- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 173 - - -

When I write, I write for me first--I write to tell me what is going on, what went on, and what is truth.  You are secondary to me!  But what I write for me and put on the Internet or put in another public medium, you get a chance to see.  The editions of T.H.A.T., such as this edition, were written for me first and for you next.  Since 2004, I have written 173 editions of T.H.A.T., and I use editions of T.H.A.T. and other documents that I put on the Internet to not only pass along truth and dispel lies but also to beat up on rotten people, such as those in the television industry and the newspaper industry.  It is very easy to find rotten people on television and at newspapers in this day and age--"The Pseudo Information Age and the Age of Ignorance."  The opening of this edition of T.H.A.T. is being used to show up some rottenness tied to the Detroit Free Press, which is a communistic-based newspaper [Note: In the previous edition of T.H.A.T., I showed up rottenness of Mitch Albom, who works at the Detroit Free Press and does work for television in Detroit, and I showed up his crap related to attacks by the media on U.S. President Donald Trump.].  Although editions of T.H.A.T. are focused mostly on television, I have used editions to talk about newspapers, such as the Detroit Free Press, since some people who work at newspapers in Detroit can do work for television, and, in this edition, although the writer of a piece for a newspaper--particularly the Detroit Free Press--does not get to work on, for instance, Detroit television regularly, as do Mitch Albom and Rochelle Riley of the Detroit Free Press, I have to beat up on the person, which is a wonderful occasion to me.  On Thursday, August 16, 2018, a number of big-name newspapers around the country used space in their editions to beat up on U.S. President Donald Trump and U.S. President Donald Trump's attacks on some media people, such as some newspaper people, in the country, and a good person knows the tactic is like a conspiracy--newspapers got together to attack U.S. President Donald Trump.  The Detroit Free Press had two main articles for readers on that day, one of which was by Manny Garcia (Garcia, Manny.  "Our journalists uncover real stories, not fake news." Detroit Free Press, 16 August 2018, p. 14A.) and the other of which was by Brian Dickerson (Dickerson, Brian.  "Enemies of the people who I have known."  Detroit Free Press, 16 August 2018, p. 14A.).  Manny Garcia's piece was a fluff piece or a filler piece, working to convince readers of the good done by, for example, the newspaper profession.  I am going to forget the piece, since the piece is something to forget, and it was a low-level-thought piece.  I do have to talk about Brian Dickerson's piece, whose piece was "Inspired (and provoked) by President Donald Trump's serial slanders on our craft and our colleagues...." (as a part of the first sentence of his article noted).  Right from the start, Brian Dickerson showed that he has a shit-head mind.  U.S. President Donald Trump has not put out "serial slanders."  The idea from Brian Dickerson is bullshit!  I state--U.S. Donald Trump has commented on rotten stuff done by, for instance, particular news entities or news writers--in relation to politics.  Brian Dickerson put out no proof of U.S. President Donald Trump's doing "serial slanders", which a good journalist would do or would have done.  In essence, Brian Dickerson was perpetuating myth floating around in many people's minds.  Much of Brian Dickerson's article was about "klong"--or at least the first half of it was.  Basically, "klong" has to do with the emotions of a media person, especially in the newspaper business, and "klong" seems to do with feelings that a person who did a story or something related to a story might have done something wrong, such as misspell a name of a person.  Halfway through the article (yet focusing on "klong"), Brian Dickerson wrote--"...But I have known literally thousands of journalists in my 40-year-career, and I can assure you that the least accomplished of them are haunted by that very anxiety.  So when I hear the president describe journalists as people who casually conspire to disseminate 'fake news,' I have to ask: Who the hell is he talking about?....".  I note--U.S. President has not called out all "journalists" in his talks about "fake news".  U.S. President Donald Trump has not focused on the writers of obituaries, the writers of recipes, the writers of auto accidents, the writers of record reviews, the writers of movie reviews, the writers of house fires, the writers of investment strategies, the writers of park openings, the writers of tourist attractions, the writers of fraud cases tied to business people and non-business people, et cetera.  The focus from U.S. President Donald Trump has been on the political writers--at newspapers and on television at least--who have shown themselves to be rotten by passing along crap and by not passing along truth, such as about the Hillary Clinton scandals.  Hey, look at my website, and look at the documents that show off the scandals tied to Barack Hussein Obama (a communist) while he was the U.S. president, which are topics that the main media avoided as much as could be done!  Let me get back to the last-quoted material.  Did you notice how Brian Dickerson's logic failed.  Brian Dickerson pushed out the idea about the "least accomplished" having the anxiety.  So I ask--Then the so-called "accomplished" do not have that "klong" thing?  I also ask--When does a person pass the "least accomplished" state and enter the "accomplished" state?  I also note--So once a person passes out of the "least accomplished" state, then the person does not worry about passing along wrong information it seems.  Brian Dickerson through the defective sentence did not sell the idea that newspaper writers are always haunted by passing along wrong information, which might drive them to do well.  The sentence fell apart because the logic fell apart.  In the article, Brian Dickerson tried to sell the idea that, because newspaper writers have to work fast (in essence), unlike historians, newspaper writers can be subject to making errors.  That idea was pushed out in Brian Dickerson's selling--"...Most of these [errors] we discover, and correct, in a timely way.  But occasionally, the truthful account of any event is known to so few individuals, and its public disclosure is so compromising, that it eludes our best efforts to discover it for years, or even decades.  That's what distinguishes what we do from what historians do, and the pace at which they do it."  I report--When I was in university classes about the newspaper industry (at Wayne State University) in the early 1970s, I learned that a writer has to meet a deadline, and a writer can only go with what the writer has ("Go with what you got"), but that means the writer pushes out only what is well known to be true or fact, and if something is not known, then the writer, for instance, can report that such-and-such a thing is not known, and if a story is not ready for the deadline, then the story is not ready and should not be published--put something else in (such as filler or whatever).  Brian Dickerson passed along this crap--"...And of course some journalists lie, just as some clergymen, accountants, geologists and supply-chain-management executives do.  But when you accuse journalists of routinely publishing things they know to be false, it is the equivalent of asserting that the majority of doctors of are in the business of purposefully maiming their patients....".   [Note: Brian Dickerson's article had "doctors of are", which is an error.].  Brian Dickerson's use of comparing writers with others, especially doctors, has no ties to good thought.  It is false thought.  Remember--U.S. President Donald Trump is not putting down, for example, all newspaper writers.  Brian Dickerson's argument involving, for example, talking about newspaper people in general and doctors in general is useless.  In addition, the comparison is underhanded--Brian Dickerson was trying to say that all doctors are not purposely trying to kill patients so you should think that all newspaper writers are not going to write crap, but the jobs of doctors and newspaper writers are different, and since newspaper writers are not focused on keeping people alive--which can result in big penalities--newspaper writers can get away with rotten things easier, such as bad writing and lies [Note: When doctors do bad, they can be sued and put out of the medical profession, and when journalists do bad, at worst they may be fired but they can still end up working somewhere (and a good example of  that idea is Brian Williams).]  [Note: Hey, Brian Dickerson, do you not remember U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama's assertion given in public that doctors--in general--purposely work to do operations to make more money?  In July 2009, for instance, Barack Obama said in public--"...That's not, that's not how it's workin' right now.  Right now, doctors a lot of times are forced to make decisions based on the fee-payment schedule that's out there.  So, if they're lookin', and, and, you come in, and you've got a bad sore throat, or your child has a bad sore throat--has repeated sore throats--the doctor may look at the reimbursement system and say to himself--'You know what?  I make a lot more money if I take this kid's tonsils out.'....".  Brian Dickerson, did you show up U.S. President Barack Obama's crap idea?]  In the article, Brian Dickerson passed along--"...When President Trump asserts that the average journalist lies as casually, habitually, and unscrupulously as he himself does, he is up to something more malignant than trolling his critics in the press.  Any diminution of my profession's reputation is mere collateral damage in this campaign, whose real intent is to undermine public confidence in any version of events except Trump's own.  This is not a harbinger of authoritarianism; this is its ugly, deceitful face....".  Where is the proof that U.S. President Donald Trump lies "...casually, habitually and unscrupulously...."?  Brian Dickerson passed along no example or examples of U.S. President Donald Trump's lying, especially to a high degree (not just a misspeak).  By the way, I have two very long documents that show proof of U.S. President Barack Obama's perpetual lying, and it is a sign of good journalism done by me [Note: One of the documents is Nonsense Statements and Quotations of Barack Obama, which can be reached through this Quotes link.].  Where are and what are all the lies from U.S. President Donald Trump, Brian Dickerson?  Where are and what are all the lies from U.S. President Donald Trump that truly hurt people, especially millions of people, Brian Dickerson?  Your article should have shown a bunch of U.S. President Donald Trump's lies to make the case, especially those that hurt people!  Your article should have shown a bunch of U.S. Donald Trump's lies, given you made the claim that U.S. President Donald Trump is going beyond "authoritarianism" [Note: The first half of the article was about "klong" or crap, and the space could have been used to show facts and proof about lies.].  Brian Dickerson, your lack of proof shows bad journalism!  I state--Brian Dickerson's saying "This is not a harbinger of authoritarianism; this is its ugly, deceitful face...." falls flat, since it is not backed up with anything but a collection of nothing, but it could better be thought of as an evil, evil tactic used by Brian Dickerson to shoot down U.S. President Donald Trump.  It is fact that Brian Dickerson--through the article--showed himself to be just another shit-head in at least the Detroit-area media--an "enemy" of good people!   [Note: I am not done with showing the evil and rotten minds at the Detroit Free Press.  In the next edition of Television History and Trivia, I will talk about John Gallagher's article entitled "Socialism was once a boon for Detroit" [Gallagher, John.  "Socialism was once a boon for Detroit."  Detroit Free Press, 3 September 2018, pp. 1A and 13A.].  The article shows why Mitch Albom, Brian Dickerson, and John Gallagher are people to hate--and hate well--and, to hate, that must be taught to good children so that they can protect themselves.]
I now say--Look at stuff that I wrote for me first about television and then for you this month.

On Saturday, August 11, 2018, I cut down three trees in the late morning and early afternoon, and after that was done, I took a shower, since it was a hot and humid day, and then I turned on the television, and I scanned through the broadcast channels.  I ended up at Channel 33.1 (broadcast), which is known as WHPS-TV (unofficially), Detroit.  It is a low-budget television station and a low-power television station, and it is a station with low-level thinkers, as I have shown in the past.  It was about 2:30 p.m., and a man named Dan Aldridge was on the screen, pushing out crap.  For instance, Dan Aldridge noted that the nation really has not dealt with "white supremacy."  Dan Aldridge, who is a black and is tied to "black nationalism" (anti-white stuff, really), noted that in Detroit, if you go to "white" areas, things are kind of getting better, but it you go to "black" areas (neighborhoods), you see things are not getting better, such as economically.  Dan Aldridge pushed out the issue that blacks are being left behind, and he was pushing out the idea that "white supremacy" ideas were involved in keeping "blacks" down.  I say that is crap from a shit-head man.  For one, the population in Detroit is about 80-percent "black, and "blacks" are in control in the city, as they have been for decades.  Yet, Dan Aldridge pushed out the idea that "whites" are to blame for the stagnation in the "black" areas.  That is illogical and wrong.  I contend a big problem is the "black culture" of Detroit--people who have poor education and poor reading skills (standards that have been set up and allowed to exist for several decades by politicians, teachers, and family structures), people who expect the government to give them stuff for simply being born and being alive, people with defective family units, people who do not do anything, et cetera.  I now note that Dan Aldridge's segment on WHPS-TV was part of a television series called Pulsebeat.tv, which is a local production that has been around for a few years.
[Note: I have to make this side note.  On Sunday, August 12, 2018, I happened to see material under the headline "Want to save the world?  Change what you eat" in the Detroit Free Press ("Want to save the world?  Change what you eat."  Detroit Free Press, 12 August 2018, p. 25A.).  The material was "feedback" stuff from readers, and the first portion came from a man named Don Norwalk of Detroit.  Look at the idiocy of this Detroiter.  His first paragraph was--"With scorching heat and raging wildfires in the West and torrential downpours and massive flooding in the East, global warming is not just about a gentle sea rise any more.  These tragic consequences of dumping greenhouse gases into our atmosphere, call for drastic remedies.". Don Norwalk's fourth paragraph was--"Carbon dioxide is emitted by burning forests to create animal pastures and by transporting animals.  The more damaging methane and nitrous oxide are released from digestive tracts of cattle and from animal waste cesspools.".  And Dan Norwalk's fifth paragraph was--"In an environmentally sustainable world, we must replace meat and dairy products in our diet with vegetables, fruits, and grains, just as we replace fossil fuels with wind, solar, and other pollution-free energy sources.".  Do you see the idiocy in this Detroiter's thinking?  If you do not, you are an idiot!  Generally speaking, animals eat grains and plants to grow, and some animals eat other animals (who have eaten grains and plants to grow), and humans eat grains and plants and animals to grow.  So if you stop eating animals, you still eat grains and plants and you have to eat more plants than you did before, and you still give off methane--you give off methane when you eat grains and plants and animals.  If you eat less meat, you have to eat even more grains and plants to take in enough material (such as sugars and vitamins) to feed cells in the body, create cells in the body, et cetera, and you produce more methane.  By the way, you cannot survive on "pills" as was promoted in the old and fun cartoon television series called The Jetsons.  And Don Norwalk is just another example of the ignorance that is in Detroit.]

Hey, the professional football season it back.  Have you see the the "Piss-Ass Kid" on television again?  That is Odell Beckham Jr., who plays football for the New York Giants.  Remember--To protest during a football game last year, Odell Beckham Jr. got down on all fours and then lifted his leg like a dog who is pissing.  Yes, Odell Beckham Jr.--the "Piss-Ass Kid"--could show up on your television set any day again  At least, you know him by the nickname that I gave him.  On, on Friday, August 17, 2018, the Detroit Lions played an exhibition game against the New York Giants, and it was aired in the Detroit area on Channel 2.1 (WJBK-HD) broadcast.  I happened to see the Piss-Ass Kid a few times that day, because the Piss-Ass Kid was shown on camera several times (he did not play).

I watched the first game of the professional football season on the special edition of Sunday Night Football of Thursday, September 2, 2018, on NBC-TV.  At about 10:53 p.m., I was exposed to an advertisement/promotional piece featuring Colin Kaepernick, the former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers.  Remember--Colin Kaepernick is the communism-supporting man, and proof of that can be found in, for example, T.H.A.T. #149 (which can be reached through this T.H.A.T. #149 link) and T.H.A.T. #162 (which can be reached through this T.H.A.T. #162 link).  To me, the advertisement was working to sell Colin Kaepernick as a good guy, though, in truth, he stands for rotten things.  In the advertisement, which was tied to Nike (the sports company), Colin Kaepernick said--"...Believe in something.".  Colin Kaepernick does believe in something, and he has proved in public what is it--rotten politics and rotten people.  By the way, the head of Nike is a man called Mark Parker, whose focus of study at Pennsylvania State University was in "political science," and I talk about the real value of a person versed in so-called "political science" in the next edition of T.H.A.T., in the part that focuses on the highly rotten John Gallagher of the Detroit Free Press, and, by the way, John Gallagher worked to sell Nike as good for using Colin Kaepernick though an article of September 5, 2018, entitled "Why Nike's Kaepernick ad is smart business" (Gallagher, John. "Why Nike's Kaepernick ad is smart business."  Detroit Free Press, 5 September 2018, pp. 14A and 15A.].  When a rotten person as a writer promotes something as good, the thing praised should be seen as suspect.

Hold it!  Here is another paragraph tied to football, but in this case, it is college football or university football.  On Saturday, September 1, 2018, Notre Dame played the University of Michigan, and the game was shown on television.  At about 10:35 p.m., there was a commercial for Notre Dame, urging young people to go there.  One young women in the commercial had this to say--"Education teaches us where we belong.".  I state--That is an idiotic statement.  That comment is stupid stuff!  See what young people at university can have in their minds?  I add--That comment is stupid girl stuff!  There was another piece of rottenness in the commercial, but I only half heard it, and I could not write it down here in a quoted way.

American Black Journal is a television program produced at WTVS-TV (a PBS-associated station) in Detroit, and the history of the program goes back to the late 1960s (though with other names), and on Saturday, August 18, 2018, I stumbled across an edition of the program, which was being shown in repeat on the World channel (Channel 56.4 (broadcast))--it was about 5:45 p.m. (Detroit time), and I joined the program already in progress.  I immediately saw Chuck Stokes (of Channel 7.1, WXYZ-HD) interviewing three persons, one of whom was Stephen Henderson [Note: In the past, I have shown how rotten Stephen Henderson is, and, for example, I have shown that he is a black racist.].  By the way, the host for American Black Journal is Stephen Henderson, and the episode was made very recently after that 2018 National Association of Black Journalists convention had been held in Detroit (from August 1, 2018, to August 5, 2018).  In the Chuck Stokes segment, Stephen Henderson passed along crap, such as the idea that Donald Trump is working to "draw and line between the media and main stream America" and make main stream America dislike the media.  The program offered the idea that the "black" way of life has been and is being ignored in the media business, and Stephen Henderson pushed out the idea that there is a lot of "fake news" about minority communities being pushed by the media.  That is crap!  One portion of the program showed on-the-street-like clips of people of the convention commenting on topics, and one gal pushed out the idea that, when the media (television, for example) was created in the 1950s, the country was segregated so the media was not created for black people.  I ask--Exactly what news related to the "black" ways of life or "blacks" is not being covered--economics, business news (such as business mergers), traffic accidents, deaths (such as of Aretha Franklin), tourism destinations, recipes, shootings, sports scores...?  The show noted that--it seems--blacks are under represented in newsrooms, and I say that, although "blacks" may be under represented in news rooms (which are mostly controlled by white socialists and white communists in this day and age), adding more "blacks" will not give newscasts more news about blacks, given there is no news that only applies to "blacks"--not really.  The idea that "blacks" or the black ways of life are not being covered is bullshit from defectives!
[Note: One black gal from the convention who was interviewed in an on-the-street-like moment and gave comments sounded like a little girl or a flake, and I would not hire her because she happened to be--I have to report it--a stupid black gal or a stupid black female journalist.]

On Saturday, August 18, 2018, another Woodward Dream Cruise was held in Oakland County, Michigan, and along Woodward Avenue between Ferndale (Michigan) and Pontiac (Michigan), and it was an event in which thousands of old cars, such as 1955 Chevys, are put on display, and, once again, WXYZ-HD, Channel 7.1, put a two-hour show on the air about the event.  The show was The 2018 Woodward Dream Cruise, the main hosts for which were Carolyn Clifford and Dave LewAllen (the latter of whom got his first hosting job for the event).  Near the end of the two-hour presentation, the show passed along a little information about the 70th anniversary for Channel 7, which was started up in October 1948.  The segment about the history had one big error.  It was noted (through Dave LewAllen as narrator) that, in the early days of the station, people watched Soupy Sales on a daily basis on Lunch with Soupy Sales.  That is wrong!  It seems to me the makers of the segment probably got wrong information from some book or whatever that had been written by Tim Kiska, a so-called Detroit television historian, whom I have shown over the years to be highly defective.  Lunch with Soupy Sales was never a daily show.  Lunch with Soupy Sales was a Saturday-only show that began on Channel 7 on Saturday, October 3, 1959, and it was produced in the 1959-1960 season at Channel 7, and it was seen on ABC-TV, too.  By the way, ABC-TV owned Channel 7 at the time.  For the 1960-1961 season, the show started to run again on a weekly basis on Saturday, December 3, 1960, and it was produced in California and was seen on ABC-TV and on WXYZ-TV [Note: Soupy Sales had left Detroit.].  In the 1950s, Soupy Sales did a number of programs for WXYZ-TV, and his midday shows for weekdays were--Noon Time Comics and 12 O'Clock Comics.  Soupy Sales had no weekday show called Lunch with Soupy Sales in the 1950s on WXYZ-TV.  I note that Lunch with Soupy Sales was the second series that Soupy Sales had on ABC-TV.  The first series that Soupy Sales had on ABC-TV was produced at WXYZ-TV and was aired by WXYZ-TV on weekdays at 6:00 p.m. (Detroit time) between July 4, 1955, and August 26, 1955, and that show, which ran 15 minutes, was Soupy Sales.
[Note: In the next edition of Television History and Trivia, I shall have more information that shows the useless of From Soupy to Nuts!, focusing on the local television series called Detroit Tube Works (Tim Kiska screwed up).]

Here would be a good time to put in dancing girls--real cuties, women, who are showing a lot of skin--because a break from the crap would be nice, but I have to go on and show information about more crap, especially high-level shit-head people who go beyond the rotten natures of Brian Dickerson and Mitch Albom.  On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, I happened to turn on the television set and run through the channels--then I had to stop at NBC-TV, because Lester Holt was hosting an NBC News Special Report, which had at least three reporters (Daniel Goldman, Hallie Jackson, and Chuck Todd).  The special programming interrupted what stations associated with NBC-TV normally would have on, such as, in relation to Channel 4.1., WDIV-HD, Rachael Ray's syndicated weekday program, which was supposed to be showing on the screen.  The special news program came off as a propaganda spectacle, and it was about a plea bargain tied to Michael Cohen.  Hold it!  I have to make an aside here.  A plea bargain is where a person decides to plead guilty to something-or-other, and what he pleads guilt to may or may not actually be something that he can be prosecuted for in court.  A plea bargain is not a court decision, which in future times could be used in other court actions.  A prosecutor can put in things for the person to plead guilty to that would never stand up in court or get to court.  Do you understand?  Also what a person pleads guilty to--the actual details--can end up being kept silent from the public; that is, the public may never learn what were the things the person was pleading guilty to--it is not a court case that can be a part of public record.  A person may plead guilty to some things so that other potentially bad things can be left off the plead-guilty list of things by the prosecutor.  On August 21, 2018, the main media people who can be defined as supporters of communism and socialism--and that covers most of the persons working in the main media at television networks and newspapers--went crazy (as I saw it) talking about what Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to.  Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to some tax things--and the tax things had nothing to do in any way with U.S. President Donald Trump.  It was reported wildly by media press people over the next days after the plea bargain that been made public knowledge that Michael Cohen was pleading guilty in relation to so-called political-campaign violations related to Donald Trump while Donald Trump was running to be the next U.S. President.  Let me look at some of the crap that the press passed along.  The main media people worked to make it seem that U.S. President Donald Trump was involved in campaign violations.  That work by the press was highly rotten.  For one, it was clear that Donald Trump did indeed pay money to two women so that the women would keep quiet about possible sexual dealings with Donald Trump in the past--when he was not yet the U.S. president--such as in 2006 (in relation to a woman called Stephanie Clifford (a.k.a. Stormey Daniels)).  Money was paid to the two women as a part of what are called a "non-disclosure agreements"--things that are commonplace and used to get people keep quiet about things, such as company policy things or product things or whatever.  In the case of the two women, they were to keep quiet about possible sexual dealings with Donald Trump.  History shows that Michael Cohen actually was instrumental in paying the money out--and the funds had no ties to campaign money, such as money donated to Donald Trump's political campaign--and, in the end, Donald Trump actually used his money to reimburse what was paid to the two women.  Unlike U.S. President Bill Clinton's sexual scandal, which had ties to him while he was the U.S. president, such as in relation to Monica Lewinsky, Donald Trump's so called sexual dealings had nothing to do with him while he was a U.S. president and had nothing to do with anything illegal.  By the way, U.S. President Bill Clinton's problems were tied to a "civil court case"--not a "criminal court case"--against him, and U.S. President Bill Clinton--when in office--lied to a federal judge, and that, for instance, led to him having to suffer penalties, such as loss his law license.  "Non-disclosure agreements--these are not illegal, and in the case of Donald Trump, any money tied to the "non-disclosure agreements" had no ties to campaign money.  The main media people worked hard to give the impression that the payment of money was illegal, and main media people, Democrats (especially high-level Democrats), and others who were rotten pressed the issue that U.S. President Donald Trump should be "impeached" for paying the money.  It was all crap, and it is crap!  Hold it!  "Impeachment" of a U.S. president goes through a process involving the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.  Paying money out in relation to non-disclosure agreements is not an "impeachable" offense, and, anyway, in Donald Trump's case, Donald Trump was not a U.S. president when the so-called sexual things took place and when the money was paid.  In another matter, main media people pushed out the idea that by paying the money Donald Trump was working to influence the election, but I note that the argument is defective.  For one, there are a billion ways to influence an election, and one way is through talk, such as through advertising, talk shows, debates, et cetera, and almost all are legal.  Paying someone to change votes of ballots or paying someone to hide ballots and paying for similar things is influencing elections in a way that is criminal and bad.  By the way, a candidate can lie regularly about any opposing candidates to influence an election, and that is not considered criminal.  On Wednesday, August 22, 2018, the opening of the NBC-TV show entitled Megyn Kelly Today (a weekday morning show) had a roundtable discussion--I used "discussion" very liberably--hosted by Megyn Kelly (who has been anti-Donald Trump for a long time and who has shown herself to be rotten), and she was host to Katie Phang, Dan Goldman, and Steve Kornacki, and the four gave the impression that the plea-bargain agreements related to payoffs to the women showed something illegal on the part of U.S. Donald Trump--the four persons passed along crap.
And that is enough of that (though I could show other shows in which people passed along nonsense related to the topic of the payments).  Keep in mind--If you came across other media people pushing the same nonsense about the payments, you came in touch with rotten people.  And if you still read, hear, or see people pushing the nonsense about the payments, you are coming in touch with rotten people.

I here have to pass along some thoughts that can make you determine the worthiness of a particular television journalist or commentator, such as one on local political shows in Detroit, such as Flashpoint (on WDIV-TV, Channel 4.1), MI Week (on WTVS-TV, Channel 56.1), and Let It Rip! (on WJBK-TV, Channel 2.1).
Hey, I have to look at the FBI and the CIA first--particularly former heads, James Comey (formerly of the FBI) and John Brennan (formerly of the CIA).  A U.S. president can fire anyone in the Executive Branch of the federal government for any reason since the U.S. president heads the Executive Branch--alone--and Donald Trump fired James Comey as the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; James Comey had been one of the persons instrumental in blocking a real investigation related to Hillary Clinton's violating the Espionage Act, and yet people pushed the idea that Donald Trump fired James Comey so that Donald Trump could help hide something illegal that he [Donald Trump] had done.  Try this!  John Brennan said in 2016--"This was back in 1980, and I thought back to a previous election where I voted, and I voted for the Communist Party candidate." [Levitz, Eric.  "CIA Director Reveals He Was Once a Communist Sympathizer." nymag.com, 22 September 2016.].  People, such as on television shows, have praised both James Comey and John Brennan, though proof exists to show both men are anti-The United States Constitution [Note: Communism, like socialism, is a political system that in not compatible with The United States Constitution.], and because John Brennan was at odds with Donald Trump (a non-communist and non-socialist), John Brennan--not wanting to work with Donald Trump--left the position as the head of the CIA right before Donald Trump took the job of the U.S. president.. People who praise John Brennan and James Comey in any amount are people to look at as your enemies.  [Note: If I would have become the U.S. president in January 2017, I would have fired John Brennan.  I guess a young man could error and vote for a communist--young people can often be stupid on political matters--but John Brennan thought it was good to mention that he did once vote for a communist candidate, and to announce that, John Brennan probably thought he could gain favor with the communists and socialists at the time that the 2006 comment was made, and that shows rottenness.  A better person would have been angry with the self for having voted for a communist years ago, and the person would have tried to keep the information unsaid.]
On August 22, 2018, the Detroit Free Press passed along the fake story about Michael Cohen's plea agreement, and the newspaper did it in an article entitled "Pair of legal blows slam Trump camp" [Schouten, Frederka, and John Fritze and Richard Wolfe.  "Pair of legal blows slam Trump camp."  Detroit Free Press, 22 August 2018, pp. 1A and 8A.].  The newspaper worked to give the impression that the payments to the women were illegal; for instance, one part of the story was--"...'This is a real crime,' said Larry Noble, a former Federal Election Commission lawyer who is now senior director of the non-profit Campaign Legal Center.  'Since modern campaign-finance laws were passed, no sitting president has been found to be involved personally in a campaign-finance violation.'...." and "...But Cohen's plea deal implicating Trump could be the basis for impeachment should Democrats seize the House majority in November, Noble said....".  The impression given by the article was fake news and propaganda.  The whole thing was based on something that was not illegal.  [Note: On Saturday, August 25, 2018, in the evening, I went to the website for the Campaign Legal Center.  The entity pushed the idea that is was a "non-partisan" entity working to make democracy better.  Yet, my analysis shows that is crap.  For instance, on the main page, there was a photograph of a man called "Steve" with two other persons, and I knew "Steve" was Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (of CBS-TV), and I knew Stephen Colbert is a so-called comedian who supports communism and socialism.  In addition, I  saw that the entity has bases at Washington, D.C., and Chicago.  Chicago, for instance, is a communistic-city, whose mayor is a close associate to Barack Hussein Obama.  Also, on the website, I saw crap about voting rights, and it is a theme often taken up by socialists and communists to weaken the voting rules in the country.  The Campaign Legal Center is rotten!  By the way, if I were to track down the backgrounds of the people on the "board" of the entity and others in management, I would probably find the people are rotten as a rule.  Those who praise people tied to the Campaign Legal Center should be seen as your enemies.]
Hey, try this!  In March 2017, the U.S. Attorney General--Jeff Sessions--recused himself from anything tied to the investigation about Russians influencing the election of 2016 and about maybe Russian colluding with Donald Trump to influence the election, and that led to the U.S. Assistant Attorney General's getting the Robert Mueller set up as a special investigator of the fake Trump/Russia thing.  And then on August 22, 2018, Jeff Sessions made it public that--"Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations."  The country has so many laws that no one can know them all--it is impossible. That makes is easy for rotten prosecutors to find something--anything--to put in a charge against a person who was unaware any law was broken by the person.  However, some laws are well known, especially by those in management positions of the federal government, such as the office of the U.S. Secretary of State.  And yet no one, such as a high-ranking person in the U.S. Department of Justice, is pushing an investigation in to Hillary Clinton, though news stories do show there is something to investigate.  But remember Jeff Sessions's idea of not acting on a political basis.  I say that the attack on Donald Trump by people associated with federal investigations and law enforcement are doing their work spurred on by political reasons.  Faced with corruption within the U.S. government that is visible, Jeff Sessions does nothing.  You should see people who support Jeff Sessions as bad and your enemy.
Oh, the worthiness idea can also be applied to politicians.

A CBS News Special Report, on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at about 8:32 p.m. (Michigan time) interrupted a preseason football game broadcast on CBS-TV to mention that U.S. Senator John McCain (who called himself a "Republican" but acted like a "communist," such as, for one, by stopping through vote the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (or "Obamacare")) died earlier in the day, and then, during the half-time for the game, more time was wasted on the rotten man, using Reena Ninan as the anchor, and, for instance, the reporter (Nancy Cordes) who did the actual story called U.S. Senator John McCain a  "maverick politician," the reporting done to sell John McCain as good.  [Oh, why was U.S. Senator John McCain considered a "maverick"?  He became known that for siding regularly against the "Republican Party" and siding with the "Democratic Party" on issues--that is, he sided often with the socialists and communists and progressives and Shariaists, all of whom are rotten people].  I would have rather seen a report on the cheerleaders of the two teams playing in the football!  Instead, I had to put up with a story of a killer of minds--U.S. Senator John McCain, who died of brain cancer or a brain defect.  John McCain was a defective, a person to forget!
[Note: I suggest you see the article entitled "The Day John McCain Got Shot Down Did He Show the Right Stuff?" which is tied to "Zalin Grant's War Tales."  The article was written by Zalin Grant.  The website is pythiapress.com.  Based on the information provided in the document by Zalin Grant, I can say that John McCain seemed to be a screw-up right from a young age.]

The people that show up at the funeral of a big-name person can show the true nature of the big-name person.  I have shown through the website known as The Hologlobe Press that John McCain was a supporter of communism (and I say that despite what others say).  When John McCain ran as a Republican Party candidate for the U.S. presidency, going against Barack Hussein Obama, John McCain had Sarah Palin (of Alaska) as his vice-presidental running mate. Sarah Palin was and is an anti-communist.  Public information shows that Sarah Palin was not welcome at events tied to John McCain's funeral.  His funeral was on Saturday, September 1, 2018.  On Friday, August 31, 2018, the funeral for (singer) Aretha Franklin was held in Detroit at the Greater Grace Temple.  Channel 4.1, WDIV-TV, ran 10 hours and 30 minutes of coverage of the event, which started at 9:00 a.m. (Detroit time).  I watched part of the event (so that I could make a card for my files about the show); I list the show as Aretha Franklin: The Queen of Soul 1942-2018.  Look at some of the so-called prominent people who showed up and were often seen on camera--Bill Clinton (a former U.S. president and a pusher of communism and socialism), Hillary Clinton (a former U.S. Secretary of State, a pusher of hard-line communism, and a violator of the U.S. Espionage Act), Eric Holder (a former head of the U.S. Department of Justice and a black communist at least), Al Sharpton (a black racist), Louis Farrakhan (a high-level black racist and the head thug of the Nation of Islam, a militant group), and Reverend Jesse Jackson (a black racist) [Note: There were other rotten people at the event.].  Oh, at about 6:00 p.m. (Detroit time), I caught the Reverend Jasper Williams talking about the "black" family and how, in essence, it is a mess as a rule, but he did not put the main blame on such people as those listed by me in the previous sentence (maybe afraid to or unaware of the real causes of the destruction of blacks in the country)--black communists and socialists not only hurt "whites" but also "blacks" (and maybe blacks more than whites because blacks are more likely to follow the crappy blacks willingly for sake of race, and the proof is in the last five decades or more).  [Note: Most of the singing that I caught during the program--I missed a lot--was not good, because it was yelling singing, which tries to show the proof of great emotion and deep feelings through volume mainly, and it a type of singing that is irritating to my ear and mind.]  By the way, Barack Hussein Obama could not show up for Aretha Franklin's funeral since he was scheduled to be at John McCain's funeral.  I state--Barack Hussein Obama is a highly rotten man--a shit-head man.
[Note: During Aretha Franklin The Queen of Soul 1942-2018, while Rod Meloni (of Channel 4.1) was doing a report live from Seven Mile Road at about 7:10 p.m., a sexy black gal walked by Rod Meloni and got on screen for a few seconds.  I wonder what she would look like in a summer cotton dress with a high hem line and a low-cut front or in a gown.  I could see her showing up in swimsuits in beauty contests, if there were any around.]

On September 7, 2018, a truly ugly mind was on display nationally, such on C-SPAN, and the mind was that within the head of Barack Hussein Obama, who gave a speech at the University of Illinois (a Urbana, Illinois) that day.  The speech was another collection of lies and illogic and idiocy and foolishness and unexplainable groups of words and platitudes.  By the way, I spent eight years showing up Barack Hussein Obama's speeches and talks of idiocy while he was the U.S. president, and I am well aware his mind is defective and evil, and you can see what I wrote about in many documents available at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  This time, the speech from Barack Hussein Obama pushed out such uselessness as you [the young people in the audience] are the most diverse generation in history and people are trying to get rid of voting rights for blacks and the U.S. is cozying up to Russia.  Barack Hussein Obama said--"...We've lurched from eras of great progressive change to periods of retrenchment....".  That means, for one, the country has gone from his communistic ways (progressive ways of idiocy and such) to today's following the ways of The U.S. Constitution, which is anti-communistic, which is something that Barack Hussein Obama dislikes.  Barack Hussein Obama said--"...And then the reckless behavior of financial elites triggered a massive financial crisis, ten years ago this week, a crisis that resulted in the worst recession in any of our lifetimes and caused years of hardship for the American people, for many of your parents, for many of your families....".  That collection of words is bullshit from a shit-head mind.  The recession was caused by federal-government laws related to home loans and mortgages, such as laws forcing financial institutions to give home loans to people who were very likely to default--it was federal-government policy that had been pushed into law by Democrats.  And Barack Hussein Obama pushed out--"...And by the time I left office [as the U.S. president], household income was near its all-time high and the uninsured rate had hit an all-time low and wages were rising and poverty rates were falling...."  That is a lie and bullshit; for one, the number of people of food stamps had risen greatly.  When I watched the speech, it looked as if Barack Hussein Obama was tired and aloof (when he was looking up and off to the side, as if hearing applause that was not really there).  The speech was boring and uninspiring, and Barack Hussein Obama had many long pauses that helped slow the presentation and drag down the presentation.  I could put more about the speech in this document--showing the crap that it was--but that is enough of that, given there are other topics to cover [Note: There are other evil people to beat up on orally and verbally in this document.].
[Note: By the way, I promote hate against Barack Hussein Obama, a killer of minds and an good people--black, white, green, red, orange, brown, tan, pink....  There is a sick mind in the head of Barack Hussein Obama, teaching idiocy to the young.  Yet, although Barack Hussein Obama talks in idiotic terms and puts out flap doodle and unclear meanings and ideas, people think Barack Hussein Obama is smart, and people thought Barack Hussein Obama should be given the power to decide their lives through laws and rules, such as their health.  It is amazing!.]

Announcement: I have several new documents on the Internet--at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  One document is entitled "Indigenous Peoples Day"--It is Not Deserved and Should Not Exist.  It can be reached by using this Indigenous link.  Another document is entitled Black-Racist U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson (a Democrat related to Florida) Shits on a Killed U.S. Soldier--Army Sergeant La David Johnson (a Black Man), which can be reached through this Frederica Wilson.  In relation to Frederica Wilson, you should see the video on YouTube entitled "John Kelly's EMOTIONAL White House Press Briefing 10/22/2017", which was posted on October 19, 2017, and it runs 21 minutes.  Yet another document is entitled The United States of America is Not "Healthy" Anymore and Never Will Be Again--Stupid Americans by the Millions and Rotten Politicians Like Having the Federal Government in Charge of Health Care, When It Should Never Be, which can be reached through this Not Healthy link.  Also I put a document that is under construction (at the time this document was published on the Internet) at the website for The Hologlobe Press so that I could show the documents listed in the bibliography (and it has a tie-in with this document), and that document is informally called A Collage of Corrupt, which can be reached through this Collage link.

In the past--in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s--it was easy to find beauty contests broadcast on television, and the beauty contests featured women or girls, and the contests were national contests or local contests.  For a few years in the 1960s, people in the Detroit area were offered "Miss Detroit Teen Queen" contests on television, and such contests showed off young women of the Detroit area (though not in swimsuits).  For instance, here were the finalists for the August 1964 contest, which was broadcast on WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, on August 29, 1964--Nadine Erdman (of Bloomfield Hills), Cheryl Madaras (of Livonia), Barbara Dillon (of St. Clair Shores), Judith Reich (of Huntington Woods). Karen Kernodle (of Detroit), June Eden (of Dearborn Heights), Kathy Jo Baker (of Flat Rock), Bonnie O'Neil (of Detroit), Mari Jo Rogers (of Royal Oak), and George Shreve (of Detroit).  Hey!  Pay attention!  George Shreve was not a male or a boy and was not a transvestite or transsexual.  I can say that there were four of the Miss Detroit Teen Queen events (or Miss Teen Queen events) broadcast.  The first show was seen on Channel 7 on Saturday, August 24, 1963, and the third was broadcast on Channel 7 on August 22, 1965, and the fourth was broadcast on Channel 7 on August 21, 1966.  It looks as if the "Miss Detroit Teen Queen" event (or "Miss Teen Queen" event) got started in the late 1950s, but it did not come to television till 1963.  I have found no show for 1967 or for any year after 1967.  In July 1967, the Detroit riots took place, and it looks as if the riots helped kill the Miss Detroit Teen Queen events.  Incidentally, Edythe Fern Melrose was the first host for the series of shows, and Dave Prince (a Detroit-area disc jockey) hosted the final show.

Since the 1960s, a big reason beauty contests related to women and girls have become rare occasions is the people upholding and pushing the "Feminist Movement"--communistic and socialistic women and girls--have killed most of them.

In June 2018, a program called Firing Line with Margaret Hoover began to be seen on PBS-associated television stations in the country (the weekly show started out on June 2, 2018, on WNET-HD, and a few weeks later, it ended up with national distribution).  The program is a political show, and the producers of the show note that the show has no connection to the old Firing Line, which was hosted by William F. Buckley Jr., an anti-communist and anti-socialist.  It is said that Margaret Hoover is a "conservative," but I question that, given she has ties to the "Bush" family, which is made up of people who often promote socialistic ways for government.  I finally saw an episode of the series on Sunday, August 12, 2018, though as a repeat on the World channel (while I was in the Detroit area), and the guest on the program was Gretchen Carlson.  On the credits, I saw that Margaret Hoover is one of the executive producers of the program, and Tom Yellin is another executive producer.  Tom Yellin has been around for a number of decades, such as a producer at ABC News working with Peter Jennings (a socialist who started out as a Canadian citizen).  The co-executive producer of the program was Sujata Thomas (a woman), who has worked closely with Freed Zakaris (such as of Freeda Zakaris GPS), whom I have shown in the past is a communist-type and promotes crap.  Wendy Roth was the senior producer, and Ann Benjamin was the director, and Emily B. Cyr was the was the associate producer, and Melanie Starling was the booker, and Lea Darley was the associate director.  Basically, Firing Line with Margaret Hoover is a show controlled and put on by women.  On the episode that I caught, as I have noted, the guest was Gretchen Carlson, who--it is said--is a "conservative."  To me, Gretchen Carlson's being a "conservative" is suspect.  Did you hear this news?  Around the time I published the previous edition of Television History and Trivia, news reports were being pushed out that eleven former Miss Americas were calling for Gretchen Carlson to leave her job as the head of the Miss America franchise or event.  Remember--Miss America has dropped, for one, the swimsuit feature of Miss America.  To me, the dropping of the swimsuit feature makes it easier for transsexuals to become contestants in the Miss America event, and I think that is crap, and I also think the dropping of the swimsuit feature is another step in making women not look like women, and it takes away the idea of women setting a standard to young women on how to look not like men.  [Note: The Miss America contest is also a way in which women can show themselves off to potential mates, and so goes mating in the world.]  On Firing Line with Margaret Hoover, Gretchen Carlson pushed forth that is was good that, for one, the swimsuit feature is gone.  Incidentally, Margaret Hoover is married to John Avion, a news reporter who is tied to CNN, the communistic/socialistic news service.

Again I report--Why should I watch Miss America programs?

Hey, here is something.  Some NFL teams are hiring male cheerleaders this season--"a first."  Will that not make you turn into the football games on television?  Already, the female cheerleaders are rarely seen on the television set, and when they are seen, they are seen from a great distance or for only very short moments, during which a person can barely see them.  If I were to make watching football games on television better, I would--for each game--use a couple minutes to do a run down of the cheerleaders for each team, showing them well.  Hey, female viewers already can oogle the male football players' bodies, such as their butts.  The female cheerleaders have been left out of the picture for years.  [That is discrimination!]  The time to show the female cheerleaders would block out some useless comments about how to win the game by commentators and players (they often ramble on about fluff).  Of course, with the NFL adding males to the cheerleader squads, there will probably be transgenders and gays on the screen soon.  And that will mean more idiocy will come to the television screen.  Keep the males off the squads!  Show the real females--legs, hips, breasts, hair styles, faces!

Hold it!  On the week of Monday, August 27, 2018, I learned one of the hosts for the Miss America event on television was going to be Ross Mathews, a gay guy.

I want to see women--shapely and elegant women--on Miss America, and if there is a male host, that male host should be non-gay.  Gays can get their own shows, shows not related to heterosexual mating.  To let you know--I like to see women who walk like women and not like big male truckers.  I say that the women that I want to see make good examples for young women, showing the younger women how to talk and walk like women and not like fat male plumbers.  In public, I rarely see women moving like women of years ago, and I miss that.

There once was a time when Detroit-area gals could compete to be "Sally Seven" or "Sunny Seven" on WXYZ-TV, and that time was in the 1960s--the decade when "feminism" (followed by dumb-ass women) really started to work to shut down the woman being a feminine woman in the United States of America.  ["Sally" and "Sunny" will probably be a topic in a future edition of Television History and Trivia.]

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in September 2018): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned).  I note that Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph.  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten--beholden to communism and socialism and Sharia (Islamic law)--and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]

On August 13, 2018, Gary Miles--the managing editor of The Detroit News--was a guest on the Detroit-based radio program on WJR-AM called The Frank Beckmann Show, and the topic that Frank Beckmann and Gary Miles was focusing on was a call by the Boston Globe to have newspapers--runners of editorial pages really--push out articles about freedom of the press on Thursday, August 16, 2018, in relation to U.S. President Donald Trump's so-called attacks on the press.  To me, Gary Miles sounded like a mush-head; he pushed out several pieces of nonsense.  Gary Miles hinted that the press--particularly The New York Times--broke the news about Hillary hClinton's emails to the public and the Harvey Weinstein's supposed sexual misdealings.  [Note: You are urged to see the previous edition of T.H.A.T., because it covers more on the subject of the press, focusing on an article done by Mitch Albom.]  I state--So what, if the press reported on Hillary Clinton's emails and Harvey Weinstein?  In a way, the press people like those at The New York Times were sort of pushed into talking about the two events, because it was clear the two stories were going to get pushed out somewhere--the stories were too big to hide.  Anyway, the Hillary Clinton emails (the scandal involving thousands of emails) and Harvey Weinstein's scandal are not directly related to the press people's poor reporting and misreporting related to U.S. President Donald Trump.

I note here that there have been changes in the broadcast-channel universe in the Detroit area.  All the channels tied to WUDL-TV (the lower-power television station)--except one channel--are now tied to selling things.  There are no entertainment channels of the seven channels of WUDL-TV's group of channels (the channels make up the "Channel 19" family of channels).  One channel--19.2--has religious programming, and it is stuff from the SBN network.   The changes for the Channel 19 group were made recently.  There has been a change with Channel 33.  On August 3, 2018, the managers of Channel 33 began to call the station (unofficially) WHPS-TV; the station had been known as WHPR-TV (officially) and W33BY (officially).  Channel 33, WHPS-TV, has four channels, two of which are only audio channels (33.2 for WHPR-FM and 33.3 for WVIE-FM), and Shop LC is on Channel 33.4, and the main channel is WHPS-TV proper.  Something seems to be going on with Channel 40.  For a number of months, I have been unable to get much of anything on Channel 40--what I have often been getting is no audio and a black screen on Channel 40.3 and Channel 40.4, and there has been no Channel 40.1 and Channel 40.2, and that is odd (Channel 40.1 and Channel 40.2 disappeared some weeks ago when Channel 40.3 and Channel 40.4 showed up).  On Friday, August 17, 2018, something was finally showing on Channel 40.3 when I tuned in at about 9:30 a.m. (Detroit time), and what I saw was a black-and-white episode of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (the old 1960s television series), so something seems to be going on with the Channel 40 group yet, even though I often cannot see it on the screen.  There has been a change with Channel 62.2.  Decades (a network) is gone from that channel.  Channel 62.2 no carries a network called "Start TV" (which is an odd name to me), and "Start TV" mostly airs somewhat old television series with casts headed by women, such as The Closer (which had Kyra Sedgwick), The Good Wife (which had Julianna Margulies), Cold Case (which had Kathryn Morris), The Division (which had Bonnie Bedelia), and Joan of Arcadia.  This channel is for women (it seems), and to me, it looks like a boring channel, having too much of the same plot stuff, focusing of a faux tough woman character (that from the minds of a lot of "liberals" in Hollywood)

On Saturday, August 18, 2018, I was able to see 40.3 on the television, such as in the nine o'clock hour in the morning, when, for instance, some Bugs Bunny cartoons were shown, and I was able to see The Lesson (with Dr. Glenn Plummer and Dr. Pauline Plummer) in the nine o'clock hour in the morning on August 19, 2018.  The Lesson is a Bible-related Sunday-school show, and on this show, Dr. Glenn Plummer passed along some nonsense.  For instance, Dr. Glenn Plummer worked to sell the idea that a person should "ever pay back evil with more evil."  I say--That is idiocy.  That is passive nonsense, which allows bad people to not be beaten down and allows bad people to flourish, especially when the bad people, such as socialists and communists, can end up hurting millions of persons.  Only a good man can beat down a bad man--there are no mythical beings or whatever to do the work; if the good man does nothing, the bad man continues doing crap to people.  Dr. Glenn Plummer's teachings, which included the idea of feeding the enemy if the enemy is hungry, were and are defective.
[Note: Around this time--around August 18, 2018--I was regularly hearing public service announcements on radio, such as WJR-AM, related to the "Kindness Revolution" (www.kindnessrevolution.net), which has roots tied to Ed Horrell.  The public service announcements were also passing along the nonsense of being nice to bad people.  In fact, to me, the "Kindness Revolution" is more of that everybody-should-get-along crap and everybody-should-be-nice-to-each other crap.  Near the end of one public service announcement that I heard, I heard this idea pushed forth--If you cannot find kind words to say, "be quiet."  I say--A good person should be kind to another person unless it is learned that the other person is bad--for example, if the other person is a socialist or communist (such as a rotten journalist, like Mitch Albom and Stephen Henderson), that other person deserves no kindness or respect or dignity.  A person only deserves dignity and respect and kindness when it is has been earned and when the person is not known to be tied to bad ways of life, such as socialism or communism.]

There are times when I think subchannel networks could be programmed a little better, and I think some of the subchannel networks are putting off some customers (viewers) or losing customers since the networks are running some more modern old television series (such as Will & Grace) that were leaders in the sinking of prime-time television for the broadcast networks.  What might be fun to see on a subchannel network is some of the old comedy shorts of Leon Error.  From early May 1961 to early August 1961, Channel 9, CKLW-TV, which was based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and across the Detroit River from Detroit, ran Leon Errol "shorts" on weekday evenings [Note: A few movies had been shown on television in the Detroit area with Leon Errol in the late 1950s.].  Generally speaking, Leon Error appeared in theatrical movies from the 1920s to 1951, the first of which were silent films, one of which was the 1925 film called Clothes Make the Pirate, which also featured Dorothy Gish (one of the famous Gish sisters).  Between 1933 and 1951--at least--Leon Errol made dozens of shorts for the movie-theater industry, and it seems many of the films shown by Channel 9 in 1961--under the umbrella title Leon Errol Comedy--were from that period.  By the way, in March 1918, Leon Error--who had started out as a stage actor--showed up in Detroit in a live stage revue called Hitchy-Koo (of 1918), which had Raymond Hitchcock as the main performer and had Irene Bordoni as a performer, and Leon Error may have first appeared in Detroit at The Gayety Theater (in The Grafters) in February 1908, appearing with "a host of girls" [Note: It was the time of "burlesque" comedy on stage and before the time of the "burlesque" with nude girls.].  It is possible to see some Leon Error "shorts" through Youtube.  Take a look for fun!

Hold it!   Stop!  Wait a minute!  On August 16, 2018, I wrote the previous paragraph--the one about Leon Errol--and it was done at about midday; in the morning, I had written the opening paragraph to this edition of Television History and Trivia and had done some television research, such as about Leon Errol.  Later on August 16, 2018, I watched an episode of Perry Mason on MeTV (Channel 4.3), starting at 11:30 p.m. (Detroit time), and then I watched a movie-history-themed program on Decades, starting at 12:30 a.m. (Channel 62.2).  Next, I tuned into Channel 14.6, which runs old movies, and an old movie was nearly done.  At about 1:10 a.m., I thought an infomercial was going to show up, my thinking that based on my knowing the usual format for the channel.  However, I got a surprise.  Channel 14.6 began to run a movie called Lord Epping Returns.  That is a movie "short" that was released to movie theaters on September 21, 1951.  The main performer was Leon Errol.  The film was harmless fun.  I note that Leon Error died on October 12, 1951, and about two months later, one more Leon Errol comedy was released to movie theaters, and it was Too Many Wives.  How is that for craziness?

I have to add this, though it is not directly related to television.  On Thursday, August 24, 2018, I was listening to The Frank Beckmann Program on WJR-AM, and there was a guest host--Sean Baligian.  The topic came up that U.S. Senator John McCain, who is highly ill, is discontinuing his medical treatment.  Sean Baligian pointed out that John McCain should be seen as a hero for, for example, what happened to him years ago as a U.S. military man during war.  I say--Sean Baligian. screwed up.  U.S. Senator John McCain's military record means nothing, given that since John McCain's days in the military he has highly hurt the country by pushing along socialism and communism in the country during his work as a U.S. Senator (though he has labeled himself a "Republican").  Anything that John McCain did decades ago while in the military has to be forgotten.  And Sean Baligian screwed up!  [Note: It is no wonder communists and socialists often win--those who so-call oppose them are often crappy in their attacks.]

And the last main topic is about a new series that is set for NBC-TV this season.  The series is called New Amsterdam, and it is about a hospital.  Remember--NBC-TV is a network that promotes socialism and communism in programs, even entertainment programs, and it is an entity that supports a medical system in which the government has the ultimate say-so in matters related to care for a patient.  I state--When a country has a medical system in which the government controls it completely, you have a shit country.  I caught an advertisement for New Amsterdam on television, and it talked about how the hospital in the series is one in which people do not have to pay.  That is communistic bullshit, trying to push the idea that medical care should be free, unlike everything else in life!  Someone always has to pay when things--even medical care--are so-called free; doctors, nurse, janitors, cooks, et cetera have to be paid, and equipment has to be bought and serviced, and more must be paid for, and when the government decides the payments, things get all screwed up in a collage of idiocy and confusion and mess and bloated oversight, and the government can determine who gets to die.  By the way, it is not my job to take care of you!  New Amsterdam promotes idiocy in life and is a political piece first and an entertainment piece second.  [When the government has complete control, there are no checks and balances on the government, and it must be remembered government people are usually rotten people, especially in the upper levels, where rules are made, and one proof of that is the creation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (as I am well aware).]

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link.  I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man."  For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President..  I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often and usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
