shit-ass countries south of Mexico, where socialism and communism and thuggery and poverty are commonplace.  I state--It was during the days that Barack Hussein Obama--a truly evil man--was the U.S. president that Barack Hussein Obama was able to set up the habit of this country being invaded by thousands and thousands and thousands from places south of the United States of America on a yearly basis--through mass migration--and I state that that habit has to be stopped at all costs, even if the U.S. government must deter the "caravan" through tear gas and such.  Donna Brazile pushed out the crap that George Soros (whom I note is a billionaire and a big supporter of communistic entities and organizations in the country) cares for the country.  The part of the roundtable discussion that I caught--and it was all that I caught of This Week on Sunday, October 28, 2018--passed along a batch of lies, which is commonplace theme for the program.

While on the subject of lies, I have to talk about Barack Hussein Obama, the perpetual liar.  On October, 26, 2018, Barack Hussein Obama made speeches to support Democratic Party candidates, such as in Michigan.  On that day, Barack Hussein Obama passed along more shit from his mind through his speeches.  For instance, Barack Hussein Obama said--"...What we have not seen before in our public life is politicians just blatantly, repeatedly, baldly, shamelessly lying--just making stuff up....".  Again I pass along this information--Click on Quotes and Quotes2 to see the crap that came out of Barack Hussein Obama's mind in the past.

It is time to pass along some stuff related to Detroit television that I have been putting off talking about and that has showed up recently.  For one, Alexander Zonjic: From A to Z has been around on television in Detroit for a few years, and it is currently shown by WADL-TV, Channel 38.1, and, recently, the show was given a different air schedule. Alexander Zonjic: From A to Z, which is a Detroit-area-produced show, is airing on Channel 38.1 (broadcast) on Sundays at 10:00 p.m (for thirty minutes each time) and on Mondays at 1:30 a.m..  Here is a show that I have been putting off talking about for months, wishing to talk about more important matters.  On March 24, 2018, a locally produced show called 3D View began to run on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. on WADL-TV on a weekly basis.  The show is a talk-show featuring three young black gals--Michele Leno, Temeria Heard, and Katrina Frazier.  The show sometimes has interviews.  In essence, 3D View is a fluff piece.  By the way, Michele Leno is really Dr. Michele Leno, who operates an entity called DMI Psychological Services, PLLC, and I say that psychology as a field of study is a fluff thing and a pseuo-information thing (as I noted in relation to Christine Blasey Ford in the previous edition of Television History and Trivia).  Michele Leno, Temeria Heard, and Katrina Frazier come of a nice gals, but the gals come off as girls and not adult women, and the show is harmless.  Also, Channel 38.1 is carrying a weekly show called Detroit 360, a half-hour series with a history that goes back to October 2017.  The host is Sheila Grant, a graduate of Wayne State University.  The program is about "all things Detroit." Detroit 360 airs at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.  Based on seeing only a few episodes of the series, I report that Sheila Grant comes off as an adult woman and not a little girl.  There have been changes with the broadcast-channel universe in Detroit, too.  Channel 14.2 now is carrying "Get TV", and Retro TV is now on Channel 14.7 (it was on Channel 14.2).  And Channel 19.7 is now carrying the new news network called "CBN News Channel" (which is related to Christian Broadcasting Network history and was launched on October 1, 2018).  And I pass along this information about Channel. 14.6, which is related to WHNE-TV.  On Saturday, October 27, 2018, the programming on Channel 14.6 disappeared, so I contacted WHNE-TV, and it was reported to me that the computer used in putting out programs--such as public-domain movies--broke down, and that is why the channel went, in essence, dark on that Saturday.  By the way, Channel 14.6 is called "IND" (by the operators of WHNE-TV) and is informally known as "Classic Movies", and "IND" stands for "independent", and the channel is not a national network like Cozy or MeTV or Light.
[Note: This section does not take into account whether or not hosts are black socialists or black communinsts, but if I detect something rotten in the future, though I cannot use time to regularly see the programs, I shalll pass the information along.]

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in May 2017): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned).  I note that Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph.  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]

On October 1, 2018, I saw a news story on the Internet sort of entitled "Female reporters belittled by a combative Trump.".  Actually that title was only the kicker shown by Yahoo!.  The story was really (as I found out when I went to it by clinking a link) "Trump has sharp words for ABC's Vega, CNN's Collins" (Bauer, David. "Trump has sharp words for ABC's Vega, CNN's Collins." The Associated Press, 1 October 2018.), and it was about the press conference of October 1, 2018, in which female reporters--Cecilia Vega (of ABC News) and Kaitlin Collins (of CNN)--were disrepectful and rude and acted like piss-ass spoiled brats, who needed a spanking.  Yet the article worked to put Cecilia Vega and Kaitlin Collins in a good light and to make Donald Trump look like crap.  It was fake news from The Associated Press and Yahoo!.

Since the rise of the feminist movement--a portion of the communistic movement--in the 1960s, it has become hard for me to see a pleasant woman in the country; I can see anger in the faces of many women and unpleasantness.  Today, it would be hard for Channel Seven (WXYZ-TV) to find a gal to be "Sally Seven" or "Sunny Seven" for each month.  Who was or what was "Sally Seven" or "Sunny Seven"?  I shall tell you.  For about seven years, starting in 1961, a different young woman of the Detroit area was chosen to be the spokesperson on television and in public-service announcements on television for various non-profit entities of the Detroit area, such as the Girl Scouts, the Michigan Heart Association, and the Easter Seals.  The PSAs were produced at Channel 7, WXYZ-TV.  At first, the woman was called "Sally Seven," but for most of the campaign, the woman was "Sunny Seven."  Some of the women who were chosen were Sharjon Stoeckel, Kristin Engstrom, Pat Gainor, Ingrid Gaudette, Betty Richards, Marilyn Barnett, Kathy Wise, Judy Lamparter, Walyne Ragel, Pat O'Connor Jane Sass, Norma Larie, Marcye Dohany, Sue Yeager, Judy Downs, Doreen Jaros, Bev Wynn, and Jackie Piper.

This month, I have a special edition of Looking at the Movies, which normally covers movies shown on Detroit television between 1948 and 1954.  This time, I want to jump to1962 and present you with a pleasant movie with pleasant women.  The movie was showed for first time to Detroit-television viewers on Saturday, March 24, 1962, by WWJ-TV, Channel 4, at 9:00 p.m., and later, it would be shown at various times by Channel 4, Channel 9 (CKLW-TV), Channel 7 (WXYZ-TV), and Channel 50 (WKBD-TV)  [Note: The famous movie host known as Bill Kennedy featured the movie when he was at Channel 9 and when he was at Channel 50.]  The movie is No Highway in the Sky, which appeared in movie theaters in late 1951.  James Stewart plays a scientist who is predicting that a tail of an airplane will very likely fall off after a certain amount of time of use.  In the movie, two of the female performers are Marlene Dietrich and Glynis Johns.  Both Marlene Dietrich and Glynis Johns come off as pleasant.  To me, No Highway in the Sky is a true "date movie," unlike almost all the movies shown at movie theaters today (even A Star is Born).  Hey, guys, if you need a date movie, try No Highway in the Sky.  That is what I would show Ema Hayasaka if given the chance.

Here is a history note.  On Monday, October 11, 1965, Carla Rogers became the weathercaster for WJBK-TV, Channel 2, for the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts.  Carla Rogers was Miss Michigan for 1962-1963, and around December 1962, she was in training to be a Playboy Bunny at the Playboy Club in Detroit.  Carla Rogers was only a weathercaster for Channel 2 for a few months or so.

By the way, Ema Hayasaka is Japanese, and she appeared in sex movies years ago, and, boy, I say that she was nicely shaped.  On the other hand, "Fan BingBing" is Chinese, and she is a famous actress in China, the communistic country, which is ruled by shits.  On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, I happened to fire up the computer, and I was given a story about Fan Bingbing, which had something do with tax troubles for the actress (Chu, Henry.  "Fan Bingbing Apology: 'I Feel Ashamed and Guilty for What I Did.'."  Variety, 3 October 2018.)  The story had such pieces of text as--"...She credits China's ruling Communist Party and her fans for her success as an actress...." and "...Her punishment comes as the Chinese government steps up its campaign to ensure that all citzens toe the party line, which demands adherence to 'core socialist values' and frowns on ostentatious displays of wealth....".  I care not about a person's display of wealth, but the communists do, especially if the displayer gets more clout in society than the leaders.  I know not what tax rules Fan Bingbing violated (or what tax rules Fan Bingbing's handlers violated), but I expect the tax laws to be rotten in China.  I get angry when people are coerced into saying that the "party" is the reason for success and the "party" is to be praised [Note: While Barack Obama was the U.S. president, he pushed along that bullshit in public.].  Here are two parts of Fan Bingbing's apology, as put out in the article--"...Without the great policies of the [Communist] Party and the country, without the love of the people, there would be no Fan Bingbing...." and "...Again, I apology to society and my devoted fans, as well as to my friends and family who care about me.....".  I do not expect to see her on a television series aired in the U.S. anytime soon, but her entertainment story had to be passed along here, whether or not she did something that a good person would understand as wrong or bad.  You can put a person in jail for tax violations, but when you push a person into praising a "Communist Party" as punishment, you have a shit country.

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

Vic

P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link.  I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man."  For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President.  I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often and usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
