Announcement

"Shared Responsibility Payment"--this is a reason
to hate all Democrats (especially the politicians), many
upper-level politicians of Republican Party, and two-thirds of
U.S. Supreme Court.  The payment is what the federal
government thinks people who do not buy government-
approved health insurance should pay as a tax or a fine.
It has come about through the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act of 2010.  It is rottenness of the
highest degree.  The only way for a good person
to destroy a bad person is to hate the bad person.
It is a rule of life!  I promote hate of rotten people,
especially Barack Hussein Obama, a promoter of
Sharia and communism and a killer.  I will not share
in paying for jackass sex-change-appearance people,
like that "Jenner" defect of nature, or foreigners, especially
illegal aliens, who are criminals, despite what shit-head
Barack Obama wants you to believe.  Hate the enemy!
I state again--I promote hate against rotten people!

- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 141 - - -

This edition, I have an opening paragraph that goes back in time in Detroit television history, and it is done to report on what probably can be considered a lost television show or, really, series--a program produced in Detroit at a television station and aired at that station only.  Today, many people think of the show as Peter, Clare and Oscar and think of it as a 1950 show.  Last month, I went looking to see when the series was produced and was aired, and I was looking for "Peter, Clare and Oscar" as the title of the show.  I already knew a main performer on the show was Clare Cummings, who--after Peter, Clare and Oscar was gone--would become famous as Milky the Clown, a character that would be played by two actors on television.  I started what I called "tracking," the process of hunting down information about the show, and after a short while, I found an episode listed in an old television program guide.  That episode was called Peter, Clare and Oscar.  It ran about 15 minutes.  Then I had to go over a bunch of days and weeks of television program listings to find other episodes and air dates.  Generally speaking, the series aired on WJBK-TV, Channel 2, from the middle of July 1949 to the middle of October 1949.  The first listing for the show was for Thursday, July 14, 1949, at 6:15 p.m.  Hold it!  It was not listed as "Peter, Clare and Oscar" in television program listing.  The show was called Clare and Oscar only.  The next three programs aired in the same time period, and the first two programs were still listed as Clare and Oscar, and it was not till the August 4, 1949, episode that the program got a bigger name for the first time.  For August 4, 1949, the name of the program in The Toledo Blade (of Toledo, Ohio, the United States of America) television listing was Clair, Oscar and Peter, and the listing in the The Windsor Daily Star (of Windsor, Ontario, Canada) was unavailable to me.  The listing for August 11, 1949, was Clair, Oscar and Peter in The Toledo Blade and Clare, Oscar and Peter in The Windsor Daily Star.  The listing for August 18, 1949, was Peter, Clare and Oscar in The Toledo Blade and Clare, Oscar and Peter in The Windsor Daily Star.  By the way, I found that, from August 11, 1949, through September 22, 1949, the program aired at 7:15 p.m. on Thurdsay, and it ran for 15 minutes.  From August 25, 1949, to the end of the run, the program was called Peter, Clare and Oscar in The Toledo BladeThe Windsor Daily Star had Clare, Oscar and Peter for August 25, 1959, and September 1, 1949.  I could get no listing for September 8, 1949, in The Windsor Daily Star.  Starting on September 15, 1949, The Windsor Daily Star used Peter, Clare and Oscar for the televison program.  On Wednesday, September 28, 1949, the show was shown as 5:15 p.m., and it looks as if the program ran 30 minutes (but  maybe at 5:30 p.m., there was something else or nothing for 15 minutes).  The last showings that I could find were for Wednesday, October 5, 1949, and Wednesday, October 12, 1949, and on each of these two days, the start time was 6:00 p.m., and the running time was 15 minutes.  I do not know for sure if I found all the episodes--such as the real first and the real final.  I note here that I could not get any information for Thursday, September 8, 1949, during the search of The Toledo Blade and The Windsor Daily Star.  Some day in the future, I will have to use other sources, such as The Detroit News, which were not available at the location from which I did my searching.  Peter, Clare and Oscar (which seems to be the normal correct title used for most of the run of the weekly series) or Clare and Oscar was a children's program, having magic and music and stories for children.  In essence, Clare Cummings [not "Clair" Cummings], who was at least a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and who performed magic shows for groups of people, was known for doing at least hand puppetry.

In the summer of 1949, a person in the Toledo (Ohio)/Detroit (Michigan) area who watched the show called either Clare and Oscar or Peter, Clare and Oscar might have had a Crosley brand television set.  This past month, I found an advertisement for Crosley television sets in an edition of The Toledo Blade for Tuesday, April 12, 1949, on page 22.  The advertisement pushed out the idea that there is "Sensational TV News!".  The advertisement noted that Crosley was now selling television sets that also had FM radios with them, and Crosley gave the impression that it was the first television brand to have a television set on the market that also had an FM radio.  One television set for sale--the model number for which was not listed--had an ten-inch screen and cost $299.95 and another model--the model number for which was not listed--had a twelve-inch screen and cost $425.00.  Both models were table models, and, of course, they were black-and-white sets (that related to the picture tubes).  Also a person who bought a set would have to pay an excise tax.

Incidentally, WJBK-TV started up broacasting as a commercial television station on October 28, 1948, and most of the television programs run by WJBK-TV, Channel 2, during the first year of operation were not produced at the station, or I can say that most of the television programs were produced elsewhere, and, in fact, almost all the programs shown were CBS-TV network programs or DuMont network programs.  During the first year, one of the regular programs produced at the station was Gentile and Binge Frolic (which featured two famous local radio personalities).  Another early program was Petticoat Lane, and in early 1949, the choir of Wayne University (Detroit, Michigan) did a number of 15-minute singing programs, and one more program was The Bob Murphy Show.  I note that the station was only broadcasting programs for a few hours each day in June 1949.

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in August 2015): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, go to Fox News Channel (which has to be treated as wishy-washy and suspect, showing signs of mostly supporting the Republician Party establishment, which is rotten), WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama, as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned with it in presenting political stories and events, and you should discover CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV avoid covering things that make Barack Obama look bad or show his true nature, which could harm you).  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  [Note: The Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, U.S. Senator John McCain, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]

Now let me jump over to Channel 4.1, WDIV-HD, in the Detroit--though in modern times, somewhat.  On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, the station aired another program designed to make Cuba look nice and good and pleasant and safe.  The program was called Havana 313- [Note: "313" is the area code for Detroit, Michigan.  Havana is in Cuba.  What the hell does Havana have to do with "313" or Detroit?  The title seems to be dumb.].  By the way, on May 29, 2014, the station aired Pope Francis: Calling on America, and on September 18, 2015, the station aired Crossroads: The Francis Factor, and both programs are subjects of discussion in T.H.A.T. #138, which can be reached through this T.H.A.T. #138 link. Havana 313- was more crap from WDIV-HD and, in particular, the host of the program, who was Devin Scillian, and a lot of the program reminded me of, for one, Crossroads: The Francis Factor, since many people in Cuba were seen in both.  In essense, Havana 313- was rehashed stuff.  Oh, Devin Scillian seemed to be so impressed by the guys in Cuba (tied to NostalgiCar, a business of sorts), who, to keep cars on the roads (to keep old cars on the roads), make parts, such a quarter panels by hand from sheets of thin metal [Note: It is not as if the process is not done in the United States of America, such as by car buffs and car restorers, as can be seen on a television program currently being shown the Grit network that is called PowerBlock (*) which is hosted by Stacy McCloud].  And Devin Scillian was so happy to get to drive one of the cars in Cuba.  Havana 313- was a propaganda piece, headed by Devin Scillian.
[ * = Actually, "PowerBlock" is an umbrella title for a group of half-hour shows, such as Trucks! and Xtreme 4x4, that focus on building cars, repairing cars, et cetera.]

Maybe one of these days, Devin Scillian will do something useful with his career--being a news reader on television newscasts.  For example, Devin Scillian could talk about or report what Islamic women who are followers of Sharia get for blowing themselves up with a bomb in an effort to kill non-followers of Sharia.  No, women do not get 72 virgins from "Allah" (as men do).  In a video on YouTube called Cleric: A Woman Must Not Have Sex with Her Slave; She Can Marry Him, Turning Him into Her Master, Skeikh Mashhoor bin Hasqan Al-Salman notes--taking information from the Prophet Muhammed--that a woman who blows herself up on behalf of Allah gets "...clothing that never wears out, youth that never wanes, and a penis that never bends....".  That is what comes out of Sharia (Islamic law), and it is crap, like the figure head known as "Allah," which is nothing more than an mythical image created by a man or men over the centuries.  A person who sees the information about what a woman gets for blowing herself up to kill non-followers of Sharia and sees the video called Cleric: A Woman Must Not Have Sex with Her Slave; She Can Marry Him, Turning Him into Her Master can see that Sharia makes women second class citizens, even in death--a woman can have slave stature to men in death--and also the person can see the insanity of Sharia.  Really, all that Sharia (Islamic law) is is a political system tied to violence upon others and coercion of others.  It is something that Devin Scillian should report on, maybe when he gets tried of promoting as good Cuba and communism.

On November 11, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., WJBK-HD, Channel 2.1, aired another version of Tribute to Our Troops, which has been an annual event or special half-hour program hosted by Sherry Margolis for more than a decade.  This year, Sherry Margolis--who was at the Yankee Air Museum (of Willow Run Airport)--hosted the program, and Taryn Asher, Amy Andrews, Lee Thomas, and Rich Luterman were reporters for segments.  Hurray for the troops!  Yet, I have to show up one rotten segment of the program.  The segment, which was hosted by Taryn Asher, focused on Emma Didlake, who was in the U.S. military for World War II.  The program showed Emma Didlake's granddaughter named Marilyn Horn on the program, and Marilyn Horn spouted crap, such as praising Barack Obama for a meeting involving Barack Obama and Emma Didlake one day (for example, Marilyn Horn said that Barack Obama was "...so very personable.", and she was so happy there was a black U.S. president).  Also, the program showed a clip of Barack Obama, even though Barack Obama has shown himself to be anti-U.S. military.  Just because a woman can deserve praise, it does not mean her granddaughter cannot be crap.  The Channel 2 people get one black mark for Tribute to Our Troops.

During December 2015, television viewers were exposed to a number of holiday specials--some old and some new and some that can be called dubious holiday specials--and on December 25, 2015, I caught a holiday special that was first aired by CBS-TV on December 14, 1955.  It was and is called The Miracle on 34th Street.  It was or is sort of like the movie called Miracle on 34th Street that featured such performers at Edmund Gwenn and Natalie Wood and that was first shown to people in 1947 in movie theaters.  The television special had Thomas Mitchell playing Kris Kringle, Sandy Descher playing the little girl (Susan), and Macdonald Carey playing Fred Gaily.  The production was originally used to fill an hour block of time with commercials.  I found the television show to be a harmless presentation and pleasant presentation, and I say that it would be good enough for children.

Now let me get back to WJBK-HD, Channel 2.1, which aired several holiday specials during December 2015, and all I would have avoided if I did not keep track of television programs produced at Detroit television stations.  One program was called Happy Holidays, Detroit!.  Actually, much of the program was repeated material from a presentation of about a year ago.  One program was called Amy's Angeles (hosted by Amy Andrews), and it was nothing more than stuff that had been aired during the previous year in newscasts, and it was one of those community-interest programs that television news people do to make it seem as if they are giving back to the community and doing something useful in life.  The program exposed the viewer to various charity-type entities trying to do good, such as trying to help the homeless or get people to become organ donors.  Amy Andrews--a blonde--came off as a shallow woman and a phony.  Another special was Rebuild Detroit, which I saw on December 26, 2015.  It was another program hosted by Sherry Margolis.  It was a gag-me presentation.  For instance, one person featured on the show was Brittney Rooney, who runs Beaverland Farms, and she is trying to bring back farms to Detroit.  She came off as the typical socialist or communist underling.  For example, she used one cliché of the present-day socialist and communist working to put down the country and take the world back to nature.  She said that Detroit is a "...food desert....".  [That--"food desert"--is a bullshit phrase.]  Oh, hold it!  What was the goal of the program--it was designed to show that Detroit is getting better.  An early portion of the program noted that, the city was getting better, because a lot of young people were moving back in to the city, such as to the downtown area.  [The program gave no facts to back up the idea that the city was getting better, such as that noting that the high adult illiteracy rate was going down.]  To prove that the city was getting better, the show highlighted a business called Urban Ashes, which is reclaiming wood from old homes, such as abandoned homes, and the show highlighted a business in which as man named Mark Wallace is making guitars out of reclaimed wood (he got a big endorsement from a musician named Stewart Francke).  The program talked about a couple--Dan Vermeersch and Ryan Havens--restoring an old house.  So what?--I say to all of it!  The examples of how Detroit is getting better were lame and almost useless.  A city does become vibrant with farms, guitars, and a few restored homes.  Where are the machines shops, the tool shops, the factories, the repair shops, the cement companies, tool making-companies, et cetera?  On December 25, 2015, WJBK-HD, Channel 2.1, also had a special called Fox 2 Holiday Connection, in which the hosts--Jay Towers and Sherry Margolis--and reporters--Randy Wimbley, Maurielle Lue, Robin Murdoch--talked about social entities in the Detroit area that need money and volunteers and whatever.  Basically, television newscasts do such stuff every day--often foregoing real news about the country and the city--so why would people use holiday time to see the special?  And Sherry Margolis came off a stilted.

I note that almost all the persons taking part in political talk shows on television on Sundays or weekdays or so are rotten persons, and I do not exclude Republicans (almost all the persons who represent the "Republican Party" on television are rotten people).  One of the worst shows is The McLaughlin Group, which is carried weekly by PBS-associated television.  I caught the episode of The McLaughlin Group for the week of December 25, 2015, and the host was John McLaughlin (who looked old and highly ill), who is a "liberal," and the panel had Clarence Page, Pat Buchanan, Tom Rogan, and Eleanor Clift (who has received attention in editions of T.H.A.T. in the past).  The show was loaded with idiot comments.  For example, Tom Rogan said that his pick for promoting capitalism in the world was the Pope, though I have shown in documents at The Hologlobe Press that the Pope actually promotes and supports socialism and communism.  By the way, the introduction to each program has an announcer noting that the program has the "sharpest minds....".  That is crap!  The most-rotten person on the panel is Eleanor Clift, a hard-line communist, who during the program showed every time that she talked that she supports communists (such as Justin Trudeau, the fairly new prime minister of Canada) or progressives.  During the program, Eleanor Clift showed her hate for people who are anti-communists and anti-socialists and what might be called the American way of life.  By the way, man has been using carbon fuels for centuries and centuries, burning whale oil, burning twigs, burning peat moss, burning coal, et cetera, and the burning has been done by people to stay alive, such as to provide heat or provide electricity to keep warm.  Eleanor Clift was all happy that some 200 nations of the world came together recently to set up a new "treaty" (as I call it, since it is a "treaty") that addresses climate change, and Eleanor Clift noted---"...It's the beginning of the end of the era of fossil fuel....".  Eleanor Clift has a mind of a killer--the killer of men and women--who promotes and pushes the lies of manmade global warming or manmade climate change, and she is working to push suffering at the hands of nature on men and women in the United States of America.  During the program, Eleanor Clift did not once show pleasantness her in persona, and she even showed she seemed to be more concerned with the health of "her cats" than people, and she is very concerned about climate change--though the entire concept is a lie, being used to kill the industrial industry in the country and put the industrial industry in the country completely in control of communists and such (the communists and such in the country and outside the country).  Yes, Eleanor Clift was happy and elated that carbon-based-fuel use would be shut down in the United States of America, though offering no alternative to keep millions of people thriving and alive.  Of course, her aim is to hurt others, as is the way of The Communist Manifesto, which, basically, says that people will get hurt in the process of changing a society from something to communism [Note: Karl Marx must--must--be one of her heroes].

Oh, did your favorite television newscaster report that, on December 4, 2015, Barack Obama signed the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (or the FAST Act), which allows the Internal Revenue Service--a highly corrupt federal entity controlled by communists and such bad persons--to be involved in determining who gets and who does not get to have passports?  Your favorite television newscaster, such as the rotten Stephen Clark (of Channel 7.1, WXYZ-HD), probably did not report that the act has the section known as 7345 or the Revocation or Denial of Passport in Case of Certain Tax Delinquencies.  Yes, today, without court action or a hearing before a court, a person who is a citizen of the United States of America may be denied a passport or the right to hold a passport based on recommentations of the Internal Revenue Service [Author note: For now, the recommentation is tied to debt of more than $50,000, but it seems very likely that the figure will be changed--downgraded--in the future].  I state--In a good country, a taxing entity--especially a corrupt taxing entity--should have no say so in passport matters, since such matters should be tied to the court system alone.

Here is more crap from the federal govrnment--currently guided by Barack Hussein Obama, a big supporter of Sharia.  On January 5, 2015, Barack Obama held a press event to announce he was using an "Executive Order" to make guns saver in the country and reduce the killings from guns.  I note--What Barack Obama was doing was creating law, though the U.S. president does not have the authority to create law.  Included in the "Executive Order" was a feature in which the federal government was going to, in essence, push doctors to report to the Federal Bureau of Investigation any person who they deem is mentally ill or the like and might have guns or might want a gun.  Did your favorite television newscaster tell you that?  Yes, the federal government pushing more citizens to spy and report on other citizens, the way of communistic nations.  [I urge you to see my document entitled It is All about Barack Obama and His Self-Preservation and "Freedom"--That is Why Barack Obama Must Take the Guns from "We, the People", which can be reached by using this Guns2 link.]

I end with an odd event.  On Wednesday, January 6, 2015, at 11:30 p.m., I started watching an episode of Perry Mason on MeTV (a subchannel network), and the episode was entitled The Case of the Shapely Shadow, which was first shown on CBS-TV on January 6, 1962.  A gal was with me.  We watched the entire episode, and we watched the end credits.  We noticed that the director of the episode was "Christian Nyby".  The gal who was with me tried a pronunciation of "Nyby", and I gave an alternative pronunciation.  I told her that there was a son known as "Christian Nyby II", who was also a director.  The episode ran one hour, and it was followed by an old made-for-TV movie entitled A Perry Mason Mystery: "The Case of the Wicked Wives", which originally aired on NBC-TV on Friday, December 17, 1993 (Raymond Burr (as Perry Mason) was not an actor in the production).  While we were watching the movie, I told my friend that Paul Sorvino was playing the main character of the story--Anthony Caruso, a lawyer--and I noted that Paul Sorvino had a daughter who was an actress known as Mira Sorvino.  Also, I noted that Anthony Caruso was the name of an actor of the past, such as in the 1950s and 1960s (when Perry Mason was in production), and he often played bad guys in movies and television shows.  When we were well into watching the movie, I remembered something, and I ran in to another room and grabbed an old VHS tape that I had bought for 25 cents very recently.  The VHS tape had never been opened, and the tape held the movie called Norma Jean, which had Mira Sorvino as one of the main actresses.  I was able to show my friend what Mira Sorvino looked like.  In addition, I told my friend--who was not well versed in who actors and actresses were--the victim was played by Eric Braeden, who early in his career had called himself "Hans Gudegast".  I pointed out the former big-name models (somewhat actresses) who were performers in the movie, particularly Kathy Ireland, Maud Adams (whose character was first seen in a scene that was supposed to be in Detroit), Beverly Johnson, Shelley Hack, and Kim Alexis.  Hold it!  Let me back up a bunch of minutes in the timeline of my story about the odd event.  While the opening credits to the TV-movie were rolling, we watched, and, of course, at one point, the credit for the director of the movie showed up--the director was "Christian I. Nyby II".

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!
