Annoucement

On Wednesday, March 19, 2014, I learned of something
that I had to pass along.  Through a story published on
the Internet by The Right Scoop and through an interview conducted by
Mark R. Levin of Walid Shoebat on the nationally syndicated radio
show called The Mark R. Levin Show (on March 19, 2014), I learned about
human slaughterhouses in Syria, in which radical Muslims (such as those
called members of the "Islamic Group of Iraq and Syria") have killed Christians
and even some Muslims, such as by beheadings, such as with swords, and about how
the killed persons are then hung up like dead cattle or pigs in the slaughterhouses.
To learn some of what I know, see the story entitled "UNBELIEVABLE:
Human Slaughter houses exposed in Syria with decapitated bodies
hanging like meat" (published on March 19, 2014) by The Right Scoop,
and visit the website called "www.walidshoebot.com," which has, for
one, the story entitled "Actual And Literal Islamic Human
Slaughterhouses For Christians Discovered" (by Walid
Shoebat and Theodore Shoebat), which was published
on March 17, 2014.  [You should also see my document
entitled Sharia Law, Shariah-Compliant Finance, Radical
Islam, and Barack Obama, which can be reached through
this Sharia link.]

Announcement

So did your favorite television newscast cover this story
about more rottenness in the Democratic Party (a.k.a., communist
party)?  On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, the FBI arrested a number of
people in California, one of whom was State Senator Leland Yee (a Democrat)
in relation to an FBI "sting" that exposed those involved in, for instance,
selling arms and weapons illegally, and, in the case of Leland Yee, the story involves
taking money in exchange for political influence, and the China mob in
San Francisco was involved in the rotten practices.  It is another
big example of the corrupt ways of the Democratic Party and Democrats, some of
whom within the somewhat recent past who have been shown to be highly
rotten are Marion Barry (a former the mayor of Washington, D.C.), Ray Nagin
(a former mayor of New Orleans), Kwame Kilpatrick (a former
mayor of Detroit), and Tony Mack (a former mayor of Trenton,
Pennsylvania).  By the way, the FBI recently caught Patrick Cannon
(a Democrat), while he was the mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, in a sting,
and, Detroiters, do not forget Monica Conyers (a Democrat, a former member
of the Detroit City Council, and the wife of communistic U.S. Representative
John Conyers).  ["Leland Yee pulls out of race for California's secretary

Announcement

Here, I must report yet another story that shows up
more of the rottenness of the Democratic Party in the United
States of America.  It is a factual news story--set in Pennyslvania--about
a three-year "sting" that caught Democratic Party politicians
taking bribes and about how the new Attorney General (Kathleen G. Kane) in
Pennsylvania, upon coming into office in 2013, halted the "sting"
operation and then decided not to make any prosecutions, citing, for
one, the "sting' was related to racism (given some of those
caught were blacks).  The story was reported in The Inquirer (Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania).  To learn more about this corruption,
see the article entitled "Kane shut down sting that snared
Phila. officials", which was written by Angela
Couloumsis and Craig R. McCoy and published
on March 17, 2014.  [I bet your favorite television newscast
probably did not report the important story to you--it
is the worst type of corruption by politicians.]

Announcement

Several years ago, people in Europe were hearing that they
had to, in essence, reduce the number of cattle in their countries
so that they could save the planet--cows, when they fart, give off
methane, which people (or what I call "bad people") say is a part of the reason that
the planet in dying, and the reason is a part of the fake idea about manmade
climate change.  Well, on March 31, 2014, more crap information was published
about cows in a report (Climate Change), and it is another push by the
United Nations, which is controlled by communists and socialists
and other bad people, to get control of the United States and America and
other non-enslavist countries through international treaties related to
climate change.  One theme in Climate Change was that the world
had to get rid of more cows, who lead to climate change because of their
farting and because people eat cows and fart, giving off methane.
Yes, it is all more bullshit, which, as you shall see in this document, has ties
to PBS and WTVS-HD (Detroit).  [Resnick, Brian.  "It May Take
a Global Vegetarian Movement to Combat Climate Change."

Announcement

I note the some of the high-ranking members of the Republican Party
are communists or socialists, and some of the rotten men are U.S. Senator
John McCain and U.S. Representative John Boehner.  Jeb Bush is another
rotten high-ranking Republican, who often shows his support for rotten
political ideas--those supported by Democrats.  On Sunday, April 6, 2014,
Jeb Bush showed the public once again why he would be a terrible choice to
be the U.S. President, showing it through statements made in public.
One thing that he said was about illegal aliens coming into the country
was--"...Yes, they broke the law, but it's not a felony...."  Here, Jeb Bush is
pushed aside the idea about breaking the law!  (Actually, this instance about
breaking the law is a misdemeanor and not a felony, but it is an illegal act.)
That statement from Jeb Bush is the sign of an idiot man and an idiot thinker!
After presenting the previous idea, he said, about why illegal aliens coming to
this country, such as to provide for families--"...It's a, it's a, it's a, it's an act of
love, it's an act of commitment to your family...."  So, using what I see as
Jeb Bush's idiot logic, I say--So, Jebby, because people are entering the
country illegally as the result of an "act of love," we should let the people
stay in the country, or we should have no limits on who enters the
country, especially if they enter the country based on an "act of love"
to provide for family, and it means everyone should be welcomed at any
time and everyone--everyone--should be allowed to enter the country
illegally, and that means we should have no borders to the country.  No
country can survive as a viable country when such defective immigration
policy is practiced--the country becomes nothing more than
a mass of land with no controls, such as on who is a citizen and who is
not a citizen and who may vote and who may not vote.

- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 120 - - -

The introduction for this edition of Television History and Trivia has two purposes.  One purpose is to simply give an introduction that is not like that which I have done in the introduction of the previous 119 editions of Television History and Television.  The other purpose is to show off some history about Detroit television history that I have found over the years, and the information that I present about Detroit television history has been gathered while spending a lot of hours sitting in front of a microffilm reader at the main branch of the Detroit Public Library (the City of Detroit) or in front of a microfilm reader at the Purdy/Kresge Library at Wayne State University, Detroit, where I earned a BA degree related to radio-television-film, and the microfilm reels involved in the discussion were related to either The Detroit News or the Detroit Free Press (for the most part)--What I did, for instance, was go page by page through newspapes on microfilm reels tied to editions of the newspapers from 1946 to 1950.  While making this edition of Television History and Television, I looked back at "specials" that were broadcast in 1949, when the Detroit area viewers had only three television stations to watch--WWJ-TV (Channel 4), WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), and WJBK-TV (Channel 2).  I thought about talking about a broadcast by WWJ-TV from the Michigan State Fairgrounds (in Detroit) on September 3, 1949, during which horse and oxen pulling contests were shown, and I thought about covering a broadcast hosted by Jane Durelle on WWJ-TV on October 27, 1949, in which Jane Durelle interviewed people who were then drawing comics for The Detroit News, and I thought about presenting information about a program from WWJ-TV that covered the dedication of the Trenton Power Plant (Trenton, Michigan) on October 21, 1949, and I thought about passing along information about a program of March 11, 1949, in which the general manager of WWJ-TV--Harry Bannister--talked about, for one, why engineers thought the new television sets being manufactured for the marketplace at the time would last longer than past sets had.  Well, hold it!  I guess I have just passed along the information about the shows.  But, actually, I was going to make those shows the main focus of the introduction.  Then, I came across some information about two shows that I had to pass along.  On Friday, July 22, 1949, WWJ-TV broadcast (at 2:30 p.m.) a show that focused on the "New" Detroit Historical Museum, and it was a round-table-discussion show featuring George W. Stark, Fred D. Murphy, Dr. Alfred H. Whitaker, William E. Kapp, and Henry D. Brown.  The new museum came about in a time when Detroit was yet flourishing.  Today, the Detroit Institute of Arts is in trouble because of the bankruptcy of Detroit, and the Charles Wright Museum of African America History is in trouble, and, in essence, Belle Isle has been taken over by the State of Michigan as a state park.  Oh, yes, the Detroit Science Center was shut down for a bunch of months recently and then was opened up again under new control and a new name--the Michigan Science Center.  And while getting ready to write this document, I came across a television program in my Detroit-television-history section of my files that I had to pass along, too.  By the way, my Detroit-televisioin-history section of my files is made up of somewhere around 5,000 index cards with information about Detroit television shows, people, and schedules (I have not counted them).  On Thursday, September 1, 1949, WWJ-TV aired a one-shot program (meaning it was not an episode of a series or part of a television series) at 8:30 p.m. for 15 minutes, and the program--a filmed program--was called Detroit's Unfinished Business, and in it, people talked about what they think needs to be done to have a prosperous Detroit in the future.  It was not a comedy show!  And the joke is Detroit is bankrupt today--morally and financially.

And that completes the introduction to this edition of Television History and Trivia, which is dedicated though not in a good way to the management team of WTVS-TV, especially Fred Nahhat, Jeff Forster, and Rich Homberg, who it seems to me by being members of WTVS-HD are probably supporters of the Democratic Party way of life--"enslavism."  (Remember: The Democratic Party in the United States of America supports communism and Sharia law and black racists.)

Advertisement: In March 2009, a book called Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, which had been written by Mark R. Levin, was published.  Through the book, Mark R. Levin talks about how tyranny has been creeping into the country, and he also talks about how the country has been changing from a representative republic, which has a constitution as a basis, to something, yet to be defined, and although Mark R. Levin says that it is the statist who is causing the change, especially those who are a part of the Democratic Party and in government jobs, I say that it is communists, socialists, would-be dictators, and Marxists, such as Barack Obama, who are making the changes, such as by discarding The U.S. Constitution.  I urge you to see and read Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, and pass it on to others, especially teenagers and young adults (and consider listening to The Mark Levin Show, the nationally syndicated radio show, on a regular basis).

On January 25, 2014, I published on the Internet a document informally entitled T.H.A.T. #117 (which can be reached through this T.H.A.T. #117 link), and one part of that document was a review of a television special entitled Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television, which had been aired in the Detroit area for viewers for the first time on December 2, 2013, by WTVS-HD, Channel 56.1 (Detroit Public Television).  On February 23, 2014, I wrote to the Mr. Rich Homberg (the President and CEO) and the Board of Trustees at Detroit Public Television; the message was an email message.  Soon after the message was sent, I received responses to the email message, which was really in the form of a formal letter.  This part of T.H.A.T. #120 focuses on the correspondence events related to Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television.

I begin by presenting the letter that I sent to WTVS-HD on February 23, 2014, but I have corrected a couple typos (if you have not seen my review of Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television, you should see it now):

Date: February 14, 2014

To: Mr. Rich Homberg, President and CEO,
        and the Board of Trustees,
        Detroit Public Television

From: Victor Edward Swanson, publisher
          The Hologlobe Press

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am finally getting around to sending this report.  On December 2, 2013, WTVS-HD, Channel 56.1, aired for the first time a television special called "Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television," the production of which was guided by Mr. Tim Kiska and Mr. Michael Collins.

I report that it was a bad production, and I am able to report that by having the skill to do that--I am a television historian who has, for example, collected some 150,000 index cars with information about television, which I have been collecting since 1972.  I watched the program, and I found history problems with the production and other things that make me define the program as bad.  Right from the beginning the program was bad--it noted that people in Detroit got exposed to television broadcasts for the first time in May 1946, noted that WWJ-TV got going in March 1947, and gave the impression that WXYZ-TV and WJBK-TV were experimenting with television broadcasts around 1946.  The truth is--WWDT (an experimental television station tied to "The Dertroit New") was put on the air on October 23, 1946, and showed off television to Detroiters for the first time, which took place as part of a convention of new products shown to consumers in Detroit, and, basically, from October 1946 to June 1947, the station was an experimental thing, even after a new transmitter was set up in April 1947, and then on June 3, 1947, WWJ-TV appeared officially (coming out of WWDT), and WXYZ-TV and WJBK-TV did not begin test broadcasts till 1948 and did not go on the air officially till late 1948.  Only one of the other problems with the television special is it did not look like a program that was designed to match the title, which include "The History of Detroit Television"--the program mostly seemed designed to focus on the old friends and favorite people in Detroit television of Tim Kiska, such as Ray Lane, Bill Bonds, Karrel Fox, Sonny Eliot, Bob Allison, Soupy Sales, and Bill Kennedy, almost all of whom have had a special dedicated specifically to them on television recently.  I say that a person upon seeing the program could not present an overview of what Detroit television history is or was.  It was a failed production.  (I discuss more about the program in my document called "T.H.A.T. #117", which is available at the web site for The Hologlobe Press, such as through The Site-Summary Page, www.hologlobepress.htm/summary.htm).  I do send you an abridged copy of "T.H.A.T. #117" with this letter ("kiska.htm"), which can be read with a web browser.  I see you are soon going to rebroadcast the special.

Sincerely,

Victor Edward Swanson, publisher

On February 24, 2014, I received a message from Mr. Jeff Forster (Executive Vice President) of Detroit Public Television, and here is the message:

Dear Mr. Swanson,

Thanks so much for your feedback on our program Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television.  I've shared your concerns with the producers of the program and we'll keep your comments in mind should we go back into production in the future with further content on this topic.  We appreciate your comments and your time viewing.

The letter from Mr. Jeff Forster was sent at 4:43 p.m. on February 24, 2014, and then at 7:06 p.m. on February 24, 2014, a message written by Mr. Fred Nahhat (a man often seen on the television screen for the station as a spokesperson) appeared in my email box, and the message (and the "this" in the opening of the message refers to my letter) was:

Seeing this now, it reminds me that Tim Kiska mentioned at time of air he has a serial complainer regarding his works and I think this maybe the guy; Not saying he's right or wrong about any of this, just saying Tim said he has a history of following Tim's works issuing counter opinions to Kiska's.

Fred

On Monday, February 24, 2014, at 10:46 p.m. I received another message in my email box, and it seemed to be a copy of something from Fred Nahhat that was sent to Jeff Forster (but I am not sure), and here is the message:

Nahhat, Fred would like to recall the message, "Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television".

Okay, let me take a close look at the messages that I received.  The first message was surely sent directly to me, and it has the feel of a "form letter," which could have been written by anyone at the station   The next message was not directly addressed to me.  I state that the message escaped from WTVS-HD, and I was not supposed to see it.  I note that the second message sounds "fishy" to me or rotten in relation to the part that is--"...it reminds me that Tim Kiska mentioned at time of air he has a serial complainer regarding his works and I think this maybe the guy...."  I state--You are going to try and convince me that Tim Kiska reported around the time that the program was set to air that he or the station was going to have a "serial complainer" show up?  Think about it.  I guess it is possible.  But I wonder.  And you can see that the third message was not addressed directly to me, and it looks as if it escaped from WTVS-HD, too.  While keeping in mind what I have said so far in the paragraph, you have to also keep in mind that the two last messages were sent out in what are considered non-business hours.  Oops, most certainly, somebody goofed and sent off two messages to me (considered a "serial complainer") that I was not supposed to see (maybe).  What is important is that I was deemed a "serial complainer," a set or words designed to discredit based on no facts, and be regarded as nothing more than a "serial complainer," and although the message had "...Not saying he's right or wrong about any of this....", there was no real concern brought up by the men to see whether or not I am right, and that shows some of the behind-the-scenes workings of people at WTVS-HD, and the two messages show off the nature of people at WTVS-HD, especially Jeff Forster and Fred Nahhat, and it is not good.  It seems "truth" be damned by these men!

By the way, I have never met Fred Nahhat.  For instance, I was not at Royal Oak Kimball High School, such as with the "Class of 1983," when it was possible to see so-called "students" in the parking lot during school time smoking cigarettes or smoking marijuana ("pot" or "dope").  Was not Fred Nahhat at Royal Oak Kimball High?

By the way, also, I have a bit of information tied to WTVS-TV that you should see.  On January 18, 1960, there was a meeting of people at Central Library (the Grosse Pointe area), and one of the persons, there, was Mrs. Katherine Lardie, who was the Director of Educational Television for Detroit Public Schools.  The event was covered by the Grosse Pointe News in an article for January 28, 1960 ("Pointe Scolded by TV Teacher."  Grosse Pointe News, 28 January 1960, p. 16.).  One part of the article was: "Mrs. Lardie predicted that children in poorer districts are likely to outstrip Grosse Pointe School pupils, particularly in languages and sciences, because their homes and their schools use Channel 56 the most."  I note that, today, it is estimated that about 60 percent of the adults in Detroit are functionally illiterate.  I see failure!

So let me get back to Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television specifically.  At the opening of the program, the production of which was guided by Tim Kiska and Michael Collins, it is noted that television broadcasting was introduced at a 50th anniversary celebration of the automobile in Detroit, but the best the producers of the television program could do was give the date as "May 1946," which means they did sloppy work in doing research or did not hunt down when the celebration really took place and what happened at the celebration.  The formal event took place on Friday, May 31, 1946, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit; the event included a parade of cars on streets in Detroit.  There was no television broadcasting done, because there was no television transmitter located anywhere in Detroit--the first television transmitter for television broadcasting was delivered (with Du Mont television engineers) on Sunday, October 20, 1946.

Oh, soon after The Detroit News (WWJ radio) demostrated television broadcasting through WWDT on October 23, 1946, The Detroit News (a.k.a. WWJ) promoted an idea in advertisements, such as in The Billboard (an entertainment trade magazine), that on November 15, 1946, WWDT was going to start short broadcasting events on mornings and afternoons, but the events never happened in November.  Around February 1946, The Detroit News had 24 billboards posted up around town--Detroit--that promoted that idea that, "this winter," WWDT would be doing more somewhat regular test television broadcasting.  It was not till March 4, 1946, that WWDT would really offer viewers--few though they would be--more test television broadcasts (the first show broadcast on March 4, 1946, was a visual broadcast of Coffee Club, which was a regular radio show aired on the NBC radio that originated from WWJ-AM, Detroit).

Incidentally, it was publicly announced in December 1945, that E.J. Love had been hired to be the technical director for WWJ-AM and WENA-FM and to be involved in setting up television operations, which then was only contemplated, and in May 1947, it was publicly announced that Thomas L. Riley had been hired to be the production manager for WWJ-TV (he had recently been in the NBC-TV home-office television department), and from the time WWJ-TV set up the film department to July 1948, Elaine Phillips (who had gotten into the television business in 1943 at KBKB-TV, Chicago) ran the film department at WWJ-TV (she had set it up), and I wonder what Elaine Phillips would say about the film entitled Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television.

Okay, the information in the previous paragraph I found in old newspaper articles, but I do not report the sources, but if I were taken to court in a court case against me, I could reach into my Detroit television history file--while on the stand--and show off the places from which I got the information.  There is a problem showing where I got information that shows off the rotten work of Tim Kiska and Michael Collins (and, in another case, the rotten work of Mike Fornes)--How do I get you to see the original sources?  I know that you--the reader--will not, for instance, go to the Purdy-Kresge Library (at Wayne State University) or the main branch to the Detroit Public Library and look at old microfilm reels of The Detroit News.  Hum.  Ah, I got it.  From home, you can see stories that were in the entertainment magazine called The Billboard (which is known as Billboard today), using your computer.  By the way, in the 1940s and 1950s, The Billboard covered television, because, for instance, radio-station owners were firing up television stations, and disc jockeys were doing television shows, something like American Bandstand (which was a big show for ABC-TV with Dick Clark for decades).  Go to your computer, and can call up "Billboard archives" (in an Internet search).  At the website for The Billboard (or Billboard), you can see old issues of the magazine and do word searches (though you can only search one magazine at a time, unlike what I was able to do several years ago, when I was sitting for something like eight hours straight in a day and looking at articles that were given to me through a single word-search call of blocks of magazines).  Find the issue for November 3, 1946, and go to page 30, and read the article entitled "Detroit 'News' Sneak Previews New Tele Outlet."  That article will show you when the first television broadcast event took place in Detroit.  (By the way, you can use "WWDT" as a search term for that edition, using the search feature in the website.)  Next, find the issue of The Billboard for March 15, 1957, and look at the article on page 11 called "WWDT's Test Debut Scores in Detroit."  By the way, when you look at articles, be aware of the "dateline" date of each, so you can understand when the story was reported and when things had happened.  Next find the edition of The Billboard for June 14, 1947, and see the article on page 13 entitled "WWJ-TV Starts Commercial Career With 12 Sponsors."  By the way, to find that story, you can use "WWJ" as search term.  And that covers that.

I think even Rich Homberg, Jeff Forster, and Fred Nahhat have the ability to follow the directions presented in the previous paragraph, which they might say come from a "serial complainer."

Incidentally, so far, I have seen at least 2,030 old newspaper article about The Mackinaw WAGB-83, which is now a museum at Mackinaw City, Michigan, and which was the topic of a rotten book written by Mike Fornes (as I have reported about in the past), and I am only talking about old newspaper articles, and I am still gathering articles.  Let make calculations.  Every old newspaper article that I have seen about the ship, some of which were found through sitting at microfilm machines, I have noted fully in my bibliography sections.  Geneally speaking, each entry takes up two lines of text or two lines on a piece of typing paper or computer paper.  When you multiply 2,030 by two (two lines for each article), you get 4,060 (or 4,060 lines of a bibliography).  If you divide 4,060 by 100 (100 lines on a page), you get 40 pages.  Oh, Tim Kiska's book informally called From Soupy to Nuts! had about 33 lines of text on a page, but I will use "50" in a calculation.  If you divide 4,060 by 50, you get about 81.  So my bibliography is at least 81 pages for my research about The Mackinaw WAGB-83.  I cannot even guess what my bibliography is for my television research, covering 40 years of work.

Boy, oh, boy, Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television was crap from start to finish, and the producers showed themselves to be crappy people by doing crappy reporting work, and the people at WTVS-HD who support the producers showed themselves to be bad people and crappy for supporting a crappy production and the crappy producers of the production!

[Hey, Richie, Jeffy, and Freddy, have you figure out what type of man I am?  I shall give you a hint.  I think Barack Obama is a piece of shit, and I would tell that to Barack Obama in person.  Yes, I think your precious little Barack Obama is a piece of shit of a man.  Understand?]

Here is a special note.  Tim Kiska is a professor involved in teaching communications-type stuff to students at the University of Michigan, Deaborn Campus.  Tim Kiska put together a rotten television program, and he gets to stand up in front of students, most of whom are probably hero worshipers, and be seen as some type of authority.  It is very unlikely he will report to his students the defectiveness of his television special about Detroit television history.  And people in general will think he has accomplished some wonderful feat and should be treated as wonderful.  No praise should be given.  In addition, given he works at the University of Michgian, he probably teaches the type of journalism that is practiced by NBC News, The New York Times, MSNBC, Los Angeles Times, CNN, Detroit Free Press, et cetera--push the socialistic and communistic way of life, which is that of "enslavism," in which a few rotten people, who lie regularly to keep people ignorant and have corrupt morals, get to practice violence on millions and coecion on millions and be serviced by the millions, who must live like worker ants in an "ant society."  Tim Kiska must be exposed for what he really is, and I am not done.

One of the regular programs aired on weekdays by WTVS-HD is Charlie Rose, which comes from PBS, and on Monday, April 1, 2014, Charlie Rose (the host of the program) helped pass along more crap about manmade climate change or manmade global warming through his program, getting help from a number of rotten people, such as Michael Mann (who has been shown to be rotten by being involved in "Climategate," which you can learn about by reading my document entitled "CAPE AND TRADE and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, which can be reached by using this Carbon link).  At one point in the program while the topic was climate change, Michael Oppenheimer (a man who is a professor at Princeton University and has been involved in pushing the faux climate-change idea tied to man using carbon-based fuels or using animals that fart methane for several decades) said--"...Every time one of these reports comes out, you convince a few more people who are dyed-in-the-wool opponents, but there's gonna be a hardcore who are never gonna cede on this, and there are complex reasons for that.  With some people, they just like to stand away from the crowd.  With some people, it's economic self-interests.  The point is you can't wait for everybody to agree.  You know, the climate change that we're experiencing now is essentially backed in--that is, we can't do much about what's gonna happen over the next ten or twenty years no matter what we do on emissions, except try to protect ourselves, try to have better coping and adapting mechanisms.  But if we don't act now in reducing emissions--a lot--there's gonna be hell to pay for particularly the next generation...."   Notice the tactic was to push fear and to get people (especially younger people) to do something and take up Michael Oppenheimer's cause--he was trying to convince the people in the next generations that they are doomed to great death if something is not done now.  Of course, you may not see the fear tactic being pushed.   So let me now present what Jeffrey Sachs (who is tied to the communistic entity of Columbia University called the "Earth Institute") said during the program--"...Every red light is flashing on food supply, on safety, on storms.  This is a disaster, the current trajectory.  When you  look at the time that we have to get this right, it's extremely short...."  Do you notice the pushing of fear?  Remember--It is publicly known people at the United Nations involved in reporting on the climate-change data and those persons who support those people at the United Nations are liars--they made up data and discounted data for the climate-change "models."  The whole thing about climate change and the so-called drying earth is based on "models," which are nothing more than guesses about what could happen over the next hundred years or so with the planet and weather.  Jeffrey Sachs also said--"...We're just at the end of being able to hold to the level that the world promised itself [about carbon]...."  By the way, keep in mind--Over the last forty years or so, the people who have been pushing the end-of-the-world thing (the lie) have been regularly changing the end-of-the-world dates (every time a deadline comes, and the earth does not go to hell, they change the date).  Jeffrey Sachs said then--"...I would say December 2015 is the last chance to keep that two-degree Centigrade limit!  If we miss it, it's gone!  Then, we're talking about something beyond anything safe!  Then, we're talking about horrible damages...."  Okay, let us examine what two men said in simple form--Jeffrey Sachs said that we only have till December 2015 to do something, and Michael Oppenheimer said that there is nothing that we can do now since the climate stuff that we are dealing with now is "...backed in...."  Do you see the idiocy from the two men?  It is idiot thought, and idiot logic.  It is all bullshit that the men passed along, and Charlie Rose (who also pushes crap regularly on CBS on weekday mornings) was involved.

WTVS-HD aired the crap from Charlie Rose and his guests on April 1, 2014, and that shows the nature of the people in charge of WTVS-HD, such as Rich Homberg, Jeff Forster, and Fred Nahhat.

Announcement for the novice again: To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, go to Fox News Channel, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama, as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (to learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the Fox News Channel and those mentioned with it in presenting political stories and events, and you should discover CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV avoid covering things that make Barack Obama look bad or show his true nature, which could harm you).  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.

So, I have I run across any good commercial network television series, such as weekly series, lately?  I answer is that I have is not.  I saw the opening of Believe (on Monday, March 10, 2014, on NBC-TV), and I saw yet another "dark" show with characters that I would not want to show up at my house on a weekly basis.  I saw some of the first episode of Dateline Saturday Night Mystery, which showed up on NBC-TV on Saturday, March 8, 2014, and it was a highly padded two-hour story focusing on a shooting, and I say that two hours of that stuff every week would be gagging. Resurrection showed up on ABC-TV on Sunday, March 9, 2014, but I did not catch the series till the episode of Sunday, March 16, 2014, and that was a turn-off product.  On Sunday, March 16, 2014, NBC-TV pushed out Crisis to viewers, and it is a crisis that I do not need.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, I watched the interview between Zach Galifianakis and Barack Obama on Between the Ferns with Zach Galifianakis, which is an Internet show that is supposed to be funny [Vincent, Alice.  "Watch: Barack Obama criticizes Hangover films in Zach Galifianakis interview."  The Telegraph (the United Kingdom), 11 March 2014, 10:15 a.m. GMT.].  The video ran about six minutes and a half.  As reviewers in the past might have said about things at times, I say--It "laid an egg."  There was nothing funny.  Near the end of the interview, I was subjected to the reason for the interview--The production was designed to sell as good the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 to young persons.  With that in mind, I define the video as rotten and Zach Galifianakis as a rotten man, pushing "enslavism" on young persons.

In the previous edition of T.H.A.T., I reported that I saw the opening to the first episode of the weekly series called Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, which Fox TV made a Sunday-night series, and I saw Barack Obama--a truly rotten man--introduce the series, and I saw the opening credits, and then I turn off the television.  NASA was involved in the making of the series, and I know the federal government has given NASA the duty of doing some Muslim outreach, and I know high-ranking members of NASA for a number of years have been involved in pushing the faux idea of manmade global warming or manmade climate changed and were directly involved in the scandal called, for instance, "Climategate" (to learn about NASA and climate-change crap, see my document entitled "CAPE AND TRADE and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, which can be reached by using this Carbon link).  On Monday, March 17, 2014, I became aware of an article entitled "Industrial civilization 'may be leading toward collapse' within decades because of its strain on the planet's resources, NASA report says" ("Industrial civilization 'may be leading toward collapse' within decades because of its strain on the planet's resources, NASA report says" Mail Online (The Daily Mail of the United Kingdom), 17 March 2014).  In years past, NASA was involved in space exploration, and I say that now NASA seems to be made up of "space cadets" (which, for those who are unaware, is an old derogatory term and does not describe something good).  The article noted that "elites" are responsible or are going to be responsible for the crash of modern civilization, and it was noted that what could help the world is population-growth control and reducing inequality in the world, two themes that communists ("enslavists") have been pushing hard for in recent years so that, for one, they can take political control of western nations, especially the United States of America.  I found that Safa Motesharrei was instrumental in putting the study or report together (the funding had come from the Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA), and he is involved with the University of Maryland (College Park), which is in a communist/socialist controlled state and is a left-wing university.  (I went looking for information and a photograph of Safa Motesharrei, and I went looking to see if I could find some of his associates, and Safa Motesharrei and at least some of this associates are "natural and social scientists," and I saw the Safa Motesharrei is associated with SESYNC (the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center, a "facebook" page for which gave a theme of the entity as--"The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center...is a research center dedicated to creating synthetic actionable science related to the structure, functioning, and sustainability of socio-envornmental systems" [which you should realize is nonsense thought and pseduo-intellectual flap doodle and crap]).  To me, the study, which has ties to a predictive "model" of some type, was and is more rottenness tied to or from NASA (or the federal government, especially the Barack Obama administration).  I ask--What is NASA doing using taxpayer money for such a study anyway?  With information about the study--nothing more than prediction--in mind, I have another reason to never watch Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.  Oh, it does seem NASA is now a media propaganda machine for "enslavists" and pushers of "enslavism" (such as communists).

Remember--The manmade-climate-change crap, which NASA has ties to, was based on, for one, another predictive "model," which was shown to be flawed and fake, and a part of the faked stuff was a "hockey-stick" graph.

By the way, I ran across an article in The Guardian (a newspaper in the United Kingdom) that had been published on March 18, 2014 (Ahmed, Nafeez.  "Earth Sight: Nasa-funded study: industrial civilization headed for 'irreversible collapse'?."  The Guardian, 18 March 2014.), and it seemed to be promoting the study, and I learned Nafeez Ahmed (who wrote the article) had authored the book entitled A User's Guide to the Crisis of Civilisation: And How to Dave It, and it all sounded like more crap from a communist environmentalist, and Nafeez Ahmed is the executive director of the Institute for Policy Research & Development, and that sounds like more crap, and I went to Nafeez Ahmed's website, and I found idiocy and crap that fits what was urged in Rules for Radicals (written by Saul Alinsky, a communist), which was about getting communists and other rotten people--all "enslavists"--to take over societies by getting unknowing people hooked on, basically, a central issue, such as climate change, and have those people take up the cause pushed by the communists, though the cause is false, which could lead to, for example, nonsense laws that ultimately controlled the people's lives.  And the Institute for Policy Development is a hard-line communist entity (founded and operate by known socialists and communists), which has been around for decades (by the way, some funding for the entity has come from The Ford Foundation, which has also been involved in providing money to some programs shown by PBS, which has pushed causes of socialists and communists, and WTVS-HD is affiliated with PBS).  Ugh!

Did your favorite television newscast, which might be that sent out by PBS, cover this story?  Lawrence Toriello is an associate professor at Rochester Institute of Technology (in New York), and recently he wrote a piece for the website known as "The Conversation."  The theme of the written material is that scientists who fail to tell the correct message about "global warming" should be put on trial for "criminal negligence."  That means, as I see it, if a scientist does not agree with, for instance, Barack Obama's assessment that manmade global warming is a truth, then that scientist should be put in jail, or if a scientist does not agree with the federal government--such as the Environmental Protection Agency of the federal government--that manmade climate change is happening, which the many persons pushing the false idea of manmade climate change say is going to kill the world soon, then that scientist should be put on trial and probably found guilty and put in jail.  That is the issue pushed by Lawrence Toriello, another communist-like man in a high-level educational institution in the United States of America.  [Delingpole, James.  "U.S. Philosophy Professor: Jail 'Denialists' climate scientists for criminal negligence."  Breitbart, 13 March 2014.]

By the way, the National Geographic Channel pushes the nonsense of manmade global warming; for example, on Friday, March 28, 2014, the channel aired the rotten special called Worst Weather Ever? for two hours.

Here are items that your favorite local television newscast will not cover well or properly.  Recenly, Dennis Rodman--once a big-deal basketball player for the Detroit Pistons--has been praising North Korea and especially the leader, though the country is rotten and the leaders of North Korea are killers.  Dennis Rodman is only one of many entertainers who are rotten because of what they support in relation to politics.  Steven Seagal has been a movie and television star for quite a while, and on Friday, March 28, 2014, I learned in an article in the Detroit Free Press ("NAMES+FACES: 'Briefly.'"  Detroit Free Press, 28 March 2014, p. 3C.) that Steven Seagal was praising the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, though history shows that Putin is a hard-line communist ("enslavist") and a thug and killer.  When you see Steven Seagal or Dennis Rodman on television, see in your mind that the person before you is a rotten man (and think about switching channels).

On Sunday, March 30, 2014, a communist was the guest on the locally produced program from WXYZ-HD, Channel 7.1, entitled Spotlight on the News, which is a weekly political talk-show that has been around for decades with a number of different hosts.  The guest was Marc Schauer, a Democrat (a.k.a. communist) who is running to be the next governor of Michigan.  During the interview, which was conducted by Chuck Stokes, Marc Schauer ran off all the communist cliches, like those that are pushed by such communists as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.  For example, Mark Schauer gummed out that old cliche about it takes a village to raise a child, which he stole from Hillary Clinton and is idiot thought (given it really only takes a minimum of one parent to raise a child really, such as when one parent dies before the child is raise).  Communists push the idea that it takes a village to raise a child so that people think that government must--must--be involved in raising children, and that is shit.  You certainly do not want communists to be involved in or be in control of raising your children.  Mark Schauer pushed the idiot idea that cities are "magnets for innovation."  That is crap.  Oh, Phil T. Farnsworth was the inventor of the electronic-scanning idea for television; he was out on his farm decades ago when the idea came to him--he was plowing his field and saw the lines that he was leaving behind with the tractor and equipment, and he came up with electronic lines to make an image on a tube (television picture tube).  That is something Mark Schauer does not know (probably), and that idea did not come out of a city.  I state--You do not need a city to have innovation, given many inventions or innovations come out of garages or basements, which can be anywhere.  Oh, of course, Mark Schauer is into "shared sacrafice," which is a theme from Barack Obama; Mark Schauer mentioned "shared sacrifice" in the interview.  Once again, Mark Schauer had to steal a theme from someone else.  Mark Schauer is against "term limits" for politicians, which limits how long politicians, such as communists and socialists, the latter of whom are simply temporarily restrained communists, can service in political office.  Term limits help limit the damage that rotten politicians--rotten people--can do to others.   In the interview, Mark Schauer noted that he is out to help build an economy for everyone, a theme pushed by Barack Obama.  I state--No politician can build an economy for everyone.  It cannot be done.  People as a whole--doing for themselves--build an economy, as happened with Detroit in the early 1900s.  By the way, some people do nothing in life, and that is life.  The only way a politician might be able to build an economy for everyone is to have complete control of everyone and use violence and force to make everyone follow what the politician wants done, and that is the way of, for example, North Korea, a police state, and it creates poverty and death.  Mark Schauer is not for "charter schools," unless there is "accountability," which is a meaningless word.  As noted in the interview, Mark Schauer will work "across the aisle"--with people of other political parties.  I hear a lie in that from him (given Barack Obama regularly says that he will work with people across the aisle but does not and did not in the case of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010), but, then again, I say that Mark Schauer probably can work with people across the aisle if the people are Republicans who are actually Democrats, such as U.S. Senator John McCain and U.S. Representative John Boehner.  Mark Schauer said more that is nonsense and shows he would be yet another rotten man in high political office, but I stop.  I do note that Mark Schauer supports the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, which means he will continue to work to impose that rotten law on Michigan and the country.

Oh, if you watched any of the men's college basketball tournament games on television, aimed at getting to a national champion, you may have seen LeBron James pushing the so-called goodness of "Obamacare" (or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010)--Remember that he did, and remember him as one of the rotten men who pushed crap on you, especially when history shows the full rottenness of "Obamacare."

Since I published the previous edition of T.H.A.T., the biggest story has been the disappearance of Flight 370 of Malaysia Airlines.  I have heard or seen so much rotten news coverage of the story, it is amazing, and much of it was speculation and guesses and theories and theories, and the news media did so much filler, it was gagging.  So let me jump in with help.  The next time that a plane goes missing, people should hire a person who can find things quickly and sift through the crap well.  [It could be me, but it is not this time.]  On February19, 1974, a man that I know found an airplane (a jet, really) in short order.  The plane belonged to Tony Fowler.  Oh, it is not that the hunter did not have help in finding the plane--he regularly gets help from a man named Felix and sort of gets help from a man named Jay.  Yes, the next time that you have a missing plane, call "Banacek."  That is what I would do!

Okay, the previous paragraph was phony.  Banacek was the title of a series of TV-movies aired by NBC-TV in the early 1970s, and George Peppard played Banacek, and episode in which Banacek found a plane was entitled "Fly Me, If You Can Find Me," which was shown for the first time on television on February 19, 1974, and which from time to time shows up on Cozi TV on Mondays.

Oh, I did see what I consider good on YouTube since I published the previous edition of T.H.A.T., and that something good was listed as "Going to California Full Live Concert," which was a concert given by the musical called Tears for Fears during the heyday of the group in the 1980s.  Just because the musical presentation was good, it does not mean the people involved are high-level thinkers--they are simply specialist thinkers, focusing on music.  Today, WTVS-HD, Channel 56.1, runs Saturday Night Concert Series on Saturdays in prime time, and in twenty or thirty years, this concert from Tears for Fears would fit well under Satuday Night Concert Series, unlike almost all the "rap" ("crap") that has become commonplace since the 1980s and that no one will want to see performed on television in twenty or thirty years.

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

P.S.: On Monday, March 17, 2014, in the ten o'clock hour in the morning, I happened to be listening to WJR-AM, Detroit, while Frank Beckmann was doing in radio show, and Frank Beckmann had Ezekiel Emanuel (one of the brothers of Rahm Emanuel's (currently, Rahm Emanuel is the Mayor of Chicago, the communist-controlled city)) as a telephone guest.  Ezekiel Emanuel was one of the main architects of the Patient Protection and Affordable Act of 2010, which is a rotten federal law, as I note in a number of documents available at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  Here, I thought I should pass along some of what Ezekiel Emanuel said on Frank Beckmann's radio show.  Ezekiel Emanuel said: "...Insurance companies aren't going to be there in their current format.  They're gonna have to evolve or go instinct!...."  I note--Insurance companies sell insurance, such as related to possible catastrophic events, and if they do not do insurance business, what will they do?  Ezekiel Emanuel followed up the material that I quoted with a few more sentences, but they were flap doodle so I did not present them here.   In answering a question about what will people see instead of traditional health-care insurance, Ezekiel Emanuel said: "Well, I think you're gonna select between, nah, insurance companies and the health systems, where the insurance company doesn't just pay, you pay premiums to them, they also will employ doctors and hospitals directly.  And so you will get, ah, you know, Blue Cross, ah, services directly."  That statement is a flap-doodle statement.  What the statement means is--the federal government will control the hospitals, and the doctors and hospitals will work for the government.  Ezekiel Emanuel said: "...You're gonna get care directly from the hospital, and they're also gonna provide the insurance...."  I state--The insurance will be tied to government-only control!  In answering the question about whether or not the country is going to a single-payer (a goverment-controlled) system, Ezekiel Emanuel said: "No!  Absolutely not!  This is not about single-payer.  This is about competing private systems...."   Here, Ezekiel Emanuel lied big time!  Ezekiel Emanuel, like Rahm Emanuel, is a close associate of Barack Obama's, and history shows Barack Obama is pushing for a single-payer system, and yet Ezekiel Emanuel wanted a person listening to him to believe single-payer is not the goal, and Ezekiel Emanuel also pushed the idea that it is about "competing private systems," which is a lie from Ezekiel Emanuel since there is no competition among private systems if the government is in compete control of what can and cannot be done by doctors and hospitals.  In answering a question about how health care will be rated in the future because of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, Ezekiel Emanuel said: "...I'm very optimistic.  I think that, dah, we've already seen improvements because the Affordable Care Act especially on the quality metrics...."   Ezekiel Emanuel spoke crap in the previous sentence.  The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 has no provisions to improve care--it cannot dictate quality--and, anyway, Ezekiel Emanuel has no data to backup his statement--yes, he spoke crap.  Yet, Ezekiel Emanuel followed up the previous sentences with: "...One of the surprising things to me is the fact that the federal government has not broadcast the, ah, something they launched in 2010 called the 'Partnership for Patients.'  Ah, I was there for that launch, ah, to try to reduce hospital-acquired infections, medication errors, and other, ah, medical interventions that were causing problems.  And that's had a remarkable effect....."  With that, Ezekiel Emanuel pushed the idea that, before the federal government stepped in (though it has been affecting the health-care system for decades, as have state governments), hospitals were not concerned with "hospital-acquired infections, medication errors, and other, ah, medical interventions that were causing problems."  That is bullshit.  By the way, Frank Beckmann called Ezekiel Emanuel--"The Architect of 'Obamacare.'"  Ezekiel Emanuel tried to suggest attacks on him were based on nasty politics, such as from Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, who looked at only a few bits (such as a "single sentence") of maybe something like a "million words" that he has written.  I report a lesson--A person can write a million words, and the million words can be crap [You can see an example of that through this document, by looking at the crap that was put in a book and in a television documentary about Detroit television history, and you can see, indirectly (by following links out of this document to others), the crap that was published in a book about the history of former Great Lakes icebreaker known as The Mackinaw WAGB-83, all of which were made up of very few words really)].  Ezekiel Emanuel said: "...It's like 'death panels.'  'Death panels' don't exist!  Never existed!  A complete figment of Sarah Palin's imagination.  Ah, you know, but they persist on saying it, despite all the evidence. And there are mountains of evidence.  That, it's just junk, garbage!...."  Remember the previous section of quoted material, because it will hit you as a lie in the future when you learn [Note: You are urged to learn about the medical system in England, where there are "death panels," and it is a system that Ezekiel Emanuel has praised in public statements, and the evidence of his promoting it does exist).  Before "Obamacare" would become law, the government had so much law that requires doctors and hospitals to do so much paper work that the system was indeed inefficient, and new the law ("Obamacare") is so convoluted, screwed up, and hard to understand that things are even more inefficient and complex, and yet Ezekiel Emanuel said nothing about that in the interview with Frank Beckmann, and his new book pushes the lie that the health-care system being forced on the country through Barack Obama and his associates will be better than what the country had, and the title of Ezekiel Emanuel's book is--Reinventing American Health Care: How the Affordable Care Act will Improve our Terribly Complex, Blatanly Unjust, Outrageously Expensive, Error Prone System.  I say in jest--"I bet Rich Homberg, Jeff Forster, and Fred Nahhat will soon put together a truthful special about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 for WTVS-HD, Channel 56.1 (the title of which will fit in well with the titles of past specials for the station, such as American Graduate: Community Town Hall, Where Does Excellence Begin?, Class of '95:  Teach Me to Care, Dropout Crisis, Designing Healthy Communities, and Grown in Detroit).
Note: I urge you to see my document entitled National Health Care and Mass Failure: The Reasons it is a Dead Issue, which can be reached by using the link at the end of this document.
