The majority of the people in the television news business in the United States of America must be hated, and that is because they are rotten people, and I can prove that, if I have to. I state that good people must teach children to hate the media as a rule. Over the last four decades, I have seen the television news business go from bad to horrid, since over those decades, hard-line communists and socialists have become the majority of the people in the business, even at local television stations, and it is commonplace, for instance, to find lying done in television newscasts and a lot of useless information in newscasts. When I watch Detroit-area television stations to see newscasts--so that, I can put in my history files about Detroit television the names of people who are on the air--I see a lot of useless news reports, which are often repeated over and over from newscast to newscast on a day or a two-day period. Hey, it seems even the behind-the-camera technical people have become dumber over the decades. On January 21, 2018, I saw a newscast on Channel 20.1, WMYD-HD, at 10:00 p.m., and I saw Alan Campbell and Breanne Palmerini doing the anchoring, and at one point, the names of the two actors--I mean, anchors--were put on the screen while they were both shown on camera. Both persons were listed as "Alan Campbell". Right then, I thought how on the previous day on a newscast, the two anchors were shown with the names reversed--he got hers, and she got his. On January 20, 2018, during the 7:00 p.m. newscast on Channel 7.1, WXYZ-HD, I got put aback at one point--it was when the newscast had a shot of Alan Campbell standing really, really close to Breanne Palmerini and behind her, maybe touching her (with his body). In this day and age of endless sexual-harassment allegations, the image looked icky. Channel 20.1 and Channel 7.1 are owned by the same entity. This edition of Television History and Trivia shows up only some of the crap from the television news media of recent days, and the edition has other stuff, such as a segment that shows up more of the crap in From Soupy to Nuts! A History of Detroit Television (a book about Detroit television history).
I begin this edition with fact and commentary that could have been put in the previous edition of Television History and Trivia, but on the day that the topics for this paragraph came to me, I had to take a long-distance drive in Michigan, and I might have been a bit hard pressed to it to put the material into a paragraph for the previous edition. There are two topics, the first of which came to me right before I was about to take off for the road and the latter of which came to me after I had reached my destination. At 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2018, I saw a repeat episode of The Open Mind on the World Channel (offered through Channel 56.4 (broadcast) in Detroit (the show had been recorded on December 5, 2017)). The host was Alexander Heffner, and there was one guest when I tuned in--Jess Phoenix (a woman and a "Democrat"), who is running for the U.S. Congress (in relation to the 25th District in California). [Note: Remember--In this day and age, "Democrat" means "communist" or "socialist.] I quickly understood by seeing and listening to Jess Phoenix (who has also been known as Jess Pelaez) that Jess Phoenix is an idiot woman and a bad person to have in a government position of any kind--she is not a commonsense thinker. Jess Phoenix is the co-founder of an communistic environmental entity known as "Blueprint Earth" and is being inspired to run for a seat in the U.S. Congress by the "314 Action" initiative (which I have talked about in the past). An Internet site for Jess Phoenix notes--"Jess is a geologist who studies volcanoes, which makes her a unique candidate for congress. In these unusual times, we need new kinds of leaders to solve America's problems.". I report that a person's being a geologist does not denote the person is logical thinker or a good candidate for a political job Ask yourself--What does "unique candidate" mean? I state--The meaning is undefined and useless. A mission statement for "Blueprint Earth" notes, for one--"Our mission is to preserve earth's environment through scientific research and education....".. What the hell does that mission statement mean? I say that it is useless fluff. What the hell--what exactly--is the right thing to preserve? The Earth has been changing and going on for centuries and centuries, and it has been around from countless years--it is doing fine. Let me get back to the interview. Jess Phoenix ran off endless "buzz" words and "psycho babble". For instance, she mentioned the idiotic themes known as "climate migrants" and "food security" in relation to so-called climate change that man is causing to kill the planet. Jess Phoenix noted that "climate change" is the "greatest national security threat" there is. That is bullshit! During the interview, Jess Phoenix pushed forth the idea that she is a geologist, and because she is, her skill of using research and thinking about geology can be adapted for other types of topics, such as politics. I disagree with that idea for a number of reasons--for one, often people who are specialists in a certain field are not general-knowledge people and can do defective thinking in other fields because they have done so much in only one field (and have no real ties to other fields). [By the way, I have shown in the past how Stephen Hawking is an idiot man once he moves on to fields not main to him, such as predicting climate matters.] Oh, during the interview, the host--Alexander Heffner--mentioned, for one, he had at least once interviewed James Hansen, and Alexander Heffner showed to the television audience that he was so happy to have had James Hansen in an interviewee, and Alexander Heffner showed praise for James Hansen. I note--James Hansen is only one of the rotten so-called scientists who for years has pushed out false world climate data--the man is defective and was one of the men at the heart of "Climategate." During the interview, Jess Phoenix pushed out the idea--without showing facts--that the water level for the Philippines is going to rise by two feet by the end of the century. Of course, there is no way to prove that guess. The idea about the Philippines is based on climate predictions and climate models, which have been corrupted by false climate data tied to "Climategate," and, anyway, weather forecasters have a hard time predicting weather even a few days in the future properly and correctly, and there are too, too many unknown variables to ever predict weather for a century away. By the way, even if the water does rise two feet for the Philippines, how can it be proven man caused the rise? As I expected, the two persons got on the subject of "climate deniers" and people not believing facts or scientists, and the two persons got on the subject of "science communicators." I say--Their idea of "science communicators," such as Neil deGrasse Tyson, is about people working to get the lie about climate change leading to the death of the planet because of man out a truth out to the world. [Note: In the past, I have shown Neil deGrasse Tyson passes along crap.] Oh, by the way, the two persons in the interview pushed out the idea that they like public-funded elections, and I say that public-funded elections in a country leads to crap, and that is all that I will say about that subject here, since I have something more important to show. I found a "vimeo" video on the Internet ("Blueprint Earth -- Our Mission"), in which, for one, Jess Phoenix and an associate talk about what "Blueprint Earth" is, and one idea for "Blueprint Earth" is "for space" (in essence, to help in space exploration of other planets). I state--What crap that is. I discovered "Blueprint Earth" wants to create a completely fully functional real living desert--a model of sorts--in a warehouse so that more can be learned about climate and such. When I think about the "space" idea and "warehouse" idea, I understand Jess Phoenix is an idiot woman. For instance, there is no way a person can create a desert in a warehouse-designed probably to come up with climate-related data to push the manmade climate change theme--that would be useful or reliable or worthy. A desert is complex and big, and what is it is related to the sun, the moon, the jet stream, mountains, animal life, rivers, the core of the planet, unknown factors.... I wonder how many idiots will provide money to, for instance, Jess Phoenix so that she can play around in a warehouse--like little girl in a sand box. By the way, Jess Phoenix says that she specializes on volcanoes. Hold it! I have to mention something about the vimeo video. Jess Phoenix wore a shirt in the video, and on the front of the shirt was "Healthy Souls" [Note: In essence, the words were right across her big chest--yes, she has big breasts it seems]. The warehouse thing would be a neat scam A person lacks commonsense if the person thinks the "warehouse" idea is a good idea (unless Jess Phoenix really is using the idea as a scam, which is designed to give her sort of a job for life that she can do, instead of doing so many other things, such as job in which she might makes things or help make things). The videos that I saw of Jess Phoenix gave me the impression she is just a little girl who plays with rocks and has never really done anything--just another spoiled girl who was rarely told "no". Also the "vimeo" video came off as two high-school students making a kiddie presentation to a group of classmates--it was childish. Of course, the research that I did on Jess Phoenix was done after I had finished my long-distance trip in Michigan. At 11:00 p.m. on January 8, 2018, I caught an episode of Amanpour on PBS on WCMU-TV [Amanpour on PBS was one of the topics in the previous edition of Television History and Trivia], and on the show as a guest was Barry Diller (a big-name in entertainment and media), and I got exposed to a bunch of crap from him. Barry Diller said for one (in relation to U.S. President Donald Trump) the current administration is a "lunatic administration" [Note: Barry Diller supports socialists and communists, and that is a fact], and his statement was not based on any facts. And Barry Diller noted that--in relation to the Donald Trump administration--"The dumb standard has change, given the administration.". When I heard Barry Diller's comments, I thought about Jess Phoenix's idiotic thoughts and childish thoughts--thoughts that can be proven to be idiotic. Barry Diller passed along crap, and that shows he is a rotten man, and Jess Phoenix passed along a different kind of crap--dumb ideas and fluff.
It is easy to find idiot people and rotten people on television. [Note: The Open Mind program is fake, not really promoting useful thought.]
Hey, let me break in with an aside here. Go to YouTube, and call up the video entitled "George Carlin on Global Warming" (which was posted on December 26, 2008). In the video, George Carlin (a famous American comedian, who died some time ago) uses foul language or swear language. The video is one time when George Carlin shows up the idiocy of manmade global warming leading to the death of the planet through logic. George Carlin rightly put downs all the rotten people pushing "save the whales" and "save the planet" and "save" the whatever.
Oh, on Amanpour on PBS for January 10, 2018, Christiana Amanpour had Tom Hanks (an actor) and Meryl Streep (an actress) as guests, and, for one, the guests were promoting their new movie (The Post). I watched the last half or so of the episode, and I noticed how Meryl Streep often had "stall moments" while speaking--she seemed to struggle to come up with thought or finish a thought. Most of what was said by Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks was useless stuff, which is not surprising since both persons are nothing more than actors. At one point, the topic of censoring journalists or attacks on journalists came up, and the group implied that U.S. President Donald Trump was working to censor journalists. Their idea was high nonsense. U.S. President Donald Trump has simply been doing a bit of work--such as through Tweeting--to show up the rottenness in the American media, which I can attest does exist. Look at how the media has pushed the false story for a year or so about how the Russians helping Donald Trump become the U.S. president by doing something that corrupted the election. The edition of Amanpour on PBS was more crap from socialists and communists.
Remember--It was during the years of Barack Obama (a supporter of communism, socialism, and Sharia) as the U.S. president that members of the main press, such as the managers of The Associated Press, discovered the Barack Obama administration was, in essence, secretly spying on them.
By the way, Dean Baquet--the executive director for The New York Times--was on Amanpour on PBS on Friday, January 12, 2018, and he passed along the idiocy that attacks on the press are not deserved.
While I am on the subject of communists and socialists--"liberals"--let me pass along some information about "liberals" involved in censoring and other rotten stuff. For Looking at the Movies this time, I have chosen to look at Channel 9, CKLW-TV. From January 1955 to October 1955, Channel 9 aired Wednesday Matinee on Wednesday afternoons, either at 3:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. On October 5, 1955, the movie scheduled was The Dalton's Women (from 1950). The main performer was Jacqueline Fontaine, who, in film promos for movie theaters, had been given an introducing credit. Hey, guys, it is a movie with dancing girls. By the way, the movie was also scheduled to air on Channel 9 on Saturday, December 24, 1955, at 2:00 p.m. under Saturday Matinee. Pamela Blake was in the movie. And that is the film for Looking at the Movies. Hunt it down and take a look.
Announcement for the novice again (reworked in May 2017): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned). I note that Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph. If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you. [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, U.S. Senator John McCain, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
Over the years, I have pointed out--a number of times--problems with the television history book called From Soupy to Nuts! A History of Detroit Television, which was written by the very bad journalist based in the Detroit area known as Tim Kiska. I have another piece of crap to report about the book here. On page 82 of the book, one of the main topics is a Detroit-area television show called Club Polka, and the opening two sentences of the section about the show are--"The beauty of local Detroit television during the early days was its tantalizing variety. The proof: Detroit had its own polka show on the air during the late 1940s and early 1950s....". That is wrong information. Club Polka showed up on April 10, 1952, as a weekly series that started out airing at 9:00 p.m. on WXYZ-TV, Channel 7 (it had various time periods). The program existed till 1955. The section of the book about Club Polka only has seven more lines of text--fluff stuff, which does not really cover the series much. The series may have had "polka" as a theme, but people not associate with polka showed upon the series, and they were either people of the Detroit area or people from other places, such as nationally known singers and comics. Here is a look only a few of the people who appeared on the series--Jimmy Durante, The Gaylords, Betty Norman, Little Jack Little, The Day Dreamers, Bill Darnell, Toby David, Stan Nelson, The Four Freshmen, The Beachcombers, Mel Torme, Leonard Stanley, Buddy Greco, Patsy Abbott, Patty Andrews, The Crew Cuts, Gloria Marlowe, and Ivy Carey.
In T.H.A.T. #164, I talked about how the federal government of the United States of America was working to repair the electricity system on Puerto Rico, showing the federal government was actually working to fix the island stuff, despite what communists and socialists--the members of the Democratic Party--were saying. Here is something that your favorite television newscaster probably did not pass along to you; for instance, I bet such people at Huel Perkins, Monica Gayle, Stephen Clark, Carolyn Clifford, Devon Scillian, and Kimberly Gill did not tell you this information--and it is real news. In January 2018, the federal government of the United States of America made a raid on a warehouse in Palo Seco, Puerto Rico, where the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority was, in essence, hiding repair materials for the electricity system on the island that had been brought to the island from the United States of America--it looks as if the known-corrupt Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority was working to slow down repairs and make it seem the Donald Trump administration was holding back work on the electricity system on the island. After the raid had taken place, some Puerto Ricians (such as in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) protested against the government in Puerto Rico, having learned of the hiding of materials, leading to repair crews having no supplies to work with, sometimes for several weeks ["Puerto Rico Protests After Supplies Found in Gov't Warehouse." telesurtv.net, 11 January 2018.; Aronof, Kate. "Armed Federal Agents Enter Warehouse in Puerto Rico to Seize Hoarded Electric Equipment." theintercept.com, 10 January 2018, 11:38 a.m.].
I say again--It is easy to find rotten people on television. A good place to find bad people is on CNN (the so-called news network). CNN is a communistic-based or socialistic-based news entity. By the way, communism and socialism at very bad government forms, in which--in the case of communism--the government owns everything (even the people and their children) and politicians are all-powerful, and the media is, in essence, the government, and also fascism is another very bad government form, in which the government may not own businesses but the government, in essence, controls them because the government has so many laws imposed on businesses, noting what businesses can and cannot do and make, and, in essence, Germany was a fascist entity during the years of Adolph Hitler (the 1930s-1940s period). On January 29, 2018, Don Lemon (a black communist) hosted a round-table discussion on CNN at one point during the day, and one of the guests was a truly rotten black man known as U.S. Representative James Clyburn (a "Democrat" who is related to North Carolina). On the program, James Clyburn noted that he has studied and taught history, and given what else James Clyburn said on the program, it can be said that James Clyburn really has been a failure in teaching history and knowing history. For example, James Clyburn said on the program segment--"I can only equate one period of time with what we're experiencing now, and that was what was going on in Germany around 1934, right after the 1932 elections when Adolph Hitler was elected chancellor. Ah, he began things to discredit the media, and, to disrupt the judicial system, and if you recall from your studies, they had swastikas hung in churches all over Germany....". A good person is well aware U.S. President Donald Trump--unlike U.S. President Barack Obama--has reduced restrictive laws on businesses, which is not what "fascists" and communists and socialists do, and U.S. President Donald Trump--unlike U.S. President Barack Obama--has not done, for example, spying on news organizations [Note: Proof exists that shows Barack Obama did spying on news entities in the United States of America when Barack Obama was the U.S. president.]. James Clyburn's equating Donald Trump with Adolph Hitler (a killer of millions) shows the ends to which James Clyburn will go to pass along crap, and James Clyburn's equating Donald Trump with Adolph Hitler shows that James Clyburn is a piece of shit of a man, who happens to be a black man.
On February 5, 2017, C-SPAN-2 broadcast an event at Georgetown University, and the event was a "Women, Peace and Security" forum. Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (a "Democrat") was at the event, and she spoke, and she said a number of idiotic things. For one, Hillary Clinton--following up on a question asked her about the so-called climate change caused by man leading to the death of the planet--said--"...They [Women] will bear the brunt of looking for the food, looking for the firewood, ah, looking for, ah, the place to migrate to when all of the grass is finally gone, as the, ah, desertification moves south and you have to keep moving your livestock or your crops are no longer, ah, growing, they're burning up in the intense heat that we're seeing reported, ah, across, ah, North Africa into the Middle East and into India. So, yes, women once again will be the primary, ah, primarily burdened with the problems of climate changed....". I say that Hillary Clinton's theme is high-level idiocy; for one, it pushes out the idea that men would do nothing or do nothing, hinting that men have done nothing over the centuries and centuries and centuries and centuries to keep villages or town or cities alive or keep families alive. What Hillary Clinton was teaching was rottenness, and it seems she was mostly working to teach the idiocy to women, and it was seen on television.
Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.Stay well!

Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often and usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
