Announcement

Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952, which is a federal law created by a U.S. Congress and a U.S. president, states--"...Whenever the President finds that entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate....".  On Friday, January 27, 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump, based on federal law, issued an order to temporarily--temporarily--blocked persons from seven countries of the world, one of which was Iran, a country the funds violent terrorism, from entering the the United States of America, and the period of time was set at four months.  A good person understands that the order issued by U.S. President Donald Trump was legal and right.  On Friday, February 3, 2017, U.S. District Judge James Robart (of a U.S. District Court) issued an order that U.S. President Donald Trump's order could not be followed, such as by immigration officers.  What the judge did was making a ruling that he had no legal right to do, given the wording existing in the "Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952.  Then, even though what the judge had done was wrong and has no basis in real law, the Donald Trump administration went to the 9th U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit (related to the U.S. District Court in which Judge James Robart exits) to get the judge's ruling shut down, and on Thursday, February 9, 2017, the U.S. Court of Appeals--particularly a three-judge panel for the court--ruled that it would not strike down or throw out U.S. District Judge James Robert's ruling, letting the ruling stand.  In essence, the three-judge panel noted that, for instance, aliens or non-citizens have the same rights as real citizens of the United States of America.  That is nonsense and idiocy.  By the way, the U.S. Court of Appeals also noted that the Executive Order made by U.S. President Donald Trump was racist (in a way) against Muslims, even though the Executive Order made no mention of "Muslims" and did not block Muslims from dozens of countries from all over the world from coming to the United States of America.  The entire event shows off only a little of the rottenness of the court system in the United States of America and people tied to the Democratic Party in the United States of America (a communistic-type political party), and it shows that the country is ending up with a precedence in which the courts will be able to make law about immigration (and other matters) and not a U.S. Congress and a U.S. president, and that is bad--very bad for good people in the United States of America.  Do you see how--now--a U.S. president, especially U.S. President Donald Trump, has been stopped from taking action to block bad people--non-citizens of the United States of America--from entering the United States of America?  Only a shit country has such idiocy, in which anyone can enter the country freely!  Then, on March 6, 2017, Donald Trump issued another legal Executive Order (having the legal right to do so) related in travel into the United States of America--it was another temporary ban on allowing people from only a few countries of the world in to the United States of America.  On March 15, 2017, a U.S. District Court Judge named Derek Watson issued an order designed to block the recent "Executive Order" from going into effect, and a big reason for blocking the Executive Order was that Derek Watson felt the Executive Order was a discriminatory based on what Donald Trump had supposedly meant in words spoken during the election campaign of 2016 and not on what the Executive Order said in words, and I report that Derek Watson showed off his rottenness as a person through the order given, and a few hours later, yet another judge U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang) showed off his rottenness by issuing another order designed to help block the "Executive Order" from taking place.  The two judges are shit-head people and are enemies of good people--non-communists and non-socialists and non-Shariaists.  More idiocy related to the court system of the country showed up on May 25, 2017.  On that day, Americans learned of a ruling related to the so-called "ban" by the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and the ruling upheld two lower court rulings--it was ten judges (all of whom had been appointed by Democratic Party related presidential administrations) against three (all of whom had been appointed by Republican Party related presidential administrations).  Here is only a bit on the nonsense from the court--especially the group of ten judges--"...The evidence in the record, viewed from the standpoint of a reasonable observer, creates a compelling case that (the executive order's) primary purpose is religious...." and "...Then-candidate Trump's campaign statements reveal that on numerous occasions, he expressed anti-muslim sentiment, as well as his intent, if elected, to ban muslims from the United States....".  The rottenness of the ten persons is out of this world.  The court is made up events and is made up of liars--Donald Trump never said he was banning all Muslims, and that is public knowledge, and Donald Trump did not show "anti-muslim sentiment".  The court made its decision based statements not related to the "Executive Order"; the court made a decision based on its feelings.  There is nothing good about the ten judges!  Each of the ten is hardly a person who could be defined as a "reasonable observer"--there was no "reasoning" based on fact in any mind of the ten.  On June 1, 2017, the Donald Trump administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court to issue a stay (as soon as possible) on the recent lower-court action related to his travel-restriction Executive Order, and the administration asked for a full hearing on the matter.  More rottenness showed up on June 12, 2017, from a court when it was made public the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals (which is based in San Francisco, California, and which has been known for being a rotten unit of the federal court system) added more idiotic weight against the Executive Order about the temporary ban, and one statement of idiocy and rottenness from the court was--"...In short, the order does not provide a rationale explaining why permitting entry of nationals from the six designated countries under current protocols would be detrimental to the interests of the United States....".  On June 26, 2017, the U.S. Supreme Court sort of reinstated Donald Trump's idea of a temporary ban (through Executive Order)--there were conditions noted by the U.S. Supreme Court, such as noting a person (from one of the six countries related to the temporary-ban order) could be blocked from entering the U.S. only if the person did not have "credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States....".  It was reported by the U.S. Supreme Court on June 26, 2017, that a full hearing on the Executive Order would begin in October 2017.

Hate the courts and teach hate of the courts to children--the courts are the enemy of good people!

- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 161 - - -

On Monday, August 21, 2017, I did spend time watching the solar eclipse.  I was in an area in in which the eclipse was only at about 80 percent.  Because of that, I also watched the television coverage offered by ABC-TV, CBS-TV, and NBC-TV.  The coverage by the three networks was not good.  For instance, in the afternoon live coverage, the networks often jumped to a split-screen format or multi-screen formats for much of the time when the total-eclipse was taking place at the cities used for coverage.  I have a big-screen television.  I wanted to see the screen filled with the image of the total eclipse--for more than a few seconds.  What I often got during the actual total eclipse is four images (in blocks), one of which showed usually the idiot reporter making nonsense statements, such as about it being dark.  The biggest idiot of the day was probably Al Roker of NBC-TV.  He was in North Carolina.  Two statements--questions--presented by Al Roker showed the idiocy that flows through his thoughts.  He asked people these ideas in relation to the eclipse--Do you feel a "sense of community?" and "How do you feel as a human?".  In addition, a lot of emotional themes--bullshit themes--from the reporters were pushed out during the coverage.  Often, the reporters rambled on with the fluff.  Before the eclipse took place, I saw idiocy published in the Detroit Free Press, a newspaper that I have talked about in the past, since some of the reporters on the newspaper regularly show up on Detroit-area television shows, particularly political-based talk shows.  On August 19, 2017, the newspaper published in paper form an article entitled "Are America's troubles about to be eclipsed?" [Shamus, Kristen Jordan.  "Are America's troubles about to be eclipsed?." Detroit Free Press, 19 August 2017, pp. 1A and 7A.) [Note: The article--entitled "Eclipse could seriously impact Trump, the nation, astrologers warn"--had appeared at the website for the newspaper on the previous day.].  The article had information--and I use the term "information" very loosely--from a number of astrologers, such as Rebecca Gordon and Shelley Ackerman, and the article worked to say that, after solar eclipses have taken place, big events have happened, or the article worked to say that solar eclipses have led to big events.  That is all bullshit!  For example, the article had this set of words at the beginning--"Donald Trump's future, astrologers say, is written in the stars, and they're predicting Monday's total eclipse will have serious consequences for the 45th president and for the country....".  Later the article had--"...The last time there was this kind of total solar eclipse, then-President Bill Clinton testified before a grand jury investigating his conduct and allegations of an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.  It led to his impeachment in the U.S. House in December of that year.  But early in 1999, the Senate did not get the votes needed to impeach....".  Some thought presented from Rebecca Gordon was---"...'For Trump,' Gordon said, 'this eclipse falls on his Mars, the planet which rules expressions of anger and power.  Hense, we see the demeanor he has when speaking about North Korea and the sense of animosity and terror and rage." and "If he continues to express himself in such an explosive and volatile way and with such revenge in mind regarding North Korea as well, that would be equivalent to not changing and continuing on the path he's on. ... I would advise against that, I would advise him to change course....'".  And the article also had this related to Rebecca Gordon---"Gordon predicted that hidden information, possibly tied to the Russia investigation, will be revealed near Jan. 31, as well as around Feb. 15 when the next set of eclipses show up.  These two also mirror the eclipses that occurred when Clniton was acquitted.  The article had--"...Shelley Ackerman, a New York-based astrologer, says this eclipse cycle harkens back to the total solar eclipse of February 1979.  Shortly before, the Ayatollah Khomeini seized power in Iran.  A few weeks later, the Three Mile Island nuclear disaster occurred in Pennsylvania.....".  The article worked to tie events on days way before or way after eclipses to the actions of solar eclipses.  Such bullshit the article was.  I could take any eclipse event and I find big good or big bad things that took place around the time.  The logic of the article was nonsense.  In essence, the article wasted nearly an entire page of paper.  The article closed with--"...Gordon predicted that hidden information, possibly tied to the Russia investigation, will be revealed Jan. 31, as well as two weeks later, Feb. 15.  'An eclipse happens, and the truth comes home and we can't get always [away] with it anymore,' she says.  They keep us in check.  This eclipse family has everything to do with abuses of power and especially within presidents and royal families.'".  The astrologers had the same type of idiot thinking as Al Roker, who wanted to know, for instance, if the solar eclipse was creating a sense of community.  By the way, when I hear a person talking about "sense of community", I think of communists, who work to bring everyone together in a "commune" like state.

Since I published the previous edition of Television History and Trivia, a friend of mine gave me a snippet from a crossword page of the Detroit Free Press, which was published on July 25, 2017 (the page number was not given to me).  The snipped was called "TRIVIA BITS".  Here is what the article had--"One of the earliest televised weather broadcasts in the United States came from a small studio at Penn State University in 1957.  Meteorology professor Charles Hosler used chalk on a blackboard to illustrate weather patterns for TV audiences.  By 1965, Penn State had its own PBS station (now called WPSU).  Sixty years after it started in a basement studio on campus, "Weather World" is still part of the station's programming lineup.".   I will say that the snippet is bad information.  The snippet hints the weathercast was one of the earliest.  I dispute that, given the year pushed was 1957.  For instance, in the spring of 1950, Professor Everett Phelps (of Wayne University) was providing regular weathercast on WXYZ-TV in Detroit, and then he went to doing weather forecasts on WJBK-TV in Detroit, and Everett Phelps was the "TV Weatherman" for WJBK-TV for several years, and before 1957 showed up, Detroit television stations had had other weathercasters--for example, there had already been "Miss Fairweather" on WJBK-TV [Note: In the late 1950s and early 1960s, there were at least nine women who worked under the "Miss Fairweather" title for WJBK-TV, one of whom was Marilyn Turner] and It's the Weather with Jerry Sevick (which was on Channel 7 starting in 1953).  Notice I have only talked a bit about Detroit television history, and I have not even talked about the well--known Sonny Eliot in Detroit, and I have not talked about newscasters given weather reports before true weathercasters were on staffs of television stations in Detroit.  Also, I have not--being unable--talked about the history of weathercasters in other cities in the country, especially the big cities, such as New York, Cleveland, Chicago, and Los Angeles.  I do not think Charles Hosler can be put in the category of one of the earliest television weathercasters.  Keep in mind--commercial television began in 1940, which is seventeen years before Chalres Hosler would show up on television.

On Thursday, August 24, 2017, I watched one of the new episodes of Weekend Update Summer Edition.  Remember--The makers of a comedy show can be so intent on pushing a political message, such as communism, that the makers forget to make the show funny.  The episode of August 24, 2017, was not funny in the least!  It was basically a hit piece on Donald Trump with a few filler bits--Alec Baldwin (the pusher of communism) played Donald Trump in a long skit at the beginning of the episode.  One of the filler bits had a person called "Cathy Anne" (who was like a "druggy") spouting off nonsense.  The show was smutty and crud.  I actually thought I heard the show bring up the topic of "glory hole."  As usually, Lorne Michaels is the driving force--as executive producer"--of the show tied to Saturday Night Live. Weekend Update Summer Edition is nothing more than shit, produced by shitty people!

On Sunday, August 27, 2017, I watched Sunday Night Football on NBC-TV.  At one point, the network ran a promotional announcement for the return of a series called Will & Grace.  The promotional announcement had a scene in which two of the main performers of the series were being their characters on an airplane.  One of the characters (Grace, as played by Debra Messing) interrupts the other (Karen, as played by Megan Mullally) who is listening to headphones and sort of dancing in her seat.  Grace asks Karen--"What are you listening to?".  Karen answers--"Fox News."  So, the promotional announcement--putting down Fox News, which is not a communistic entity, as are MSNBC and NBC News--was used to show the new Will & Grace is going to push more politics over entertainment, especially working to put down stuff that is anti-communist and anti-socialist.  I guess it can be said that Will & Grace will focus a lot on gay communists and lesbian communists--setting a new standard in rotten.

It is easy to find rotten people on television in this day and age--The Pseudo Information Age and the Age of Ignorance--and I have some examples.  On August 23, 2017, very early in the morning, I joined Charlie Rose in progress (tuning in to a PSB-associated station), and Bill Gates (the very rich man) was flapping his gums.  Bill Gates may know things about computers, such as programming language, but, in essence, Bill Gates is an idiot man.  The program was a repeat, having originally run on January 27, 2017.  Bill Gates pushed out the crap that the United States of America has rotten health-care access.  I say that is bullshit from Bill Gates.  And Bill Gates pushed out the crap about global warming.  I say that Bill Gates really came off as an idiot.  Another idiot showed up on Meet the Press (of NBC-TV) on August 27, 2017, and the idiot was Governor John Kasich (of Ohio), who calls himself a "Republican," but I state that he is a socialist.  John Kasich pushed along the bullshit about getting people to come together--that is, he wants good people (non-communists and such) to get along with communists and black racists and Shariaists) or "come together."  John Kasich is a rotten man, who wants people to "pull together" and who wants to solve the state health-care exchanges problem.  John Kasich is a bad man--a very bad man.  I turned the channel away from John Kasich and ended up watching a portion of This Week (of ABC-TV), and a panel discussion was going on, and the main topic of Donald Trump's pardon of former Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  I got exposed to seeing a black racist, spouting off nonsense.  The man was Roland Martin, who pushed out the idea that Sheriff Joe Arpaio had been "racial profiling" against people some years back--during Barack Obama's years as president of the United States of America--and Roland Martin pushed out the idea that the "court" said that he had been.  That is bullshit, since the court made a bullshit ruling.  Joseph Arpaio was following U.S. immigration law, while the Barack Obama administration was violating the law--not following the laws on the books.  The court gave a shit ruling!  Roland Martin also pushed out the bullshit that Donald Trump is "used to being a bully" and that now Donald Trump was a "bully-oin-chief."  Yes, it is easy to find rotten persons on television these days--all the Democrats (who are, for instance, black racists, communists, or socialists) and many "Republicans."

You do not come together with rotten or bad people!  You beat them down all the time!  It is what has to be done to protect yourself from bad times!  [Note: You are urged to see Michigan Travel Tips #161 to learn about more bad people--bad people in Michigan--and that document can be reached by using this Travel #161 link.]

By the way, on Sunday, September 3, 2017, I learned more nonsense from the mind of U.S. Senator John McCain (who calls himself a "Republican" but acts like a communist) and from the mind of former U.S. Senator John Danforth (who calls himself a "Republican: but acts like a stupid man).  On that day, the NBC-TV series called Meet the Press showed quotations from John McCain and John Danforth.  The quotations showed off the rottenness of both man (though the members of Meet the Press probably thought they were helping to put down Donald Trump and to promote their communistic causes).  If you want to see the crap from John McCain and John Danforth that I am talking about, see the program.  If you see the program, you will see much more crap, which I do not hint at here.

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in May 2017): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned).  I note that Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph.  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, U.S. Senator John McCain, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]

Have you heard a movie about the "Flint Water Crisis" (circa 2014) will be aired on Lifetime (the network) on October 28, 2017).  In Michigan Travel Tips #155 (which was published on March 10, 2017), I talked about the "Flint Water Crisis," specifically showing who really is to blame for the crisis, and I put the focus on the people of Flint, who, for years, had elected rotten people (mostly Democrats) to the political jobs of mayor and council members, and I showed how, in the election of November 2016, the people of Flint elected a bunch of rotten people [Note: To see Michigan Travel Tips #155, use this link--Travel #155].  The movie--which is currently entitled Flint--has such persons as performers as Queen Latifah, Betsy Brandt, and Jill Scott.  Two of the persons who are getting an "executive producer" credit on the movie are Cher (the well-known singer and Democrat and feminist) and Katie Couric (who, for years, was a regular on Today (the morning show put out by NBC-TV, the communistic-based network).  The nature of a person can been seen by the persons with whom the person associates and with what topics the person supports.  I report once again that the people of Flint "shit in their own nest" by hiring rotten people to be mayor and council members, and the bad people then did rotten things that killed Flint and gave the city the "Flint Water Crisis."  Since I published Michigan Travel Tips, some council members have ended up showing more of their garbage minds.  Eric Mays has been shown to have pawned a city-owned laptop nine times to get money (pawning it at a place called Music Man Pawnshop, which is located across the street from the city hall building of Flint), and Mantwaz Davis has been shown to have violated "parole" (and that led to his being given a 60-day jail term).  So, a bunch of people are going to present their story about the "Flint Water Crisis" through a movie entitled Flint.  I say that it will be propaganda and bullshit.  When you see such persons as Cher, Katie Couric, and Queen Latifah, keep in mind you are seeing highly rotten people.  [Adams, Dominic.  "Flint councilman gets 60 days in jail for marijuana use."  MLive.com, 15 June 2017, 3:30 p.m.; Adams, Dominic.  "Flint councilman Mantwaz Davis jailed for probation violation."  MLive.com, 15 June 2017, 11:45 a.m.; Goodin-Smith, Oona.  "Police probe claims Flint councilman pawned city's laptop for $100."  Mlive.com, 23 May 2017, 6:43 p.m.; Goodin-Smith, Oona.  "Flint councilman charged after allegedly pawning city laptop 9 times."  MLive.com, 23 August 2017, 2:12 p.m.]

And now I come to the Looking at the Movies segment; it is a segment that urges you to see such-and-such old movie, such as through YouTube, and the movie is usually one of the first movies to be broadcast on television in the Detroit area/Windsor (Ontario) area--sometime before 1954.  Since February 1948, when the first full-length feature movie, a little more than 200 persons have hosted shows that presented movies to Detroit/Windsor area viewers [Note: I do not have the exact number, since I am not done hunting down everyone].  One person to host a movie show was Rube Weiss, and his show was entitled Tales of the Hawk.  The show ran for about two years and a half, running from 1951 to 1953.  One of the first movies shown was The Black Raven, which had been released to movie theaters in 1943 and featured George Zucco.  Rube Weiss played a character called Eddy Drake, and, really, the show started out as a "movie show" and then turned into a show showing episodes of a former network television series called Front Page Detective (the transition from a movie show to the other form took place in early 1953).  Front Page Detective (which featured Edmund Lowe as newspaper man David Chase) ran on the Dumont television network from March 1951 to September 1952 (in the original showing).  On July 3, 1951, WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, aired The Black Raven within Rube Weiss's show called Tales of the Hawk.  George Zucco played a man called Amos Bradford, and Wanda McKay played Lee Winfield, and Noel Madison played Mike, and Byron Foulger played Horace, and Glenn Strange played Andy.  In the story, a killer was on the loose at an inn during a time when a storm washed out bridges, stranding people at the inn.  When I saw the movie the other day, the two faces most familiar to me were those of George Zucco (I remember him in a "Sherlock Holmes" movie featuring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce) and Byron Foulger (I remember Byron Foulger from my seeing him in television shows over the years).  Pretend it is Tuesday, July 3, 1951, and it is 9:00 p.m., and you are getting ready to watch Tales of the Hawk on Channel 7.  By the way, when you are finished, you might look up episodes of Front Page Detective, such as the episode entitled "Alibi for Suicide".  The Black Raven is your presentation on Looking at the Movies in this edition of Television History and Trivia.

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

Vic

P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link.  I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man."  For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Christ Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President.  I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often and usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
